Military Service Safer than Chicago

Not only did Trump reduce homicides by over 100 without setting foot in Chicago, he reduced military deaths to under 100, something that doesn't reflect well on Rahm's policies:
  • If you’re a young man, you are safer in the military than you are in the most dangerous neighborhoods of Chicago.

In 2017, in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, which has roughly 98,000 residents, there were 467 people killed or shot. In the city of Chicago in 2017, over 3,500 people were shot, and 675 homicides were committed.

Meanwhile, guess how many military members were killed in the U.S. military in 2017? According to data from the Chicago Tribune and from the Department of Defense’s press office, 37 service members, as CNSNews reported.

Among military deaths, some were combat-related; some were non-combat related. As CNSNews pointed out, Chicago citywide had 17.9 times more homicides than the U.S. military worldwide in 2017.
Time for Rahm to go.

Rahm has lost control of the police department and Melissa Staples has lost control of the detective division. In any self respectable private corporation both would be replaced based on their record of accomplishments.

Where is the BLM hypocrite movement? Blacks are getting shot and killed regularly in Chicago yet they’re quiet on the maiming. When are these Democrat politicians ever going to do something for the blacks that actually keeps them safe? All talk from the Democrats but the blacks never pick up on it because they’re blinded by the free cheap stuff they receive to remain enslaved by the Democrat politicians.

Over and over coppers say that Rahm’s gotta go. But who should we support - Dart? Preckwinkle? Little Lisa? That stroke McCarthy?

Rahm doesn't care.
Plain and simple.
Not sure what exactly his agenda is but the safety of Chicago's citizens and visitors are not on his to do list.

Good job, Rahm

Close 2 detective areas, 3 police districts all while promising to put more police on the street (which is not the same as saying you'll hire more police) and helping by killing police morale and handcuffing cops behind their backs via COPA, bad policies, and turning your back on them amongst other things.

But don't worry. You can't take all the credit. That can be spread around to politicians (isr's now law), the states atty and predecessor, judges and misc snow flakes.

About a year ago I struck up a conversation with an Army E-4 (Corporal) at the local airport USO lounge. Said he was from Chicago and I mentioned that I too grew up in Chicago and left in 1966 (the draft) and then spent a career in the military. The young Corporal was coming off a 30 day leave after a deployment to "the sandbox". Took his leave in Chicago , Southwest Side, with his parents and mentioned it was not much different than being outside the wire. Stay indoors, away from windows at night etc. He was in a neighborhood one over from where I grew up. Said his parents are stuck in Chicago as they have a house that will never sell and be able to break even.

Whenever I meet Navy, Marine, or Army medics I ask where they did their training. The majority tell met--Chicago area hospitals. One Marine medic said he saw more gunshot victims per week in Chicago than he did in Afghanistan. Go figure.

I am glad that crime is down according to the politicians. But then again if you don't arrest the bad people, then they aren't a statistic and then no crime was committed. ex Marquette Park person

.....

Highly doubt he was combat arms. Being outside the wire is similar to living in a dangerous neighborhood? Sorry, thats absolutely laughable. I worked in ghetto ass districts and I find the people cowards. They only oppose you in large numbers, they woof but are bitches in fights, they want to sue for everything. Leaving the wire and worrying about IEDs, suicide bombers, not knowing the language at all, snipers, green on blue, ambushes, negotiating mountains and deserts, UXOs and knowing that what you roll out with is all you have. You can be decimated before a QRF, CAS or IDF gets to you. The wounds are much more gruesome. In Chicago, I know that if I'm killed or incapacitated, my body wont be desecrated, I won't wake up under enemy hands, I will have back-up in a matter of minutes or less, I might even be able to say goodbye to my family before the lights go out and my family will get my body. I'll likely never have to see another American with shrapnel wounds, GSWs, missing limbs or dead from combat again. The casualties here are comfortable shitheads vs. other comfortable shitheads. Life of a grunt vs a Chicago resident, even in a bad neighborhood? No comparison.

Highly doubt: some vets like to brag a story that can't be
verified. Even if he did go outside the wire, today's soldiers
sleep in A.C.'d barracks at night, have access to on base
fast food restaurants, watch latest movies, call home on a
cell phone. Not so much the Army in WWII.
Maybe Chicago is sustained as "Operation Sandbox":
a DOD operation to train medical personnel in a high-
volume theater.

This is where you’re ignorance shows. True, most service members deployed live like that, up to 85% in fact. Actually, it’s always been that way. Even grunts that are allowed to sleep most nights in a FOB, firebase or COP, they still go on dangerous patrols that are physically grueling and often spend nights away on missions. Then you go to the big FOBs where there are fast food restaurants, movie theaters and amenties, which is where I’m guessing your experience was. Experiences may vary but I’ll listen to you, the expert. Military PAs, PJs, and 18Ds have traditionally trained in trauma departments. It’s as you’re so smart, you created “Operation Sandbox” yourself. The military already has training programs in trauma, without the stupid name.

At least any ground pounding grunt with a radio and a map can call for an airstrike or an artillery barrage.

Thank-you troops and vets for your service.

The Rahmhole doesn't care about the citizens of Chicago, and even less about the media. He just uses them leading them around like a donkey with a carrot. Amazing that the media never corners him on some anti-citizen issues like the red light s/camera (s/cam = scam!!)- which if he was actually serious about "citizen safety"- he wouldn't be blowing as many lights as he does (you'd think his lips would be sore by now?). SO yes, crime is up, there's an increase in the decrease, call it what you like, but this blithering fool is running the City into the ground, and all its honest, decent, hardworking citizens right with it. All he cares about is getting free money for doing nothing, and his re-election. Useless turd.

to 1112am you spoke to a Marine medic? The marines have no medics! Navy Corpsmen are assigned to the Marine Corps. The Corpsmen are afforded the highest respect by Marines.
