Beating Joe Curtin is monumental, trust me on that one, he was my Lt. back in the day in Old Area Three Homicide. We fucked with him mercilessly. He had a specially made wooden podium we kidnapped and would send him messages and photo's. This went on for well over a year. Then just before revealing its location, we sent him burned ashes in an envelope making him think it was destroyed by fire. A short time after sending him the ashes, we threw the podium on the roof of a business across the street from Area Three and notified Curtin by an anonymous call just before roll call. Wow, worst then the Joey Curtin, that's amazing; this guy has to be a jagoff in the third degree.

To all who have the misfortune of working for Lt. Juan Rios...please do not put yourself in harms way by trying to reach his quotas(dope pinch a day)...he is dumping several decent people no
t for lack of activity but for defying his quota orders. I have worked with this guy for years and know that he will be the first to turn tail and run when his guys get in even the smallest jam. If he dumps you, consider it an honor. This coward never did a thing on the job except shoot off his mouth and suck political hole for his next promotion. To any media monitoring this, take note of Lt. Rios quota system and next time one of his well-meaning officers gets jammed up, trace it to the top. Allegedly this guy is to be spoon-fed a Commander spot very soon...very bad move! Remember, this guy will put you and your family in terrible risk and NEVER have your back. Take heed!

I don't know much about Commander Cliche. From what I have seen and heard, he looked like and spoke like a cop's cop. I have to admit, he makes smoking look cool.

One of the first days I was at Sgt school, Piggy walks in the atrium with is face all red looking like a madman. Doesn’t say anything like congrats on making a promotion or kind words like P.O.’s and other bosses that spoke to us. The first thing he says is, “You all look like shit and you’re an embarrassment.” Everyone looks at each other like “ what’s this guy’s fucking problem.” Piggy goes off for a couple of more minutes berating the class and speaking to us like a bunch of kids for some reason and does a stand up inspection of our uniforms. I’m thinking is this some kind of experiment to teach the class of how not to be a supervisor, but sadly it was just his personality and awesome mentoring skills.

Collazo = Colossal Joke. Absentee sergeant when she had an area team. She left younger guys and gals unsupervised in 011 while she went and did her personal errands. Hubby Kenny babysat them when they got into shit doing their petty weed arrests and tvbs. Plus we'd get stuck completing their pursuits, IODs, etc. because she was absent. They'd occupy the room adjacent to our sergeants office and on more than one occasion they could be heard saying they were using her PC# to approve their own reports. Lack of time on the job and questionable ways she made rank aside, she's probably the last person that should be in a command position due to lack of experience. Not that I ever believed things would be legit on this job, but shit like this just reeks of clout and flies in the face of the changes that were supposed to be implemented after the report by the Justice Department. As for the rest of these moves? There's maybe two that are deserving, the rest are carrying on CPDs finest tradition: "Given, Not Earned".

She was never considered a lock. If Staples was made 1st Deputy that would have been it for her career. It's not a springboard to Superintendant, hasn't been in a long time. She is relatively young and there's no rush.
Rham is re-elected in 2019, coincidentally right around the time Johnson can fully collect his Supe pension. When Johnson departs, that's when Staples has a good chance of becoming the first female Supe.

I worked with Riccio back in the day in Gangs North and when he was a Sgt. on 1st Watch in 016. He is a stand up guy and he knows his shit. Most people would say the same. The problem is that he will be worn down by those with anti police politics and will be expected to dance the dance with Rahm. It's a shame. Perhaps he will be a morale booster, but at that rank you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. He is one of the last bosses who really knows what he is doing.

I work in 025 but not directly for Lt Collazo. In my little dealings with her she has always been pleasent and professional. As someone who has a lot of friends on midnights, I haven't heard a bad thing about her. Not just from patrol officers but sgts and lts as well. Yeah, they probably shouldn't promote people that quickly, but this department probably shouldn't do a lot of other things either like body cams, copa, sucking off the BLM etc. It's the way of the city and the department. Given the times we live in, you could do a lot worse then her as a Commander.
Speaking of worse, let us look at the other side of the coin with Escamerit. Collazo had some negative comments on this thread. That is just the nature of the beast. She has also had comments of support and congratulations. Escamerit on the other hand has been the star of his own SCC thread about 5 times. I've read close to 1000 comments bashing him. I don't recall ever reading one comment sticking up for the goof. Speaks volumes for his overall lack of character, professionalism, demeanor, and just about everything else. He should be the one getting sent to 004.

He did the same thing his first day in the 001st District. It’s going to hard for him to motivate officers to work for him. If he continues that attitude show him that there’s strength in numbers.
Strong rumors of promotions, are they true and what rank. Maybe one more class of Captains for the women in the NOBLE Club. Is the Supt. really thinking about leaving, or is it a ploy.

Collazo = Colossal Joke. Absentee sergeant when she had an area team. She left younger guys and gals unsupervised in 011 while she went and did her personal errands. Hubby Kenny babysat them when they got into shit doing their petty weed arrests and tvbs. Plus we'd get stuck completing their pursuits, IODs, etc. because she was absent. They'd occupy the room adjacent to our sergeants office and on more than one occasion they could be heard saying they were using her PC# to approve their own reports. Lack of time on the job and questionable ways she made rank aside, she's probably the last person that should be in a command position due to lack of experience. Not that I ever believed things would be legit on this job, but shit like this just reeks of clout and flies in the face of the changes that were supposed to be implemented after the report by the Justice Department. As for the rest of these moves? There's maybe two that are deserving, the rest are carrying on CPDs finest tradition: "Given, Not Earned".

I totally agree. I've never seen such a lazy bunch of officers in one place, in my entire career. The majority of 2nd watch PO's are in such a hurry to leave, they leave prisoners in the processing room and don't get the arrest reports approved (happened the other day...again) and go home. They go to DOA's and never even look at the deceased and write it off as a natural...only to have the funeral home find a gun under the body, blood splatter on the walls and a hole in the guy's head. 1st watch is even worse. Good luck finding them!! One guy lives in the district and tries to get PPO's to go to his house, so he can sleep. Sergeants go to their jobs and wait and the officers code them out...without ever going to the scene. The "bum" team is just as bad. The only thing they do is leave early every day. 3rd watch is getting better, with the influx of PPO's. Tact? M'eh.
And don't get me started on the chronic medical roll abusers, who are off for almost a year at a time with "viral infections," bronchitis, a sore back, etc.
I can't wait to retire and work somewhere where people are actually held accountable for their actions and can get fired for poor performance!!
To say there isn't White Privilege on this job is insane. I am BLESSED to be assigned to Unit 050 but constantly hounded by micromanaging M/2 bosses,meanwhile there is a F/2 who spends between 5-6 MONTHS every year on the Medical with no consequences. Maybe someone should actually pull up her time on the Medical Rolls and inquire as to why there is 0 discipline for Medical Roll Abuse. It's laughable these fools ride the troops, with the exception of some of their M/2 favorites. By the way we have been documenting all the transgressions.

LOL! 017th has been blowing up with Robberies and Burglaries for the last three months. Yet, this CMDR. didn't have any strategy or manpower to solve / prevent these problems. All he did was took care of his favorites (Greeks and females). This guy is nothing compare to M. Staples. Staples would always visit the troops by going to roll calls. She would send you a thank you card for the good work you did and letting you know that your work was appreciated. I don't recall Voulgaris did any of that while he was in 017th. Some the good Officers left the district because this CMDR was unfair if you're not a Greek or a good looking female.
I got time on the job and doing ok where I'm at. I just feel that Voulgaris should've been fair to EVERYONE..
I'm happy to see Escamerit still Commander of 025. Real stand up guy, has your back no matter what. Just goes to show how good of a boss he is by lasting more than the normal tenure of Commanders.

Why is Georgas even at McPier---besides the fact that jim Keating (the blessesd retired gold start with a HS education) left CPD for the top job over there---and then bequeathed it to Steve too young to retire with insurance ---so its now on the city dimes since he is still a sworn member.....and won't it be interesting to see that spot fade away when georgassss is done with it.......

If the post about Collaza team using her PC # is true...it is unfortunate it was not brought up to IAD or HQ or Commander while it was happening...would be able to prove...Maybe, just maybe if IG starts doing job and earning respect people will report misdeeds and action will be taken and all the crap that goes on will stop...Grow up folks-do the right thing, be legit and maybe one day the job will be legit too.

IG makes his reports, gets printed in papers and nothing happens. CPD brass ignores his reports as does everybody else most of all the CPS. He just caught principals using gift cards for dinners, car payments, credit card bills and CPS says Ok we will look into and nothing happens, just like the CPD does
