CPD Out of High Schools?

Yet another rumor:
  • SCC, Special Ed is talking about taking the CPD out of CPS High Schools and making the principals actually spend their security budget on security. Might be the new VRI.
This idea has been tried before and on a grander scale when the Department disbanded School Patrol back in the early 2000's. It wasn't exactly a rousing success then either, but it makes more sense now than it did 16 years ago.

This is true, but this is not Ed's idea! The BLM is putting this in the ears of all these liberal principles throughout the city. Ed will cave because Rahm will call this shot for the black vote.

Do you actually think he handles anything dealing with money or staff?
He can't even find FTO's let alone recruits who don't smoke chronic.

He is a puppet with handler that are civilians.
Dumby thinks he can cut the budget at the AREAs with those great clearance rates in the single digits.

Keep taking your meds and run the clock OLD GUY get your woman a spot and pray she doe not get indicted.

Let the union members of CPS handle it. Public has made policing handle everything CIT, LEMART, marriage counselor, social worker, therapist, etc.... So they can figure out how to discipline children. I thought they were harmless children anyways

As a parent of a CPS student, I want what every parent wants. Protection. Parents want their child (children)to be safe. Who is best trained to do this? The Chicago Police of course.
I also do NOT want my child in CPS to have to be force fed one week of Black Lives Matter this month without a counterpoint from the CPD. The CTU has voted, and I am livid. We need more coverage about this to combat it.

Take them out, that’s why we have school units in every district. Let the school units patrol and respond to the schools when needed. No more sitting in the office with the suntimes, coffee pot and microwave. Principals are misusing the police. They want officers to monitor the lunchrooms, hand out tardy slips and be the disciplinarian. Besides, Tact Teams are tied down at the school dismissal anyway, so why do we need on-duty officers assigned to the schools? Make schools pay off-duty officers out of their budget.

Excellent idea do it ASAP .!!! There is no reason to keep officers in the high schools smart move !!!!. They have Cpd enough security within school they will be just fine .

Awesome!! Now we can have the 8 officers in my district back on the street protecting the over 100,000 people in the district, rather than being free security guards.

Don’t you think it’s about time. Since the roll out of the restorative justice in CPS there are no arrests and/ or limited suspensions. The police are informed of nothing. No arrests,no reports no problems is the new way even when major shit hits the fan. Oh and let’s not forget the manufactured data that makes the staff students and administration all look like rocket scientists. Everything is fixed now move along boys and girls nothing to see here! The patronage security they are sent or higher could be the death of them .

Send them to a Catholic or other private school. I made a decision to forego vacations, new cars, and a bigger house, and spend over $100,000 dollars to give my children the best chance. Best decision I ever made. It's what you do for your kids.

The idea in the BLM lesson plan (yes it's online for teachers)is being taught next week. The jist of it is............ there are more police officers than counselors in schools.

Their solution is to remove police from schools. It's the new rave.

FYI: If your child is sick next week and attends a CPS, that might be a good time to use the balancing test. The curriculum for next week is frightening.

Don't say anything more because Perkins and Arena might be watching this together in their underwear.

If you speak out then good luck because you'll get blacklisted or your child will. The city has been ruined by these folk and majority of the most extreme progressives are guilt ridden/demented white folk!

The CPS and the teacher's union are not the friends of law enforcement, unless, that is, some gangbanger is kicking the principals ass. Chicago police officer should not be working at the schools either on-duty or off duty. Let the schools hire security guards. I can promise you if something goes bad in a school and an officer has to use force, serious force, the school will not be on the officer's side. The media is full of such stories recently. Let the " educators" work this out themselves. You will put your career, your financial future and possibly your freedom on the line for a BS part time job. Times have changed .

The assigned Police Officers to these schools are being use as PAWNS to do the dirty work for the teachers and principals who doesn't want to get their hands dirty.
We have four CPS high schools in our district. That's a total of eight Officers who could be working the beat and helping out. Not to mention SCHOOL rapid car. TEN Officers could fill in the spot for the 2nd watch. Imagine that! Take 'em out of the schools and put those Officers on the street where we need them...

To make matters worse why do the taxpayers have to pay to educate illegal criminals, while many are getting free rides to top colleges?

If anything it’s another City Hall financial decision.
Special Ed Jugghead - Fraidy Cat, is defunct and without any say, he’s only being put to task to scatter the house mice into someone else’s backyard.
Rahm’s making Unit cutbacks, maybe he’s 100-200 short of fulfilling the 1000 new hires promise.
CPS attendance and enrollment is down (like crime and arrest) and $10 per hr. can do the same sitting around all day.
It’s about time CPD vacated the security monitoring of public academia.

The absent mind is a viable thing to taint.
Fears of black boxes and the uniformed po-po in general is making it difficult for the tender student of the CPS to concentrate and understand the crux of the composted curriculum being offered in today’s progressive educational transition.

It’s for the kids, the dreamers and a new world order of hope and change.

Stay Fetal, wait for the food fight, respond appropriately.

Why has there been no mention and uproar of the program in CPS "The Law and Your Community". This is a NOBLE program that is being financed apparently by the city/CPS that REQUIRES P.O.s to lead the classes. There are officers at headquarters that are assigned to this unit who could very well help out on the unstaffed streets on a daily basis. The officers were sent for training and then thanked for volunteering, which they did not volunteer. Who is getting paid?

Principals use officers to do their dirty work. When officers go hands on the school doesn’t want any involvement. They do not want to go to court on behalf of officers. If you ask them to come to court they will tell you they have to check with their Law Department. Besides when fights take place inside schools, some school officers send the parents into the station to make the report. The case report are forwarded to the D-unit and the assigned detective is expected to make the arrest. What sense does that make when officers are assigned to the school daily? Make the arrest will you!?!?

Does anyone here remember when schools didn't need security guards at all? If you got out of line the teacher was allowed to swat you with a ruler or make you stand in the cloakroom or send you to the Audy home. My third-grade teacher wedged the class clown's ass into a metal waste basket and made him sit there until noon, giving him 40 immobile minutes to ponder his behavior. She only had to do it once.

Or better yet DON'T. Let the school give out discipline like they are supposed to instead of middling the Police. I hope they take the Officers out of the schools. I'm tired of hearing from them the principal insisted on an arrest. It's not up to the Principal or staff, it's up too the Police. Too many school officers are worried about losing their spots.

This is music to my ears. I say go for it. The CTU has been so liberal and apologists for savagery for way too long. I think CPD should pull all school units out and order privatized security. CPD will only take custody of little darlings once teacher signs complaints. No hands on with these little emotional train wrecks. Zero fucking accountability and these teachers feed into their “I’m a victim of [insert whatever bullshit] so I deserve [insert bullshit break from criminal offense, bad grade, shorty attitude, etc.] struggle.”

I’m no fan of liberal ass teachers but consider what you’re saying. You’re blaming victims and ordering them to be comfortable with violence against them. It’s the same as people assuming we are there to get battered. I say institute corporal punishment.

It's a fact Jadine Chou Chief of Security does not want CPD at the High Schools. She feels that CPD is too hard on HS students when
responding to a school incident such as a fight. She has tossed up the idea of CPD participating in Peace Circles with these hard core HS students. Behind CPD's back she bad mouths the CPD Officers to Rahm and he eats all up. Peace Circles? Comon! We need to be tough on these kids!
