Rumor popping up that up to 65 people will be dumped out of HQ and back to the Districts.
With the three new civilian Bureau heads starting shortly, they probably need the room for their new staffs, so the least clouted are sacrificed to make room in the parking lot.
Thankfully, this may just alleviate the FTO shortage as all 65 will immediately volunteer to do anything at all to get back to the Ivory Tower.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for them in the streets. You must be a rookie. Not one will actually hit the streets. Even if all 65 hit the districts that’s on 3 a district. Commanders will find a spot for them. Just pull up another chair
I recall several years back a few getting dumped out of HQ back to districts and one or two had to be retreaded at the Academy because they'd been inside so long they had no clue what a police officer on the street did.
The Jugghead Special Ed Experience is in the waning days.
Jugghead dint have the toughness to be the hatchet man.
Bring in the cleaner.
If 65 are being dumped (or re-detailed), then those folks must be in or close the 29 +1 range and the younger others already are going to replace retirement soft spots elsewhere, just cant stay at HQ.

It's about time, dump more way to much not needed secretary with guns,getting same salary as coppers responding to calls! Eddie does something right and let's clear out district inside hiring spots! Just had interview for position after retiring from Cpd, told many other desk positions will be opening in May 2018. So desk dollies pack up finally going back to the beat,more foot patrols are coming!

And every boss gives into them. Districts, units and headquarters and then the bosses complain they have no no officers for the beat cars. That’s because you are filling the front offices in your unit or district. If it gets any worse and it will with the new recruits and their make up, they will have to build larger districts and areas to make room for all the inside people

The entire Greek staff in 17 was dumped by the new Cmdr. Eli couldn't save them. Too bad he didnt promote you like the useless 5 year wonder who made detective. Does nothing at Area North, but she is taken care of cause of her being pretty.

Know what you are talking about before you make false statements. Your deferred isn’t taxed twice. There are no capital gains on deferred. All the money you take out whether make on interest or capital gains are taxed as ordinary income.
Stocks and mutual funds in deferred don’t get the tax advantage of capital gains which is 20%
Deferred vs Roth depends on your individual circumstances Roth is great if early in life you have plenty of deductions, mortgages , medical bills, etc where you pay very little taxes deferred is better if you are paying higher taxes , rent no other deduction. Say you put $20,000 in deferred you would be investing $20,000 that over time with make some
On the other hand if you were to put $20,000 in a Roth that year your would be paying say 28% federal and 4 .75 % state tax. Therefore you would be paying about 33% taxes and only would have a little leads than $14,000 to invest and after 20-30 years of investing that 20k will make 33% more than the 14k.

In addition, you are taxed on a Roth, just on the front end and you are limited to 5.5k a year or 6.5k if you are over 60.
If you think about it, the department is indirectly admitting that for a certain period of time they allowed full duty status officer to be inside doing meaningless work rather than to work in the patrol division where they are greatly needed. The bosses always stress to the police officers be safe and back each other up while thy hide away their favorite officers who carry out trivial assignments at headquarters. Why would someone risk getting seriously injured carrying out patrol duties when there are other police officers doing clerical work who are making the same money and havie ahigher chance of getting promoted.

Um, thanks, but we all don’t live in mommy‘s basement so that we can stack away all our deferred comp. Some of us actually have families and children that we love. My future is secure because I will have children that will be able to help me in my aging years unlike yourself will probably just drop dead from a heart attack because you worked and worked and worked and saved and saved and saved

No, I never had an officer get a cr on me but I’ve seen it happen to others. You just proved my point, many officers get cr numbers on each other and think that the other officer deserved it. I agree that officers shouldn’t get CR numbers on eachother . we as officers need to try our best to work out the problem instead of going that route. Unfortunately, there have been many cases when two officers can’t see things eye to eye on something and they don’t like eachother , the CR is a way to get back at them. It’s sad but true.

Silly argument to have. This is America and we all can do with our money what we want and no one should tell anyone else how to live. It’s our individual choice and we live with it.if you are happy saving for retirement or spending your money now for things you can’t enjoy later in life good for both of you. If you work VRI or don’t work it , it’s your choice and both have there reasons. Worry about your own choices and not someone’s else’s, who really isn’t any of your business.as a retired guy I have seen it work both ways. Guys work all their life preparing for retirement and drop dead before they retire. Others blow their money on motorcycles , cars, woman,etc and when they retire aren’t as well off financially

Crybabies, back in 2000 they had a big pushontake home cars and the gifted who worked at HEADQUARTERS had to give up their cars, boy themselves were, that,this is my only car, my wife and kids drive mine. Then when they started making them work on weekends, they had the nerve to whine about not being able to go to their summer homes. Etc. People who work inside forget that they are sworn officers not house mice. They need to hire back retired guys and more civilians to do these non police jobs. Crybabies need to find another JOB.
