Funerals are Violent?
- Police, funeral directors and cemetery owners are dealing with what they say are raucous and increasingly dangerous funeral processions that start in the city and end in the suburbs, a threat to mourners and anyone in the way.
Most funerals and burials are reverent and safe, but sometimes the emotionally charged events result in violence.
Police say the dangerous activity is usually sparked by gang retaliation.
New bodycam video obtained by the I-Team, shows police responding to reports of shots fired at cemetery in south suburban Evergreen Park just days before Thanksgiving.

Well hell, we've posted links in the past to YouTube videos posted BY THE FUNERAL ATTENDEES THEMSELVES of bizarre traffic processions, crossing over into oncoming traffic, waving guns, firing guns. In fact, wasn't it a funeral rolling through the southside where an asshole with a bad habit of waving guns at people got himself killed by an off duty a while back?

Maybe the city and suburbs can start charging for 'funeral procession' permits. First 5 vehicles (including hearse) are $100 total, every one more than that are $50 apiece. Or more, depending on the distance to the cemetery.
As noted in yesterday's comment, the Chicago Pillar of Journalism, Chuck Goudie, still thinks that there are 25 police districts. Remember, abc7 is owned and operated by the Disney Corporation.

This nonsense happens in that cemetery near Narragansett and Addison in 016. That's where most local gangbangers get planted. Drinking, smoking blunts, and sometimes a sort of 21 gun salute, with pistols in the air.

Time for a new Cemetary to be constructed in the heart of Englewood. Plenty of vacant land and this will cut down on processions way out to 115th. I’m supervised a Daley or Vanevko already hasn’t thought of this to scam more $. Plus if you bury one gang member and another one that’s related to you is killed within 90 days of the first- you get 1/2 off burial of the second gang banger. Sounds like a win win

Funny thing is most readers here can say they have actually taken one of the south side routes to the numerous cemeteries either in Evergreen Park or along 111th. Out of the 15 times I have taken those cemetery routes, no one in any of those funeral processions was hanging out the car windows, flashing gang signs, waving guns, and general ass hattery.

Who is paying for these funerals and plots? They aren't cheap. All the special attentions for gang wakes/funerals. These same bangers can't come up with bond money so they get I-Bonds.

Solution:
Take some of the tax free cemetery exemption money and run it like an airport.
Install check points like TSA.
Have Cemetery Police, a mausoleum lockup, a cemetery judge and an expeditious trip to the crematorium.
Have a PreCheck entry lane for those who pass a prescreening and paid extra... in advance.
What ever happened to going to the funeral parlor and snatching the body from the casket and dragging it behind a car?

Now this is a great post, with all the empty land let them build a mb make believe church on the grounds of the cemetery build another in the 15th district that would save us from the murder and mayhem thugs racing through the areas where we respect the police and each other enough is enough mayor do something!

Watching continued events of Cmdr. Bauer, WGN and in between the relentless political commercials, WGN’s Amy Rutledge just ran a clip on Ahlgrims Funeral Home, in one of their four locations.
Perhaps this could be a solution? I’ve never seen anything like this.
One of the four, the Ahlgrims Funeral Home out in Palatine, has a fully stocked game room in their huge basement that’s open to the public-as long as no service is in progress.
They even take reservations!
A full and completely furnished, functioning miniature golf course, pool tables, ping-pong table, haunted house themes and several pinball machines were shown.
Oh, and the walls were adorned with things like real street signs, that came from...?

You can also have seperate wings to the cemetery : one section for Gd’s, one for Bd’s one for Vice Lords etc. or one for all honor Students who were just about to turn their lives around etc ...
We use to have Gypsy funerals up in the 17th. When a ranking family member was laid to rest a bunch of the men would fire guns into the air at the grave site. You think they would use blanks but bullets used to rain down on that neighborhood.

Really? I’ve been out there on plenty of days, including Saturday mornings, right next to O’Shea, trying to manage these circuses. He worked on trying to get some ordinances passed, and he tried to do the same on a state level. Matt is not in charge of locking people up, we are. Now you want people to call his office? He’s out there on the street for half of those sad excuses for a funeral, Why don’t you try going out there yourself and talking to him about it? Vote republican, I’m with you on that, but don’t rip on O’Shea for something that’s coming from some neighborhood east of Vincennes.

The Archdiocese of Chicago already has posted the "No Concealed Carry" signs as of June 2017 in all cemeteries under their control.
They posted these signs in the same places where they USED to have signs posted warning cemetery visitors: "Keep your cell phone in your hand. Dial 9-1-1 if you see something suspicious. Keep valuables hidden in your car. Keep your car locked. Travel to the cemetery with someone, not alone."
Oh please. Give me a break....
First they warn you about the dangers of travelling to the cemetery alone. Then they tell you that you can't carry concealed to protect your self in the event of a crime.
