Ban Vases!
- A Chicago police officer was hit over the head with a vase while responding to a domestic argument in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The officer and a partner responded to a call of a "domestic battery" around 2:20 a.m. in the 6400 block of South Kenwood Avenue, police said.
They met a woman on the street and followed her to an apartment, where a person opened the door and then shut it after only one of the officers entered, police said.
Before the partner could get inside, the person hit the other officer over the head with a vase.
We wonder how COPA would have judged this one if the copper, lured inside and trapped away from backup, had shot and killed the assailant.
Actually, we don't wonder. COPA would find the way to be the biggest dicks possible. Hey Special Ed - how would you like cops to handle this one and are you willing to go to the mattresses for this one?

Might had to of back peddled 2 blocks backwards just to let one off-- like that university of Chicago cop did... its amazing
Time to impose a fee, akin to a cabbie's meter, upon "domestic" disturbance calls for police involvement.
Body cams provide the 'start' of running charges time, with the 'end' of charges determined by, say, job coded or charges, on signed complaint, filed.
Invoice initially applied to both complainant and accused, with disposition of signed complaint/charges determining which is to pay.
There's your make up for the failed soda tax right there.
The motivation matrix on this is both multiple and delightful.
Complaintant motivated to pursue conviction of accused, to avoid payment of assessed, metered fee.
City motivated to pursue conviction of accused, via bond applied to pay assessed fee.
Citizens motivated to resolve their own "domestic" drama without summoning the police.
Accused motivated to avoid that bitch when she be ragging out.
All citizens involved in "domestic" drama motivated to calm the fuck down, since the longer it takes to resolve drama, the higher the bill.
If no charges are filed, both complainant and accused get hit with the fee.
Assess and collect fee as any other fine, fee for service, etc.
When you play, ya gotta pay.
Police like you have no friends is right and so the reverse of that is police like EVERYONE is your sworn enemy.
If you are young, run like hell from this job. If you are old, walk the ever narrowing line until you can jump off this sinking ship.
Good luck.

Vases????.I mean VASES????. WTF. If people only knew what our Guys and Gals are up against. I guess the City is going to have to add vases to the non deadly items list, where you can't shoot whilst getting your noggin bashed in by a vase......
I hope the officer apologized to the woman for letting his head break her vase
Vase can be a deadly weapon.
Obviously this case was not the King Dynasty variety.
Ming or Yuan Dynasty?
Poor tactics by the officer who was 'locked out' of the residence. THAT shouldn't have happened. Nothing to blame on liberals here. That could have come out way worse in a hundred different ways.
Pay attention to what's going on when answering your calls. Everyone knows that domestics are the most dangerous assignments that an officer responds to.
I hope the vase was not from the Ming Dynasty.
Vases can be hard and heavy, how is the Officer doing? Without further information, the imagination fills in the blanks, erroneously I pray.
J.J.
On one hand you have The COPRAH judging how much force can be used on the violent feral assailant and on the other you have The Abominable KimmJongFxxxx judging severity of the weaponry used by the violent feral assailant.
The Cook County felony misdemeanor at most, that’s low bond worthy and socially justified.
In any ghetto affair and situation the police lose.
I’m taking the cocka’roach that lobbed the bud vase was able to walk out on his own.
Harm’s way is located on every corner of Rahm’s Violent Feral Sanctuary City.
Cease all police work beyond writing the case report.
12:27:00 Yes, like a three stooges episode, but without Moe . . . . .
Per the TRR:
Victim P.O. XXX was struck atop the head by a Ming Vase, causing it to shatter, resulting in a pointed bump on the officers head that was encircled by 3 yellow canaries. R/Sgt. also observed each one of the officers eyes said “Tilt Tilt”.
In all seriousness...get well soon Office! See you in November!
Get well soon office. This as about as funny as getting hit in the head with a bottle. Wait neither is funny.
Shoot to kill...............
