- West Side residents packed the City Council chambers on Tuesday to plead for a stronger anti-gang loitering ordinance action to “take back” neighborhood streets overrun with gangbangers, drug dealers and prostitutes.
“While I was sitting in my chair waiting for this meeting to start, I watched four drug transactions on my phone with my security surveillance cameras. This has got to stop,” Belvie Foster said.
“This was a nice field trip. It was a nice subject matter. We don’t want to come back down here for subject matter. When can we vote?”
The City Council’s Committee on Public Safety took no action on proposals by West Side Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) to start by outlawing “prostitution-related loitering” – by designating areas of the city where hookers could be ordered to disperse for an eight-hour period — then move on to other forms of loitering.
But it was only because it will be so difficult to craft a re-write that can pass legal muster after Chicago’s more stringent anti-gang loitering ordinance was overturned more than 20 years ago.
Remember, this is the aldercreature with the shady bachelor party that partook of a number of "ladies of the evening."
And it is the same aldercreature who was thrown out of 011 by former Commander (current P.O.W.) Glenn Evans for trying to tell him how to run a District and what corners were deserving of more attention...as opposed to those that didn't require as much attention (read that any way you like.)
Remember when we could actually clear the corners and keep them clear for an evening or three? Ervin helped destroy that ability...now he's feeling the wrath of voters.

When we went ashore the immigration form had big red letters at the top: SINGAPORE EXECUTES DRUG DEALERS. An ounce of cocaine gets you the death penalty. They execute more per capita than red China, but don't publicize the figures. No jury trial, and the judge is paid $ 1M per year so there is no bribery. If you get a 10 year sentence for robbery, you can appeal. But if you lose, it is now 20 years. We had an early flight, so we walked around at 3:00 a.m. and got coffee in a downtown shop. Try that in any U.S. city these days. It's sad what we have allowed our nation to become.

Really? You got what you ask for, so be it, live with it. Prostitute are treated as victims so no physical arrest are allowed, only ANOV (Revenue generating).
