- Documents uncovered by Project Six—along with limited and opaque answers from City Hall—raise serious questions over whether political clout allowed a veteran senior-level Chicago city employee to stay in his position for more than two weeks and collect thousands in salary after being terminated for cause.
The employee, Jonathan Friend, has held multiple positions for both the city and state, but most recently was senior advisor to Chicago City Clerk Anna Valencia. Friend is also husband to one of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s top political operatives, Becky Carroll.
The investigation into the end of Jonathan Friend’s tenure with the city was the result of an anonymous tip to Project Six that alleged Friend was terminated for misconduct. Despite multiple city officials, offices and agencies refusing to answer any questions surrounding this case, communications obtained through Freedom of Information requests between City Clerk’s Office employees and multiple city vendors show how potential conflicts of interest, inappropriate procurements for city contracts worth millions and tax dollar waste was possibly ignored to benefit political insiders with connections to Mayor Emanuel.
Rahm's newest pet, Anna Valencia, is hip deep in this one. How long before she ends up under the Rahm bus?

Anna and Becky Carroll, who heads Rahm's Super Pac. Becky was the former spokesperson for CPS, which seems to be having problems with cleanliness at the moment. Also, keep in mind that Anna's husband runs the group called Kazmi Advisors. I believe I saw it here a couple of weeks ago, but there wasn't much follow-up to it.
And Rahm ran on a platform of "reform." Do you remember that?
Rahm has been giving the city away to DC style flunkies from places outside of Chicago for years. At least Daley gave it to Moose and Rocco from the 11th, and not Chad and Muffy from Ohio/Michigan/Indiana/Wisconsin.
Rahm and Anna need to go to jail.

Project Six does good work. It's headed by Faisal Khan who headed the now defunct Legislative Inspector General which was tasked with oversight of Chicago aldermen. Of course they did everything in their power to resist this oversight and exposure.
One of the instances of malfeasance that Khan reported was by non other than 45th Ward Alderman John Arena. It involved improper campaign contributions by a business with city contracts & zoning changes (surprise!).

How many city clerks in Chicago have been to prison? Is Anna being used as a Patsy in order to promote an agenda that she really does not agree with because she is so young and gets a big salary and CPD drivers and vehicles ? All the crime very unconscionable but yet they go after the police officers in the city of Chicago with a vengeance even going as far as taking away The Chicago police retirees health care which the mayor rapidly took away and then he goes out and he gives millions to develop the identification card program for the illegals and then it can be used to vote! The swamp here is so dirty and corrupt but then keep the easy target the hard working CPD officers as pawns destroying their careers and taking away their freedom for anything and everything bastardize them at every opportunity!

As much as I favor Trump and Sessions, I must say I'm disappointed. I do not expect the world in reform from them, however, a handful of solid federal prosecutors with some sharp forensic accountants should keep our politicians on their toes. The malfeasance has to stop, if not by the Feds, then by the election process.

I completely agree with the "Where Is Trump's Justice Department." With a city on the verge of bankruptcy due to years of a criminal empire known as the Democratic Party stealing and no interest by those held responsible for investigatigating them smells fishy. Within 15 days of taking office her people discovered he had some shady side business going on and moved to terminate him and his access to city resources. Within 48 hrs someone extremely powerful stopped that bus and Friend was allowed to fade away a couple weeks later.
Seems like Valencia stopped his 6 year run (2011-2017) of providing inside information and city contracts to select private companies for ???

Yes, but Friend is married to Becky Carroll. Valencia didn't stop anything, her husband's company (which she formerly owned as well) Kazmi was also looped in as an advisor to Carroll's group. It's shady as hell, and all four should, at the very least, be questioned by the Feds for the whole thing. From the looks of it, someone inside tipped off Project Six, and when Faisal came snooping around, Valencia clammed up (under orders from City Hall) and had Friend fired, but with special access granted for a couple of weeks to some very helpful information. Carroll's company Catalyst is still getting work, as are Kazmi.
And nothing is going to happen because of what we have going on in DC with the President.
Yet we still ask after all the boasting by Trump about the "forgotten men and women" and how he talked about chicagos crime wave where the fuck (excuse the vulgarity SCC) are the Feds? sleeping?
More contracts for family and friends anna is doing it "the chicago way!"
