Murderer Out

  • Bruce Rekate was only 8 years old when police came to his house to tell them his 16-year-old sister Catherine was among the five murdered in a 1972 massacre at a restaurant near Yorkville where she worked trying to save money for college.

He remembers watching his mother cry at the front door. Catherine’s death destroyed the family, he said.

On Thursday, more than 45 years after the crime, he couldn’t understand why Catherine's killer, Carl Reimann, had been granted parole.

“He should have sat in the electric chair as far as I’m concerned,” said Rekate, now 53. “It just floors me that they let this man walk... I don’t care if he’s 90 years old, he did the crime, he should pay the time.”
Five murders and free as a bird? And the Parole Board voted 8-to-4 to free him? Are you fucking kidding us?

That's why they need to bring back the death penalty. I saw several case like this myself. Before I became the Police and after. I'm sure I will hear it in retirement. The only thing is I will live in a death penalty sate.

Perhaps criminals are on the parole board exercising professional courtesy.

If he were to be killed by lets say a flying bullet and lets also say said bullet was fired by a family member of one of the victims, that could be viewed as not guilty by a reasonable jury.

Snatch him up and put him in the basement.....and then, forget about it.....until you smell that he's reached his full potential.....

Maybe if he had murdered one of the parole board's family members, the outcome might have been different...........

This is the most fucked up thing I’ve heard in a long long time. I thought if you were convicted of 2 murders it’s a mandatory life sentence . This fucking savage kills 5 people in the commission of a robbery and he is cut loose. This state and its politicians and the minions that they put in place are soft as puppy shit.

Mass murder - the same as Parkland or Vegas. That’s 9 years for each life he took. Sad part is, that’s pretty typical for Illinois. Governor gets 14 years for trying to line his pockets. Murder and rape gets a criminal less time. The Hug-a-Thug mentality lives at all levels of the justice system.

Publish the names on that "board" that let this garbage out since they are accountable for it.

Murderers walking the streets free as a bird inspires a lot of confidence in the justice system.
To the citizens, a big FU from your government.

I don't understand it myself. The Golden State

at age 72. The killer of the 16 yr old girl should
fry in transformer oil.

Manson died in jail. They had more sense
just a few years earlier in the 60s. They also
had more spine in the decades that followed
when the parole board always said "NO."

Amazing how these liberal jurors forget about the victims and the families left behind.
He will be dead in a year and the gubmint will pay that bill too.
He should have been fried decades ago when there was a Death Penalty.

Reducing jailbird populations for the budget is the main reason, but his entitlements will be on another gubmint roll.
Upon release, he (they) get a State ID (free) and Voter Registration.
Roll the dice and see how the vote goes with 7 months to go for the next election.

You're travelling through another dimension, a dimension not only of murder and shootings but of unbridled corruption; a journey into a disastrous land whose boundaries are that of unimaginable. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, Rahm’s Sanctuary City.

Illinois is Shithole Central, a waypoint between NYC and LA.
Where Murder just another word for nothing left to lose.

I know exactly what happened. I had a career in a VA Hospital. We had a problem with local civilian hospitals dumping terminal patients who happened to be Veterans on us. They would max out his Medicare/Medicaid benefits and then they would transfer them to us to die so the death didn't go on their morbidity statistics which impacted their Federal money payments, patient dumping. The parole board looked upon this 90-year-old murderer who does not have to much to live they did not want the prison system to fork out the 10's of 1000's of dollars needed for the care of this person in his final days. Now he is dumped out on the public for others to pick up the tab for his final days. Convict dumping.

Mr. Transmaster,
I too worked for the VA System. I believe our current medical system
has a way of reducing morbidity stats. The patient (or family) is urged
to utilize the hospice network. They die in the hospice, a place where
death is normal.
Fact is, our modern-day hospitals are not geared for the intense
resources required for end of life care. And most of our health
care professionals will never encounter a death, except for the ER.
I think the word you wanted was mortality ( for death). The DOD
(Dept. of Defense) also plays with stats to the extent that the public
would be shocked. If a soldier is shot on the battlefield, it does not
count as a battlefield death if they can evacuate the soldier to a
medical hospital in Germany, for example. So when casualties are
listed, they don't count the souls who passed away in military
hospitals. It's all very cold to them, and they do in fact manipulate
numbers.

It just floors me to no end to hear about these things, and how the victims relatives are just shoved aside with no thought to how they feel or the impact the crime had on their lives. There is no justice here, not in this world. I can only hope in the next he really gets his, and is sent to a very hot place for a very long time for what he did to those five people.

I remember this. That asshole and his girlfriend Carol executed these people with a Colt .38 super and got like almost no money from the robbery. The place was on the grounds of the current Walgreens at 34 &47. She has been out for years but I thought he was too
I would like to read he was found riddled with bullets in a burning car in a cornfield out there somewhere. That would be justice. And I suppose it could still happen. That would be very nice yes?.

The state doesnt wanna pay for his care in his old age. They do this all the time. They figure the old timers are too old and sick to be much trouble anymore, so out they go.

to ANON at 9:35PM I must agree. That would be very nice indeed. Sometimes it would appear that that is the way we are going. He wouldn't be missed and justice would be served. Very nice.
