We had a few PPO's missing from roll call today, they were done with the Academy on Monday. FTO's were not sure where they were, since they received orders via e-mail, plus names and star numbers, and they were on the sheets for Tuesday. Good Job Rahm hiring people who can not even make it out of the Academy before IAD is getting involved in their careers.

The memo that came out last week stating the 11-17 class members would be starting in Districts on April 1 was rescinded the next day with a new start date of April 3. The recruits were told they needed a day of training to learn about FTOs. Sounded sketchy to me. Maybe this is the real reason.

Even if this is true, there’s no way they’d fire an entire class even though they should be fired. Between the sunken training cost, and how much deeper the officer shortage would grow, they’d give them a pass and let them keep their jobs. I work at the Academy so let me put all the rumors to rest. What actually happened is that they called them all back to the academy, made them Sgt's of the 26th District for 3 hours. Next, they were all made Lt's of the 26th district and from there a few were made Capt several commanders and one of them, a blind, three legged transgender midget, is next in line for little Edward Johnson's desk and chair. True story.

Class was close to a 100. They like always divide them into groups like A. B and C with 30 to 35 in each group. This involved only one group, not the whole class That group had to drop to froms

Nothing new. It’s near the end of the training where you get your star and then are allowed to carry. Just prior to graduating. They had theirs, were supposed to go into field, but were held back
The Academy is a disaster. Too many recruits at one time. Not enough resources in terms of staff and rooms and lockers. Of course even if a reporter or two investigated, Rham's mouthpiece at the Department would say everything is fine, but it is not. Recruits having class in the cafeteria,(I know, big deal when you went to the academy they didn't have chairs) but not a good environment. Recruits having to carry around two duffel bags with all their equipment because they can't get a locker. And recruits who should just not be in the academy, not all or most, but there are some who are really bad, the worst i have seen in a long time. This will come back to haunt the city like it did in D.C. and Miami a few years back.

Throwing the CAPS people under the bus accomplishes, just what, exactly? They're actually doing a good job in 017 CAPS office since they got some PO's there that know the job. Mollify the citizens, know what they're going to ask about and have an answer for their questions, not, I'll get back to you on that because I don't know how to prepare for a CAPS Meeting because I'm too busy doing personal stuff. If you were as prepared for you job on your beat, you'd be on top of things.
Now, they've had the Lt's at checkoff because JP was told to be there, it's punishment for him too. I'd imagine that damn Rasputin sicced the Inspectors on the troops, he's an ass like that. An Inspectors life revolves around pimpy shit, that's never changed, we're just lucky they've been busy elsewhere.
Answer your calls, drop paper, clear once you're done, not an hour later, don't do anything that voluntarily that will result in having to do an ISR, make a stop or 2 and do a blue card on each, write a parker or 2 and they can kiss your ass. You did what they needed and if they want more, we're sorry, we tried but we were busy. That's how you survive the Stalag.
Off topic but there was a secret Pow-Wow between Vallas and McCarthy and Wilson in which they agreed to play nice and run against Rahm not each other. Back in the late 80's, the city of Miami ended up hiring many Cubans to go with the changing demographics. The problem was that some of them were actually convicts that Fidel Castro released. It came back to might the city in a big way.

I attended the Star ceremony. There was an F2 in C group who had to be 7-8 months pregnant. A who has worked as a PO while pregnant, I asked a PPO about how she could possibly have completed the physical aspects of the tracing and what accommodations would have to be made for her re: completing her cycles. Wouldn’t comment at all about her and she didn’t get much applause from her classmates when she got her star. I found both things odd at the time, now it makes me wonder if she is the person who complained.

With Calloway in charge, there are no standards for physical fitness and discipline. The only white shirt that will stand up to calloway is Snelling. He has to fight Calloway alone to have any discipline in the academy. There is a chain of command for recruits and it was not followed in this case. The HRI and the sgt should be held responsible for the behavior of the C class. I heard this HRI has a interesting past with recruits and again Calloway is protecting her. Just consider that the HRI spends every day for 24 weeks with the same group of recruits and they develop a close bond. So, what happen to this class? All I can say is thank god that Snelling is still assigned to the academy. He is the only resource for instructors who have any problems.

If you had any idea how poor the current state of affairs are in the academy, then you would appreciate Snelling. Every instructor turns to Snelling for advice with recruits. When calloway removed all physical standards for recruits, Snelling push to restore the standards. The latest example of a recruit class being stripped illustrates how poor discipline is at the academy. You complain about his street experience while the staff is grateful for his leadership skills. Someone has to stand up to challenge calloway.

Snelling doesn't testify "against"cops. He testifies about the use of force policy. Sorry if his testimony made you look like an idiot.
