Word up north is that Arena has told the Copernicus Center that if they host the annual Battle of the Badges between CPD and CFD, he'll shut them down for all the other events that they need a permit for: concerts, live theater, concerts, Taste of Polonia, etc.
Can you believe the balls on this asshole?
Not only do we believe it, we expect it from a progressive asshole like this. To mess with a charity event that raises money for officers and firefighters that have made the ultimate sacrifice for the City of Chicago? Sounds exactly like something Arena would do.

De La Salle is smack dab in the middle of the city, between the north and south sides, and conveniently located right off of the highway.
For a citywide event, make it easy and accessible for both sides of the city.
It makes no sense to hold an event like that in the 5200 block of west Lawrence.
Arena may be an idiot, but I’m glad to hear the badges can stay centrally located, so south siders don’t have to charter a damn flight from Midway to O’hare.

Just called Arenas office the other day about a problem in the neighborhood and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I know they could but I would have to tell them I have knowledge they could, but I am one of those guys he hates (CPD). As I write this at 1257 hrs. the planes going over is really loud they must be flying low, and about every 40 to 60 seconds. They have really destroyed the Northwest side. And for the posters that are going to write, you knew you moved near the airport, well it was never like this. And with Rahms 8.5 billon airport expansion we will probably have to live underground to avoid the noise. Can't wait to get out of here.

Battle of the bands. Not the boxing event. Battle of the bands is an event that’s been held for four years at the Copernicus center. It’s gotten bigger each year. It’s a great time and raises mo et for Ignite the Spirit and the Memorial Fund. If this is true, Arena should be sued like Moreno is over the Double Door.

For those that don't know: this is NOT a boxing event. It is a musical event, a "Battle of The Bands" with the groups made up of officers and firefighters. They play off against each other until a winner is declared. Been in existence for several years. All day event, great time.

Might seem central to you, but not to some northsiders. I live at Harlem 7200 West and Touhy. 7200 north so DeLasalle doesn’t seem so centrally located. I have to drive 107 blocks south and 75 blocks east. Close to 200 blocks. Yep, I guess it’s centrally located just a short ride. Just saying

Don't we know that here in Chicago? been living in Edison park for last 16 years. We never had noise till they built the new North runway 3 years ago. Wonder if we can get the noise proof windows the city has been installing for last 20 years around the airport cause of noise. Resale might be tougher now with the runway.

The great majority of the spectators are from the northwest side. Plus parking isn't a problem. It's easy on and off the Kennedy at Lawrence. So, that why in God's name.
De La Salle is at 35th and Michigan. It's on the south east side, not in the center of the city. Quality people (that are woke) don't like to go to 35th and Michigan for a social fundraiser.

Because it won’t work on the fact that we are salary employees, not hourly, therefore the city would have to work the pension into all of this which not only is against contract but it’s going to cost the city more in the long run if it was do-able, which it’s not. Just not possible. Doesn’t work, we are not a business. And the idiots who run this city and who have never worked this job just can’t seem to get it. The logistics are not possible. Not to mention it violates the entire contract.

As I write this at 1257 hrs. the planes going over is really loud they must be flying low, and about every 40 to 60 seconds. They have really destroyed the Northwest side.

De LaSalle is on the southside, not the middle. Right by Comisky Park, as in southside hitmen.
Anything south of 290 is the southside in all intensive purpose.

been living in Edison park for last 16 years. We never had noise till they built the new North runway 3 years ago. Wonder if we can get the noise proof windows the city has been installing for last 20 years around the airport cause of noise. Resale might be tougher now with the runway.

Please join FAIR CHicago (Fair Allocations In Runways). They need your support. The planes are flying routinely under 3,000 feet which is against the FAA rules to save money in fuel costs. Pressure against the FAA by local politicians needs to be stepped up. There are many Chicago politicians against this, but Arena, whose ward is greatly affected by it, is not one of them.
