- An armed person sexually assaulted and robbed a woman Monday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
The 18-year-old woman was walking about 1:50 p.m. in the 500 block of West Englewood Avenue when a male suspect drove up, pulled out a handgun and ordered her to enter his vehicle, according to Chicago Police. He then sexually assaulted and robbed her.
The suspect was described as a 6-foot, 170-pound man with a short fade haircut and a dark complexion, police said. He was wearing a black and white snap-back cap, a white T-shirt and dark blue jeans.
"An armed person..." We're sure all the women in Englewood feel safer knowing that.

So the media's constant refrain of "no description available" or "the Department only gave us this limited info" is just so much bullshit. The Slum Times (and other outlets) deliberately leave out pertinent facts that might actually inform the unsuspecting public.

Somebody should file an FCC complaint. T.V. and radio stations receive their licenses to broadcast, on the premise that they will perform Public Service, as well as make a profit. Yet in the name of Political Correctness, and White Guilt, these stations Fail to Accurately describe the Race of Black offenders. By withholding full descriptions, they in essence HARM THE PUBLIC, and instill greater fear, because the public is denied knowledge of what an actual threat may resemble. In addition, they perform a form of Reverse Racial Profiling by readily describing and showing White and Hispanic offenders, by description and when available photo. There has clearly been a pattern emerging in recent months where the Media is extremely reluctant to show photos or give complete descriptions of Black offenders. Does the Media not understand that we realize Dr.Huxtable is not America's Dad, but instead a Degenerate Criminal? Does the Media think everyone is so Racist, the public might believe that all Blacks are Criminals, if they dare to tell us the truth? Good people are being put in danger by the communists controlling the local papers. One way to fight them is to simply visit their Facebook pages and post links to the CPD releases that contain the descriptions.
Use fake facebook accounts, follow the paper's pages, and refute what they lie about...

As far as the Tribune is concerned, in their Code of Editorial Principlples, it states that the race of a person only belongs in a story if reporters and editors can articulate the relavence to the story. If you write them and question "the relavence" of identifying a subject by race when only generic information other than race is available they refuse to respond. Why not just cooperate with the City and hide the whole thing instead of half ass reporting?
They would rather blatantly lie to the public when they say police didn't give any further description. Not sure of Sun Times policy but would surprise me if it was any different.

My brother is a cell tower inspector and we talked about this when it first came up couple years ago, now my brother who will NEVER hold a phone to his ear explained to me that when you hold the phone to your ear radiation slight amounts is emitted and the more you talk the more your brain absorbs. You need to at least get a headset to keep it away from your head,and children whose skulls and brains are still developing are even more at risk to deadly radiation! Retiree here. Not the first time the detectives were put in the summer mobile force. Been done before can be done again
