Crime is down right? Well, only the killings, and as most Chicagoans are at low risk for actually being shot, it might be important to maintain awareness of other things that happen in the "safer" neighborhoods:
- Robbery reports remain at five-year highs throughout Chicago’s downtown area and Lincoln Park, according to new city data.
The Loop recorded 113 robberies through April 21, a 40% increase over the same time period last year. Compared to 2013, robbery cases are up 197% in the Loop.
The Near North neighborhood, which includes Streeterville, the Magnificent Mile, and River North has seen a more modest 16% year-over-year increase in muggings. The five-year-trend is an ugly 184% increase.
Once again, Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog doing the heavy lifting that the mainstream media is incapable of doing....or unwilling to do. And they're doing it from public sources supplied by the City of Chicago:

Plus, the formerly well trusted professions, primarily health care dominant, have been infected by the indirect effects of the political disease.
The irony in these areas is that the guarantee of being paid, and paid handsomely, via the insurance function of our current economic common practice, leads predictably to the severing of the connection between the cause and effect of natural market factors.
The service provided should = value of is defined by satisfaction in end result.
Not so when insurance pays no matter how far from satisfactory the end result may be.
Thus, professionals in these fields expect to be trusted upon their own presumed dedication to quality service. A presumption not proved to be reliably true quite often these days.
Add to that the consumers' expectation of receiving the satisfaction of perfect end result without paying a substantial to total portion of the charges for service, and dissatisfactions are predominant on both sides of the consumer/provider equation.

I was once in a meeting with Nagode and he flipped out and started throwing people under the bus for some stupid shit he did, he got checked pretty quickly. He has obvious mental health issues but has been allowed to freely torture those who work for him. This has been going on for years and everyone knows about it. When is the city going to give credit to those that really cut the murder rate? The CFD EMT's and the Doctors and Nurses in the Emergency Rooms around the city. The shootings are not down, but the victims are getting treated quicker and the medical personnel have gained much experience in war zone medicine.

Patients getting treated quickly. Why for the last 50 years after they were shot either and ambulance or squad took them to a hospital. How are they getting there quicker. CFD has had EMT’s for years and it seemed years ago they showed up on the scenes quickly. Now they sent firemen in trucks because there are no ambulances available. Years ago county hospital had the reputation for being one of the best trauma center, if not the best in the nation. As far as doctors and nurses with experience in war zone medicine, that bs. You know there was a Viet Nam War and those doctors treated more wounded and war zone medicine 304,000 wounded in Viet Nam, 32,000 in Iraq
