- A man charged with threatening violence at gay bars in Lakeview was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, two days after he was accidentally released from Cook County Jail, officials said.
Shane Sleeper was arrested without incident at about 12:30 p.m. on the North Side by the sheriff’s fugitive apprehension unit, according to Cara Smith, policy chief for Cook County Sherif Tom Dart.
Officials say an apparent communication breakdown between the state's attorney's office and the sheriff's office led to the release of Sleeper, 31, on Tuesday night.
We suppose some blame can also be laid at the feet of the Clerk of the Court, current mayoral candidate and Unnamed Individual #(classified) on numerous Federal wiretaps Dorothy Brown, who hasn't been able to meet numerous deadlines of modernizing and computerizing the Court's systems to prevent the "paperwork" snafus that don't involve a single sheet of paper.

Proof positive we live in a Demorat infested city and county. Biggest lawsuit ever would be the Class Action by victims and next-of-kin against the Crook county justice system. All the victims and death that could have been prevented in the Criminals were actually in jail of charged appropriately for their crimes as opposed to being let loose on the unsuspecting public.............

Who in their right mind, when they are under federal investigation, would even announce a run for mayor in the first place?
Let's look at her record of running the Clerk's office, which is abysmal. Every document that comes into her office should be scanned. And every document that she scans should be available on her website as a PDF. That's what the legal community, the law enforcement community and the public deserve. And nothing less. But noooooooo.
The status quo allows her to maintain an army of step-and-fetch-it patronage workers who work as file clerks. And dole out lucrative storage contracts for the mountains and mountains of paper that must be stored.
And Dorothy Brown thinks she can run the entire City?
Not in a million years.

Brown didn’t help with her spokesman saying they carried the papers over, supposedly 7 hrs later. Carry papers, r u kidding me. You enter the order immediately into the computer and it’s done. But then what computer system in the clerks office, it’s been 17 years, but we are working on it. Only in Cook county

They're calling it a hate and terrorist crime. He's been caught and behind bars.
Completely the Sheriff’s fault it’s in the mitt No Bail. TV Tom pointing fingers at everyone but himself for his wrong doing. Sad thing is some Deputy or supervisor (sergeant or lieutenant) will be severely disciplined and the problem still remains. This has gone on for years, and will continue to happen because Dart is to stupid to figure out how to fix it.
This incident is laid solely at the door of the Sheriff of Cook County. No one else, period! If he would simply admit that person(s) in his department made a mistake, the story would be over. When Dart lies about it and blames others, it becomes a COVER-UP.
