You can't even visit Chicago on summer vacation without being sent home in a coffin:
- A 12-year-old girl was among two people killed Thursday in shootings across Chicago. Seven men were also wounded in shootings during the 24-hour period.
The girl was killed late Thursday in a shooting outside a gathering in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to police. About 11:20 p.m., the girl and a 36-year-old man were outside in the 4200 block of West Wilcox Street, Chicago Police said. The man heard shots and then realized he was shot in the leg.
The girl was shot in her neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. The man’s condition had stabilized.
Phleger and the Parkland circus were nowhere to be found.

She lived in the town of Covert and they are showing her school and church and interviewing all her teachers saying how wonderful she was. Sad for the mother, but good decision eight years ago to move her family (incl 2 younger sons) OUT of Chicago. But she let her daughter spend the long hot summers back in Chicago in the dangerous area of the city. It’s only June 16, we’re just getting started. Amen. How many times does this have to happen before the COMMUNITY (not the police) actually do something about it. ?
People in black and brown communities need to step up. A vigil for 1-2 nights after the fact is not going to do anything. They need to occupy their own blocks and demand that stop - after all those who are doing the shooting live on those same blocks.

Faker's supporters don't care if the Ryan is shut down. It's not like they use it to travel to and from work. She lived in the town of Covert and they are showing her school and church and interviewing all her teachers saying how wonderful she was. ...AND....
