- Attorneys for the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) threatened a defamation lawsuit against an attorney and his clients for claiming that police shot and killed a youth on the West Side this summer.
In a letter authorized by FOP President Kevin Graham, FOP attorney Tim Grace warned attorney Andrew M. Stroth from the Action Injury Law Group that statements made by Stroth and his clients claiming the police shot Steve Rosenthal on August 17 are defamatory.
[...] Grace attacked these statements in his letter to Stroth. Grace warned that if Stroth or his clients continue making such statements, Grace will take legal action on behalf of the officers.
You want to shut some of these loud mouth agitating assholes up and take back control of the narrative? You file the slam dunk cases and hit them with a couple of multi-million dollar judgements when they out-and-out lie. Hit them where it hurts.

SCC - Succinctly stated. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled that Rosenthal committed suicide. FOP has to stem the anti police rhetoric- starting with the IL Attorney General.

Stroth was an entertainment lawyer representing some local news personalities, he decided sometime around 2015/2016 to jump on the ‘civil rights’ anti police bandwagon. He lost a lawsuit to the city of Zion for a police shooting. If this was a good case Loevy and Loevy would have taken it.
I think in this society of You Tube, Face Book and all the other internet sites that those who misrepresent, publicly shame, libel and slander others would be fur-tile grounds for lawyers. I would think it would be fun getting some money from the Injury Action Law Group. Basic city trash may not have assets, a nice judgment would send those in my opinion morons at the Action Law Group back to the street chasing ambulances.
An attorney must perform a reasonable belief that the client assertion is true. Sine that ghetto lottery pump cannot possibly have any valid reason to believe what he asserted, the FOP lawyers should file a complaint for disciplinary action/diabarment.
I think the biggest barrier for getting these type actions moving forward in a timely manner, or at all, is Graham. It appears he just can’t wrap his head around what the FOP should be fighting for.
And I n regards to Grace (one of their better lawyers), I heard many coppers say he did an excellent job representing them in interviews and even in a recent board trial. Give criticism where it’s due, and there is enough to pass around in regards to what led to this mess. But, Grace is one of those guys trying to turn it around.
