Arena Opponent Needs Signatures
We've seen plenty of people not happy with Alderasshole Arena bitching here. We've given them plenty of space. Now it's time to put in some effort:
- I’m having trouble with the website right now but if you could post something on the blog about helping me get signatures this last week before the deadline Monday 26Nov18 I would deeply appreciate it. I have double the required signatures but I have been advised that I need 3-5 times that amount to help guard against the political funny business of challenging signatures to knock you off the ballot. I am for more Police being assigned to the 16th district.
I am for working to keep our soaring property taxes low to keep more of our hard earned money in our pockets.
I am for creating a citizen advisory zoning board to look at possible developments in the ward before going to the Alderman for approval.
I sincerely thank you for any help or suggestions you have. I really need my brothers and sisters help to get on the ballot and oust John Arena and send him back to New Jersey

FYI there are at least 2 others running against Arena... one of them is CFD. Need to figure out who had the strongest chance to win.

Ive met Officer Dailey, he would be a great Alderman. Very knowledgeable! He’s got my vote!
A Chicago firefighter, Jim Gardiner, and long time resident of the ward is also running for the 45th.
This is HUGE! We need to get out the vote for this guy like never before! Arena goes against his constituents wishes time after time with arrogance. He is a rotten human being and needs to be voted out. Area is a danger to the NW side
Area needs to go! Can anyone think of one positive thing he has done for the ward?
Good luck to anybody who challenges Arena. Not only does he have the Democratic Party behind but also the Sevice Employee's International Union. And get ready to be smeared.
Solid Guy, pun intended. Sincerely wants to do good for us and the citizens of that ward. He’s careful who he makes his bed with because he wants to stay true to the cause. He’s passionate about his positions and deserves a shot.

I will expend more effort over the next 3 months.
My yard sign is ordered.

Why doesn't Aimee Kessem run? She has name recognition and is a very solid person! Nothing against this guy but why did he wait until now to collect signatures? Any real candidate knows that it's very hard to beat an incumbent DemocRAT in Chicago. It sounds like Mr Dailey is weak. I would like to see Arena gone, let's solidify behind Aimee and take Arena out!
I suggest he hire somebody to actually knock out his competition signatures.
Very expensive process but it keep the other candidates money from being used for Turkeys and free give aways at the senior home.
And he only has till Monday and has missed the earl filing which was a few days ago.

My vote is going to Bob Bank for 45th ward alderman. He has been very instrumental in fighting Arena's BS.
Time to do work and start the process to get rid of Arena or we are all gonna be sorry.
What this ward and every ward needs is an alderman who isn’t a politician. Someone who isn’t a politician to come and upend everything and start from scratch. Someone who isn’t running because he/she wants to run but someone who is being dragged kicking and screaming by others who know this is the right person for the job. Not sure who that person is but this guy Sounds like another politician to me. They all sound the same. “Vote for me because I’ll do this, this and this.”

Okay I misspoke and I take back what I just wrote...just learned Dailey is a cop. Maybe Dailey is just who I described. Someone who is not a politician and should run.
He asked for suggestions and here’s mine: Don’t start with “I’m pro unions”. Sounds like what a politician would start with IMO. Start with, “I’m a just a regular guy. I’m not a politician. And here’s what needs to change:” Then list your solutions. E. g. “More police in 16th district”
BUT be honest. The alderman can want more cops and that doesn’t mean shit as you should already know. So lay into Johnson and Emanuel. They decide where cops are assigned not the alderman. Shine a light on them. Explain where all the cops are and why. You need to speak the truth. You need to speak the truth even if it jeapodizes your job as a cop. You want to win, right?
Say taxes are high, then explain why. Explain that we have higher taxes from years and years of incompetency. Decades of democratic control in the city county and state and no opposition.
Explain how you would fight for lower taxes. ( How DOES an alderman change taxes BTW? Can he even make difference here?)
If you are a democrat (I hope you’re not) explain why you’re different. Because I don’t think most are. Most Chicago Dems are cookie cutter versions of the same thing.
Avoid social issues. Stick to things you can make a diiference with. Tell me how you’ll make the city safer, more affordable, cleaner. Not why gay marriage and public transgender bathrooms are necessary.
Also address your name. Contrast yourself as different from the last Daley. And go into detail.
Arena is a punk period, Sir you have my vote..........

Jim gardiner is the best bet. conservative fireman. Lives by rosedale park. CFD west side fireman so he understands not to let another 5150 nw hwy come about. It would be a great addition to sposato and naps.

Shady Rotten Section8’Arena has his dopes manufacturing registrations last year.
45W - Check your voting record, check polling lists, if you or neighbors moved - purge those names off these lists, don’t allow Section8’Arena dopes to attach one of their homeless refugees to occupy that precinct address.
On another point, PorkWrinkle was in line at Bd of Elections Monday morning at 9 a.m. with her signature petitions, likely 90% County employees who signed them ...on company time. Who’s going to check....hmmmmm ?
So, did PorkWrinkle call in sick that day or was she paid to stand in line on County time to campaign?
The FakeNews had time to interview her but excluded that tidbit or maybe they favorably overlooked that Ethics violation.

I hope that they do not split the votes and as a result Arena gets reelected.
It would be helpful if the candidates would present their backgrounds and platforms on this website. Are they Democrat, Republican, Independent. Who are they aligned with. If anybody knows them could you let them know. It should be pointed out that this process is only to get to get their name on the ballot to run for alderman. You can only sign a petition for one. If you sign multiple petitions then those will cancel each other out. The Machine really scrutinizes these petitions and challenges signatures so sign with the complete name that you use on the voters list.
Great guy, worked with him. Just vote for him. Good for arena and his SEIU backing but be he has to go against the brotherhood of CPD and CFD.
Guy is a great person I've known him for more than 10 years and if I lived in the 45th ward he would definitely get my vote. I also have been going out and getting signatures for him.
Arena is a "Progressive", from only God knows where. He hates the police and went out of his way to seek discipline for cops who exercised their First Amendment Right on Social Media. Never lose sight of the Reality, that the Left Progressives, are all about Control and Big Government, and Arena is one of them. He will install welfare recipients in the Ward, and create a hardcore constituent base Dependent upon Government. This guy is a carbon copy of Helen Schiller, the Commie Aldercreature who changed the demographics of Uptown. And in so doing, set back the development and economic feasibility of the area. Since Schiller left, the area is developing and new construction is everywhere. Though violent crime remains, due to Schiller's scattered site housing. For many years Uptown had the largest dumping of Scattered Site Housing on the Northside, and Helen loved it. Expect the same from Arena. Stay Safe and Strong. Baby "G"

Arena will file complaints against both of them for having the nerve to run against him. Arena is an asshole. His secretary is a liar. How about Arena's buddy getting locked up for stalking and harassing people who disagree online with Arena. Arena and Leslie Perkins are against free speech.
My name is Gary Dailey, one of Guy Dailey’s four brothers, he also has one sister who is married to a CPD Officer. My Brother is a extremely intelligent, diligent and hard working man.He’s a Born and raised Portage Park boy who grew up in Portage Park on Mango ave just north of Irving Park road. Our parents were factory workers at Contential Can company on Cicero and Kilpatrick where the current Walmart stands today. Our parents raised 6 children plus my Grandmother in a 2 bedroom one bath home. The apartment on the second floor had two very old people as tenants, we needed the space but the old couple wouldn’t have been able to afford to live anywhere else so my parents kept them. Me and Guy would sleep in sleeping bags on the floor. Guy has always been very hard working and has a big heart. To the cowardly anonymous people who said he isn’t very smart with a due respect go blank yourself !! He mentions unions because my parents were union workers at Contential Can Company. He understands the difference between public and private sector unions. He has many accommodations with CPD for his police work. He’s taken in two stray abused dogs from the 15 district and made them his own. We grew up with the Levar family who worked at portage park at that time. My Brother has seen many changes in Chicago over the years, some good, some bad and he wants to restore the residents of his ward in having a voice again!! My Brother is a good man, give him a chance!!

With more than one opponent it appears the douche has already won.
We need someone who can run strong in the south end of 45 where Arena's base is concentrated. I'm all in for whoever beats Area, first objective is to force him into a runoff. Garrido is CPD, and Hispanic. He peeled a hot of Hispanic votes away from Arena but still couldn't eek out a win.
The ward is far more progressive with all the young families that have moved in from points east. That combined with the remap, where the conservative votes were split, doesn't bode well for a conservative leaning candidate. I'm conservative myself, but know how to count. I don't see a path to victory for a conservative leaning candidate, the votes just aren't there.
Look at the numbers. The Chicago Board of Elections have a breakdown for the most recent elections, ward and precinct. Martwick ran strong throughout the 45th Ward against Aimee Kessem. The municipal races are non partisan, but voters will look at a candidates affiliation. The SEIU will send out mass mailings against any conservative leaning candidate who threatens their boy Arena.
I can't stand the SOB, but with his voting base and the SEIU, he's going to be very hard to beat.
It's not just the number of signatures you get that matters. The signatures most importantly must be legible so they can be proven as a registered voter. That is the most important requirement. If the signature can not be read, you can not verify them as a registered voter. It also must be a real name. Watch out for people signing their names as Mickey Mouse, The Seven Dwarfs dopey, sleepy etc or other famous names, Robin Hood, or movie character names.
Let's keep it simple, get rid of the "anti Arena hydra", and let's all support and get behind one solid candidate who has a real chance beating Arena. These candidates are just filibustering the votes and doing Arena a favor.
Your wrong, Arena is not supported by the Democratic Party. Arena is part of the Progressive Party.
These candidates need to band together and pick the one who has the best chance of beating Arena. The others can run for Alderman next election when Arena is gone and working for Preckwinkle. DONT SPLIT THE VOTE!!!!

Cop/fireman isn’t the answer.
Garrido was a great candidate and got beat by 27 votes in 2011, largely because cops and their families didn’t bother voting in the runoff.
Garrido got beat in the 2015 rematch by 1200 votes, after the ward was remapped to include more liberal voters around Independence Park.
Pick a candidate and make sure your whole family votes.
Keep him under 50% to force the runoff.
The candidate who can beat him in the runoff needs to be able to appeal across the whole ward.
Remember that when you chose.
Jeff Park should be the next Lincoln Square because of its excellent location and quality housing stock.
Think which candidate will make that happen.
This election is about preserving your property value and a candidate with wide appeal who opposes giant housing projects is the answer.
I don't live north, but if I did I would go with the FF. Don't know the PO, but it seems a bit fishy to me that he jumped in at this late date. Seems the PO wants to take votes from the FF. Just my opinion, but I believe I am right. (and I am).

I agree. Mr. Arena must be happy with this new development. Maybe he will not challenge the petitions as Mr. Guy with siphon off votes from the fireman.I'm sure the policeman is a nice guy but this is not a positive development for those opposed to Mr. Arena.
Hey numbskulls, more opponents increases the chance that Arena doesn’t win outright in February and #2 gets a good crack at him in the April run off.
