Another version of what police work might be like, brought to you by the ACLU:
- Members of the Seattle Police Department are battling community activists and the ACLU, who are targeting the new contract that the police department is seeking, and strong rumors have been floated that various members of the nine-member Seattle City Council will vote against the contract’s approval when the vote is taken on Tuesday. Seven aye votes of the Council are needed to pass the contract.
The contract has already been overwhelmingly approved by the Seattle Police Officer’s Guild, but rumors persist that Councilmembers Kshama Sawant and Mike O’Brien will vote against the contract.
Last month, Chief Carmen Best told the Jason Rantz Show, “We need to have this contract go through. We are not going to be able to provide effective public safety, in my opinion, unless we fairly compensate the officers. Too many officers will leave. They’ve worked too hard. No one expects nurses, or teachers, or anyone else to work without a contract. Why should the officers have to do that?”
Seattle has a relatively small Department when compared to Chicago and even they are bleeding personnel at a rate never before seen with lateral transfers, retirements and outright resignations with little-to-no interest in job seekers.

Suck it libtards... you get the policing you so desperately wanted, and now you're freaking out because TA DA! Criminals don't behave?
Excuse me, but HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
How far north is that Big Quake supposed to knock part of the west coast into the Pacific?
Seattle has 9 city Council members while Chicago has a wapping 50! I know Seattle is a bit smaller but what a contrast. On another note...come June Chicago Police will be two years without a contract and probably will hit 3 years. What a disgrace! Again
Wait for this happening here also.
“Soon”
Only if the FOO gets off its fat asses and starts putting heat on the city to actually negotiate the new contract in the first place. The fact that we may go almost 3 years without one before a new contract is settled on, is ridiculous.
Coming to Chicago next!
I am ready to leave and retire from this City of Chicago forever!
The liberals will get what they sew.
Ah the left coast in action. Watch closely folks it could be your contract next on the ACLU chopping block.
ACLU believes police should not be allowed to carry semi automatic hand guns. Would prefer 22 or 38 pistols.
Seattle will experience a transition in policing whether they want to or not. Its called the Portland method. I have a buddy in San Fran and he said the entire west coast is garbage. He said stay in and lateral in non coastal red states or you are going to end up as poop police. There is little respect for law and even less for the police along the west coast.
The police should work for free and leave THE COMMUNITY alone. Idiots.
Ply those negative voters with Starbucks Coffee to the point it speeds up the slated atrophing of the brain cells it was designed for.The Starbucks Zombies will vote your way then.
Who would want to be the police today? Even my inadequate public school education taught me to read enough four letter words to be able to read the writing on the wall. “No police is good, everyone for themself”.
More liberal idiots!
They are ground zero for left liberal bullshit
Speaking of transfers, retirements, resignations and little interest in the job. Most districts are averaging 5-7 years seniority. Take the Englwood district for instance, you only need 6.. THAT'S RIGHT, 6 years to bid to 2nd watch. And all of the management spots on days are filled by people with 2-3 years that have been on days since their training cycles. No one is sticking around anymore. Or those with time are finding units to finish their career. This job is dead. Too many people that can't think for themselves, that are easily manipulated to produce whatever and get out there and do whatever. Not a good look for the department. And management are merit. So, RIP policing in chicago. Gone but never forgotten
The chicago police department is also turning into a meat grinder. Hear a lot of the younguns talking about doing something else. Still in law enforcement, but not in this shithole.
And our contract? Lol. I can't believe people still sign up for this job. I mean seriously. I know we will always need police of course but I really question the individual who signs up for this job after knowing what they know today. The only two reasons I signed up was for a pension and the right to CCW as a copper. Now anyone legal can CCW and the pension is a mess; constantly under attack.
Why would anyone take this job? I was in pharmacy school at UIC and would have earned 2x what I made on job but took for the pension. My ex-wife and I both talked her two children out of not becoming the police. Both she and I were on the job and the kid's biological father did same. Neither are on the job.
I'm just curious on how many of you with older kids are pushing your kids towards the job. I would love to see some replies. I have my own kid now in 2nd grade and I just retired and I don't even think she remembers me being on the job at this point. She is already talking about becoming a doctor. Sure she is 8 years old but she's been saying this since she was 5 years old. My primary doctor and her pediatrician both stated they knew they wanted to be doctors since they were in primary school.
If you have small kids push them away from this job.
It seems that every state touching the Pacific Ocean has gone off the deep end.
I hope the usual suspects humbug, showboat, bear witness and give testimony against whatever our next contract is to delay and get me across the line at 2%.
Do I hear an Amen, ya’ll?
So the Seattle city council approved the contract with only one "no" vote from their most socialist member. However, the contract now has to be reviewed by the judge in charge of the federal consent decree. He has already commented about his concerns with the contract before it was approved or actually having seen it. You can guess where that is going to go. Seattle is just little Chicago.
Who the fuck would want to be the poleece in that fucked up on steroids liberal shithole city?
Their contract was approved a few days ago by their city council.

They want the police out, period. Cool. I say oblige them. Then send 10,000 of our finest south or west side shithheads to them so they can show us their liberal compassion...in the a sense of a police force. That would be amusing
If Taxwinkle or Lightfoot would get elected you’d have BLM, etc. sitting in on our contract negotiations
"There is little respect for law and even less for the police along the west coast."
In the cities. Work for a suburban police department or a county sheriff, and you'll do fine.
Portland suburbs have no problems recruiting cops - it is the Portland Police Bureau having recruiting problems.
I said this once, I will say it again: Why any Police Officer would vote Democratic is beyond me! Think about this for a minute. How come the Men and Women of the Chicago Police Department has gone 2 years without a contract? How come? Who runs Chicago? It is the Democratic Party. Their actions speak louder than their words. If they REALLY BACK THE POLICE A CONTRACT WOULD HAVE BEEN RATIFIED BY THE city counsel two years ago. That can't blame this on President Trump. Could it be because the Democratics don't want to upset their base or could it be that the Democratics really do not have out backs?
The ACLU is anti police. Always have always will !!!!!

Been that way for years. Hard to put heat on the city. They know how to stall , get continuances, negoitiate just enough so you can’t go to arbitration
I work out in Oregon after leaving IL. Small town. Once you leave the cities people still respect the police.
Having said that the profession still sucks and it's best to just get out altogether

We note with amusement that liberals/progressives
have been fleeing the left coast beds they have
shit through down to the box springs and are spreading
their nonsense to other states.
Especially obnoxious are the ones from
that wretched rest home of progressive fuckery,
Commie-fornia...
The stink of that nasty old broom-riding Sea Hag
Nancy Pelosi is S T R O N G on any/all
in her proximity.
Quite a few have taken residence in Arizona and New Mexico,
Nevada is lost...
They've ruined Colorado with their lunacy to the point
where the northern counties were trying to secede from
the rest of the state.
Texas?
They're trying to take Texas blue by hijacking
the larger cities.
The Mountain States/High Plains?
Not "metropolitan" enough for the typical
liberal/progressive.
The Mid/Deep South excluding Florida?
Too many bitter gun and religion clingers
for the typical liberal/progressive.
Decent people are running out of places
to seek shelter in that liberals haven't
stuck their asses into and shit all over.
Reminds of the report of some hipster
caught in flagrante while taking a shit
into a U.S. Mail box...

Just you wait until a member of Dude Inc. is standing over
the bed of a sleeping ACLU member...
Bulge-eyed...
Hard-Dicked...
Mouth-Breathing...
>One eye opens<
>Confusion<
>Disbelief<
>Sheer Bed-Shitting Terror<
...That mouth-wide-open silent scream
and the split second realization that
so much of what they believed in turned
out to be not so...
>Innie being turned into an Outie<
But The Police are the problem.
Right?

Thanks for the insight, Betsy Ross.
The protection we have is the contract automatically goes into effect something like 30 days once approved by the officers
Some of the council don't want to pay the huge retro checks some of the cops are due. A lot of them are just waiting for those and then they'll retire. In Washington if you retire before the contract if ratified the city is under zero obligation to pay retro that they earned.
I spent 30 minutes reading the links. OMG, what a shitshow! You guys complain about Arena, he is nothing compared to their Sawant character.

Not true, have no idea where you came up with that. Our contract has to be approved by the city council before it comes into affect
Departments in such places will be forced to hire complete mouth-breathers to fill positions (as demanded by the same community that wants to sink contracts). Fuckups will increase because you get what you pay for. Said fuckups will be used by the same assholes as evidence that the police are bad.
All part of the plan.

Now that is a funny comment. Sew. Betsy Ross.
Gotta watch out for those troubling homonyms.
Thanks for the laugh.
You can try talking your kid outta coming on the job but they are gonna do what THEY wanna do. Good luck telling most adult kids of yours what to do anymore. I swear they do the exact opposite just because.
