- Ald. Roberto Maldonado (26th) said Wednesday that the Mercy Hospital shooter previously worked as a summer intern at his Northwest Side aldermanic office.
“He had a very, very pleasant personality,” Maldonado said of [dead asshole], noting that his internship lasted for about eight weeks in either 2016 or 2017.
[...] The alderman said the city runs the internship program and that he didn’t personally choose [dead asshole] or know him before he applied for the job. “I think he was the only person who applied. You have to be a college student to apply,” he said.
“Interns are not assigned to do much of significance, they’re basically gofers for the very limited staff that we have… He had no decision making authority,” Maldonado said, adding that [dead asshole] mostly was tasked with shuffling papers and getting coffee.
Because aldercreatures are in the habit of welcoming strangers into their offices and giving them scut work without knowing who they are, where they came from and referring them out for other political jobs once they're done. Which aldercreature said, "We don't want nobody that nobody sent"?

You arent getting anywhere near an aldermans office without either being related or being tight with them. And you arent getting hired at Cha without the blessing of an alderman or other politician. There is a DNA article about this Aldercreature from April 18, 2016. It highlights how he is a big complainer about holding police officers and the Commanders accountable for the spike in crime in his ward. Alderdipshit whined about traffic stops being down and how he felt it wasn't right, while having community meetings with Commanders Escamerit and Fabian Saldano. Maybe that's who Escamerit was catering to when he wrote a memo to his subordinates about demanding a minimum number of ten traffic stops? This goof is also quoted as saying "I'll be the one with brass, traveling my ward with my gun."
Whoa, take it easy there, Alder-Tough Guy. Just make sure you wear your cape and Batman utility belt when you're out playing vigilante.

I noticed this wasn't mentioned in The Chicago Tribune, just the Sun-Times. That's not a surprise to me. It isn't the first time I've seen the Tribune shy away from publishing a story that makes the Machine look bad. It's almost like City Hall doesn't want to look like they are part of a code of silence, so it's like they give the Sun-Times permission to run the story since they have lower readership, and then hope it never gets brought up again. Either that or the Tribune is just a sub par periodical that is scared of publishing any credible news. Are they still busy trying to make that Robbins security guard shooting the next Michael Brown or Laquan McDonald fiasco? But in police body-cam video obtained by CBS 2, officers question whether Maldonado is asking for preferential treatment.

Maldonado has a female opponent named Siaw who runs health clinics for low income folks and has loaned her campaign $190k. When she handed out free turkeys last week, the beneficiaries were asked to sign her petition, so she has the arm-twisting down. Another female opponent named Angee is the wife of an LK. Rounding out the field is David Herrera, a college-educated neighborhood guy, who typically pulls a Republican ballot and has a relative in CPD. Which means he has an uphill battle, but neighbors in West Town seem to be rallying around him.

I like how everybody said he threatened to shoot up the fire academy yet not a single word about that appears documented anywhere. Who did he say that to? Why wasn't it reported? Why weren't people at the academy warned about his threats so they could be aware?
