There were several different CPD families (not identified) that picked out stuff on Amazon for chartible CPD membersto to anonymously purchase some of the items the needy family wanted.
The last needy family listed has an IPad, Uug boots and slippers among other expensive items listed.
Those are not items a needy person would need. How sad that a charitable effort (to help truly needy CPD Officer families) turned into a one family’s greed.

I just buried my mom six weeks ago and dad passed on eleven years ago. This is all straightforward unless you can talk the funeral home/family members into looking the other way. What I am saying is that there is no way to do what has been alleged, unless you can get family to cooperate.

That would be a great start to turn this sinking ship around. Chicago is so behind when it comes to attracting candidates. The antiquated residency requirement is ridiculous and damaging to getting and keeping police officers. There are so many quality people living in the suburbs that may have wanted to be a Chicago Police Officer but just don’t want to live here. So they take their talents to a suburban department. How many suburban cops reside in Chicago? Probably 1 or 2 tops. If the city doesn’t want to fully eliminate the residency how about only require it for the first 5-10 years. Residency is a killer!

Eliminating residency is exactly what won't happen. This is about getting jobs for democratic voters. The mayor couldn't care less about "quality" people. He cares about keeping the machine running. This department doesn't even have a language requirement anymore. Going on some jobs is like talking to a help desk on the phone. They want to help, but can't get the right words. We're going to need translators at court for the officers soon.

Nope. They fix it by the time you check out. The swipe and the computer input will show the correct time but a timekeeper wont check them. They will just dock you the 15 minutes
