Mutiny?

So this (allegedly) happened at HQ regarding all those phone calls, texts and emails to attend the police exam:
  • So... Barb West wanted the commanders to make those telethon calls for the job applicants. Seems most said Nope. Maybe a bit of a mutiny brewing?
Be careful - they might still hang mutineers. Still, it's obvious everyone with something to lose is sitting in their holding pattern until after the election.

Barb West, make your own fucking calls.
You're just 2 steps away from a cubicle
at a boiler room call center anyway.

All the Gold Stars on this job aren’t worth what they get paid. The Department gets bring in other law enforcement officers to tell the Department Gold Stars how to run things here.

Big joke!

Barb can reprise her role as The "Midnight Pillow Fairy" in
order to drum up communerty interest in taking the exam.

Laughing so hard at the mental visual of her fluttering
around on stubby wings clutching a pillow while spewing
pixie dust and waving a magical star-on-a-stick.

it has come to be thanks to morally bereft creatures
like Barb West and those who created and enabled her.

Good Lord. I'd love to hear some of those phone calls if true. Maybe they could use a couple of retired Exempts as well?

Hello? Yeah Jive Turkey, this retired Commander Kenneth Johnson. Don't you still wanna be a cop? It's a good job with some righteous benefits. You dig? And after you become the PoPo I can hook you up with investing in the meritorious promotional program. You can't pay me until you get hired though sucka.

Yeah kid. This Ed Kulbida. Listen, I'm supposed to be talking to you about the police exam but fuck all that shit for now. I got a guy that's got the inside track on a horse race that's going to be happening this Sunday in Miami. He said the underdog horse is called "Thief's Retirement" and it's a lock to come in first. If you could float me a lotta dough, me and you won't have to worry about working ever again.

Yes, this is the exalted Commander and high ruler of the 025th district, Anthony Escamilla speaking. Shut the fuck up! I'm giving you a direct order to take the Chicago Police Department job immediately! Make sure you get me an event number while you are down there as well! Afterwards, you are to report to my office to buy Christmas party tickets. You can pick up my son from school on your way over to the station. You fucking got that you peasant?! Good-bye you piece of shit!

Duh.....This is Sanchez. Do you know anything about gangs? Duh.......

You stupid, stupid child. How you gonna expect to be able to get into the circus and get to ride a Camel if you don't take the job? Don't you like the circus? You probably racist. We don't want yo kind on the police force any damn way.

Look, I'm not going to pour syrup over this shitty police department and tell you it's a CPD waffle. It sucks really bad sometimes. Do you think I wanted to go on the news and tell everybody that the subway is safe? I'm not an idiot. But sometimes you have to say things that you were told. Man, fuck it. Don't join. It really isn't worth it. Oh shit! Barb West just walked in....I gotta go. Don't join. Become a fireman!(phone gets disconnected)

I would’ve told them no too. It’s not my job to waste my time and try and convince people to join the department at the worst time. Nobody wants to be the police. Nobody. Sure the pay is nice, but who would knowingly join this job when it’s public knowledge that your bosses will throw you under the bus in an instant, criminals walk free even with air tight cases because of our pathetic excuse of a State’s Attorney, not to mention the public sides with criminals more than the police. NO THANK YOU!

It's a shame really. If you think about highly qualified applicants who are on the fence, and would make a difference (or at least do the job), getting a call from a gold star would be a good thing. Of course, somebody would have had to screen who was getting called, but that would be like work.

I cannot say I blame anyone for not wanting to take the test to come on the job as the police now days. Especially for CPD and the city of Chicago, so glad I turned down the offer when I moved here from texas 9 years ago. I am a former Johnson County Texas sheriff deputy and we never had the kinds of bs you guys have to go thru on a daily basis. Stay strong, but most of all watch out for yourself and your partner since the bosses and city sure the hell wont.

This is one of the things that is wrong with this department, among many. Why would you ever hire someone who can't remember or want to go to the test? The higher ranking persons in this department show they are so far detached from reality.

Barb West is a shining example of what is wrong on this department. Useless, lazy POS as a blue shirt so of course she is now a chief. Hey media why don't you do a forensic background on her, to see exactly what she did each step of the way to deserve all her promotions.

Perhaps the CPD should give preference to HS students in ROTC with a decent GPA with no college. Move military applicants to the front of the hiring list. Drop the 60 credit HR college requirement because you don't need a degree to do this job as a blue shirt. Keep tuition reimbursement and require a min of 60 credit hours for promotion to FTO, Detective, Agent and other, D2-D2A rank, require a four-year degree from an accredited college for sergeant and LT and all Exempt rank (civilian or sworn) require a masters level degree. This should draw in a larger pool of Chicagoans that do not have to relocate from the suburbs or neighboring states.

On an unrelated Domestic Battery job and ran into the great African American Sheriff Clark from Wisconsin in the elevator, he bought a unit at J-Fleds old building. IG rumor is they’ve given Eddie until January 1st to fire Tony Escamilla. Wasn’t the last time Eddie killed an IG investigation when it was to protect his wife? The investigation was killed, the IG got reappointed and everyone was happy. Maybe Eddie gets a few well connected IG folks into the burgeoning civilian leadership structure at CPD to save Tony this time. Can you imagine if you weren’t a gold star or sleeping with Eddie-you’d be fired for much less than stealing a lieutenant promotion or turning CAPS into your private day care / school bus. Probably even for a justified use of force.
