Gas Prices Fall - Raise Taxes!

  • Gas prices dropped 29 cents per gallon in November while the wholesale cost of American goods and services ticked up only slightly in a sign of softening inflation pressures, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

The producer price index, which measures cost changes of products before they’re sold to the U.S. public, rose just 0.1 percent last month. Overall, wholesale prices have risen 2.5 percent since this time last year. That is the smallest annual increase of 2018.
Which moron was it who said the US couldn't drill it's way to lower gas prices? Oh yeah, Sparklefarts. What a dumbass.

In the meantime, what does a good democrat do when people get to keep more of their hard earned money? Raise taxes!
  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel and a group of suburban leaders on Tuesday called for a 20 to 30 cent per gallon increase in the state’s gas tax to fund a major statewide transportation bill.

Emanuel spearheaded the push during a City Hall news conference in which he was joined by a handful of suburban mayors and regional planners. The mayor’s office also released a list of 26 suburban mayors and village presidents who supported the tax increase.

“We are facing a historic moment, and I stand with a group of bipartisan mayors on behalf of a new transportation bill that should happen in Springfield,” Emanuel said alongside the mayors of Park Forest, Hazel Crest, Oswego, Fox River Grove, Joliet, Batavia, Broadview and Ford Heights.
And the exodus out of Illinois gets yet another boost.

USGS just announced that in the Delaware Basin of Texas and New Mexico they've discovered an additional 46 Billion barrels of oil, 281 T-Trillion cubic feet of Natural Gas, and 20 Billion Barrels of Liquified Gasses. New Mexico already is reaping Billions in surplus to the State's budget now, without any additional drilling. If these deposits are recoverable, some are now and new techniques beyond Fracking may make most of it so, then this country becomes one of the major global petro-players for many decades. This also changes the strategic security of the United States and friends, Internationally, from "please please please don't shake our gas pump chain" to "yeah, but go fuck yourself assholes."

Let the tax fatten scum go ahead and raise the gasoline tax by 30 cents. I will leave the state and go straight back to Michigan and scrub toilets if I have to. I have had enough of these arrogant, worthless scumbag vermin to last me a lifetime. It truly enrages me and I would use even fouler language on Rahm, but I do not want to get this post deleted. Every time we get a break. Lower prices on anything, they immediately go after us for more tax money to waste and steal. Scum, vermin. They should try cutting back their bloated sorry government for a freaking change. Screw them, all of them and Rahm and the horse he rode in on.

There is no escaping the two taxes. So if you drive your car to work you will be taxed under Rahm's proposal of 30 cents per gallon. If you want to avoid that tax, take the CTA to work but be aware you could be stopped by a redistribution of the wealth tax collector and sometimes it could result in a higher progressive tax rate. And there could be severe penalties for non payment.

Try ending all the graft that surrounds every mile of road construction and you could lower gas taxes. Why is raise taxes the only solution these idiots can come up with. Is it because they get a kickback from every mile built or rebuilt? In Missouri the people get to vote on gas tax increases not the crooked politicians who profit from sub-par road construction.

With the possibility of a graduated income tax in Illinois, the wealthy will share more of the tax burden. Guess who makes enough income to be considered wealthy in this state? You'd be right to say anyone earning 70k or more per year. Sounds very similar to a certain jobs starting pay. Quit thinking your middle class, because your not.

One party rule. They control the governor's seat, the attorney generals office, the legislature, the hand picked judges on all levels, all committees in the legislature and all taxing powers unopposed. So why is anyone surprised personal wealth is to be confiscated through punitive taxation and rightfully redistributed? You can thank the construction unions who sent the membership's dues via political campaign contributions to all those democrat candidates. Its Illinois so its time to collect a return on your political investments.

This is nothing un expected. You elect Democrats in particular and you can for sure expect your taxes to increase. They need MORE of your money to give to others. This is how government works so stop bitching and dig into your pockets. Pritzker actually said he is going to raise taxes and he was elected by a wide margin. Rahm does a terrible job as Mayor and he was re elected. And Madigan since 1970 is always re elected even with many of my police, fire and other city worker friends as well as my family members in Chicago Lawn sporting his signs in their yards. So what the hell? Pay up gang.

USGS just announced that in the Delaware Basin of Texas and New Mexico they've discovered an additional 46 Billion barrels of oil

At 20.5 million barrels a day of consumption, 46 billion barrels lasts you only about 2300 days.  That's not even 7 years.

Net US imports are still almost 2.8 million barrels a day.  With today's low prices a lot of shale producers will run out their credit lines and start going bankrupt.  Without revenue to cover pumping costs, they'll shut down.

Even if they do cover costs on existing wells, they will have no money to drill new wells.  The decline rate of fracked shale wells is very high, dropping by half in a year or so.  Long story short, when the credit bubble in the shale industry pops we are going to see a rapid (if not immediate) increase in oil imports and world oil prices.

Paying an extra 30¢/gallon in taxes now means a lot fewer people buying gas-guzzling trucks that they'll have repoed after prices go back up and they have to choose between filling the tank and paying the car loan.  2 years from now the people who sold their trucks and bought hybrids cheap are going to look like geniuses.

Time to start taxing mileage for electric and hybrid vehicles. They use the roads but do not pay any road use taxes used to fund and maintain roads.

My brother is also planning on moving to another state he has 30 other states where he can work for this company and said the costs here are already astronomical, and are hurting many businesses and he talks to many movers and shakers and they are looking to relocate elsewhere also, the exodus continues at an even more rapid rate.

The City Council is certainly jumping all over Burke and trying to distance themselves.
Dodge, divert and deny whatever it takes to change the subject and mindset of the voting public in case vote harvesting isn’t enough.

But again, another State issue that Rahm is hawking and doing the bidding for an obvious inept governor JB (kin to a failed savings bank that stiffed local mom and pop depositors of $10 million).
RottenRahm even said he wants the greenies to pay their fair share - for the using an electric car, as well as driver license and plate fee increases.
I’m sure there will be Sanctuary City members that will be exempt or subsidized for lower rates.
So, who died and made Rahm the Illinois comptroller or basically the finance minister?

The FakeNews got an option from PugNastyWrinkles. There’s no doubt she will act on a gas tax for both city and county, including commuters, but not before April 2020. Keeping those CPS tax levy’s intact and the meager 2% pension contribution untouchable..

Notice that The FakeNews is doing their best to keep the legitimate Old White Male Candidates stifled?

Never trust a Democrat or the FakeNews that promotes them.
