Eating Their Own

If you tried to sell this script in Hollywood, they'd laugh you out of town:
  • Susana Mendoza tried Tuesday to drag her mayoral rivals down into the mud with her after the latest shoe dropped in a burgeoning corruption scandal that now involves three of her powerful political patrons: Aldermen Edward Burke (14th) and Danny Solis (25th) and Il. House Speaker Michael Madigan.

Mendoza went to work hours after the Chicago Sun-Times detailed the federal corruption allegations that prompted Solis, chairman of the City Council’s Zoning Committee, to spend more than two years secretly recording more than a dozen conversations with Burke, the former longtime Finance Committee chairman, as movers and shakers sought city actions.

The newspaper also reported that the FBI secretly recorded Madigan trying to get business for his private law firm from a developer brought to him by Solis, who was weighing the developer’s request to build a hotel in Chinatown.
And the next fifteen or so paragraphs is Mendoza naming names and blaming every single politician she's come into contact with. Honestly, we were waiting for her to name Herbie "Herb Dilla" and the city sticker debacle as having ties to the Illinois Political Combine.

Too bad Vallas doesn't have any financial backing or he would be making some inroads into higher polling numbers.

Doesn’t matter. Chicago taxpayers love having crooked scumbags ruling over them. The assholes get caught red handed and still get elected. Take Jabba the Hut for instance. Remember DC’S Mariam Barry? Caught on camera smokin crack with hookers, re-elected.

Hey! Is there STILL going to be a
"Consent Decree" to rein in those
"wild, out of control, racist and

"Put on the back burner"

Dafuk y'all say...

With the current DOJ/FBI orchestrated
Chicago/Cook County/Illinois political
shit-show taking up up a LOT of unintended
public discourse bandwith... Not only any
talk of a CPD consent decree shoved to the
back burner, the vile and stinking contents
of that pot should be unceremoniously dumped
out and marched straight to the garbage.

Loving this shit!

We haven't laughed so hard at a bunch of assholes

Mendoza needs to do the job she just got elected into.

How can the electorate be so naive? She just won one office, why go after the Mayor's Office? I am not in Chicago, but if I was, I would not consider her for anything.

Hmm - when you think of it, Preckwinkle is in the same boat. Her soda tax idea should have sunk her from pursuing ANY office. If that is your best shot at economic development and raising revenues, stay out of the race. What new insane taxes is Chicago going to come up with next??

Might as well put in pay toilets everywhere. Require ALL downtown buildings to have pay toilets. Same with O-Hare, Midway, all the libraries, schools. WOW - now that is a great revenue-generating idea. I am qualified to run for Mayor of Chicago. Highly qualified in this field of candidates.

Funny how all these people running also "Have a plan to stop crime", but won't give any details until they get into office. If the plan is so good - let's hear it now, and maybe see it implemented.

How about locking up convicted felons and not let them out a year later on sentences that should be 10-15 years?

There can be No Doubt, that the latest revelations have clearly hurt Mendoza, more than anyone else. Both Madigan and Burke were Mendoza's Mentors, and she cannot walk away from the hundreds of thousands of dollars they have raised for her various campaigns. Preckwinkle is also damaged, but her base constituency is Identity Race Based,so as the Great Black Hope, no scandal can impact on her core support. Meanwhile, Daley has a War Chest that is greater than any other candidate and he is not tied to Madigan or Burke as his fundraisers or sponsors. There can be no doubt that there will be a run-off; and we may be sentenced to four years of a Daley III. And how is it that our Municipal I.G. and Attorney General Madigan, were consistently unable to identify all of this corruption, and whatever else is produced by all this. Oh, but wait; they were able to root out Implicit Bias by Chicago cops! Chicago is a National Embarrassment. Stay Safe & Strong. Baby "G"

The democrat Criminal Enterprise group has been operating a monopoly in this town for how long? The judges, the aldermens, the state legislature, the governors, the mayors and their cronies are a conspiratorial cabal acting in collusion with absolute power and benefitting through illegal undocumented personal wealth generation schemes.

How about Robert Mueller to investigate this real not made up collusion. This collusion is not made up from silliness like a Clinton campaign opposition dossier, but actual evil doings by monopolistic democrats with lots of actual federal fraud crime violations not the process crimes stuff of perceived lying to the FBI or Congress. Time to enforce the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization ACT. Hey FBI, Make Chicago Great Again!

Maybe Mueller can wrap this up with a SEAL Team 6 modeled raid of Illinois politicians complete with armored trucks, machine guns, black helicopters and a special appearance of McGruff the crime dog. Do you mean this one???

News
IF DALEY SAYS CLOUT IS DEAD, THEN WHAT'S HAUNTING NAVY PIER?
John Kass
CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Aren't you relieved that Mayor Richard Daley banned political clout in Chicago?

Admittedly, I was worried about rampant corruption at City Hall. But since Daley said that clout was finito, we can all relax.

The mayor's anti-clout edict was born at a news conference the other day--after the Tribune broke the wrought iron fence scandal. Daley was so upset, he said he would rather quit than let his political pals influence city contracts.

"I would sooner leave office!" he vowed and he made a stern face. Then he said clout was finished too. He made another stern face. It was truly a stern face.

"I have billions of dollars of work going out," Daley said of city contracts. "None of it can be clouted. They cannot be clouted!"

That was Monday at City Hall. But on Tuesday, a funny thing happened at the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority.

The authority is a board controlled by Daley--it oversees McCormick Place and Navy Pier, and all the contracts and the jobs there. So think of a hog farm at lunchtime.

And on Tuesday, McPier board members gave a juicy contract to Jerry Joyce, son of Daley's top political operative, former state Sen. Jeremiah Joyce. And I mean juicy. It has to be worth millions.

Jeremiah Joyce used his considerable clout--oops, make that smarts--to elect Cook County State's Atty. Dick Devine. Son Jerry Joyce works for Devine as a $79,000-a-year political lobbyist.

But that's not clout. Neither is the new contract. The mayor said so. You wouldn't want to confuse the poor guy, would you?

More than 8 million people visited Navy Pier last year. It's a top tourist spot, with the Ferris wheel and such. Many of those 8 million people get hungry and thirsty. That's where Joyce comes in.

The McPier board allowed Jerry Joyce and a partner to operate The Navy Pier Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Parlor.

You have to wonder why anyone would take $800,000 from their savings ,although I doubt a clout heavy lawyer and a pediatrician emptied their whole life savings to fund his campaign. I’m not directing this just to him but most if not all. Do they really feel this is their civic duty
Hard to believe that some actually put in over 100 million dollars for a job that pays under $200,000 or in the case of the mayor $365,000
