Even other cities recognize Rahm's abject failure as a law and order mayor:
- Chicago police are reporting gunpoint robberies targeting people wearing pricey Canada Goose jackets as temperatures plunge in the city.
Over the past two weeks, police say there's been a spate of the thefts in which people wearing the luxury coats have been targeted and forced to give up the jackets. The coats can cost upward of $1,000 and are often seen on celebrities.
Six people had their Canada Goose coats stolen last week and two more were targeted Wednesday.
Police say two men jumped from a Mercedes, showed a gun and punched a 54-year-old man before forcibly taking his coat and wallet Wednesday. The same night, two men showed a gun to a 23-year-old man walking with a friend and demanded his Canada Goose coat.
Fox New York even follows the Chicago media lead, being unable to describe the criminals, thereby endangering tourists and mayor de Blasio if he should happen to come to town. Personally, we're waiting for the first Canada Goose Concealed Carrier to tally one. If you can afford a Canada Goose jacket, you can afford a halfway decent pistol.

No Canada Goose jacket here, could not afford one, but I do have a Mexican Pollo jacket with a fabric gun port. Unfortunately, so far I have had no takers.

I know, I know... I should not get involved in someone else's robbery when I'm carrying anyway. But I was thinking that as a private citizen - I could not possibly come to the aid of someone wearing one of these jackets if they were robbed under threat of deadly force. Why? Because why on earth would you where a $1,000 on the street in Chicago? Why make yourself look like a target in this city? Why encourage the criminal element?
I feel the same way about driving $60,000 cars. You are asking for it.
Remember the criminal element is an important voting block here. They get pandered to during election years.

When I first saw the thievery of Canada Goose on TV I thought someone in Chicago was stealing geese off ponds.

Then I saw that the reporter meant a type of clothing - Canada Goose. These jackets are expensive even though I never heard of them.
Maybe I should buy one and then come down to Chicago and wear it around downtown? I think it would be a better challenge than going to the Gun Club to shoot skeet.

It used to be, only a select group of people even knew about Canada Goose. They outfitted arctic expeditions and the like. High-quality, extremely warm coats. Both my wife and I have these coats, and for the longest time, we only saw Asians wearing them-a hard-to -get status symbol for them (CG only makes a certain number of items, and they quickly sell out), and not available outside of Canada or the US for a long time. Now, I look at their website, and I see who they are aiming their products at now-they asked for this "clientele", and now they are getting it. Smart people won't want to be seen in Ghetto gear now, and the cachet this coat once had will vanish. The people with money and brains have moved on to other equally expensive coats that aren't so readily recognized on the street.
Get yourself a little hammerless revolver. Keep it in your pocket. No slide to cycle. The thug approaches and you don’t even need to take the gun out. Fire away. The downside is you’ll need a new jacket but then again if you didn’t have the revolver, you’d have needed a new jacket anyway.

Per CBS local news, Chicago police are encouraging people to be aware of their surroundings. What does that exactly mean? What can victims do differently to prevent this sort of perverse crime? Lock themselves in their apartments?

I stopped at that Canada goose store on Michigan during Christmas...you know,walk down Michigan hoping some ghetto piece of shit tried to rob me so I can light him up. Anyway they sell a stocking hat there for 150.00. with that stupid patch on it. Dumb fucks buying them like crazy. Screwy fucking world.
