Everybody Must Get Stoned

A lot of jobs just got a lot easier - tact teams, lock up keepers, court personnel, Assistant States Attorneys, judges:
  • Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx came out in support of marijuana legalization and laid out a plan to wipe clean all minor pot convictions during a speech Thursday to the City Club of Chicago.

    During the speech — which aimed to highlight the state’s attorney’s office’s accomplishments under Foxx — she noted that her office would “pursue the expungement of all misdemeanor marijuana convictions,” a proposal that was met with rousing applause.

    Foxx did not immediately provide details on how many people would be impacted by her widespread expungement plan, but explained in her speech that just limiting prosecutions of current cases doesn’t go far enough.
Welcome to Progressive Illinois - toke up.

I was thinking a few days ago; how much money have all these asshole criminal defense attorneys lost in fees from potential clients for cases that never happened because their clients were never arrested? It’s like “It’s a wonderful life- Cook County edition”.
After the big ACLU agreement, stops and arrests plummeted, killings skyrocketed. Not only were their clients dying at a rapid rate but the living clientele weren’t getting arrested as frequently. These lawyers must be losing thousands of dollars because police have slowed down. Now certain crimes are being deemed non-criminal. These lawyers better get a side job LMAO.

Was watching FoxNews last night. Tucker Carlson had the FOP President of the Philadelphia lodge. They discussed the newly elected, George Soros supported District Attorney (States Attorney) who is on record as failing to approve charges in a lot of felony arrests. According to FOP in Philadelphia, some 4000 defendants have been cut loose and are now out and about back on the streets. Then I remember reading that Krimeesha had some Soros funding. All of this sounds familiar doesn't it?

If you're a weak prosecutor, if you're an incompetent attorney, if you're a SJW, if you want to "save departmental money", if you're not motivated anyways to competently serve as state's attorney, then yes, one way of "fighting crime" is to redefine "crime" by eliminating certain criminal activities from "arrest-worthy crimes" list. Looks like Dart and Foxx have embraced this approach to "crime-fighting" - ignore crime, call policing a "crime against black people", then trumpet your lower "crime stats".

They cheer for what they believe to be a new policy, not knowing that Cook County has already been throwing out 99.999999% of ALL misdemeanor cannabis charges at the probable cause hearing for well over 20 years.

If you actually have a conviction, you must have chosen to just plead guilty before the judge had a chance to throw it out. If so, then your stupidity caused your conviction

Surround the new police academy in 011 with buildings that would provide the strongest THC infused sinsemilla pakalolo with Hawaiian buds and hydroponics. The folks from the nearby Garfield Park Conservatory could staff it using their expertise,

Add a separate huge gambling casino and Nevada-style bordellos. Obviously, there would have to be a massive 24/7 security presence by Daley-Vanecko, LLC. Ald. Emma Mitts and Edward Burke would have input for all visitors to have fun toking, gambling and whatever.

All profits would go to the CPD retiree funds.

I for one think it is a good idea that has been too long in coming. The consequences of trivial infractions last way too long and make it really hard for anyone caught up in them to get out. Makes the being Fetal much easier. Will disrupt the corner drug stores in a big way. Mexico is not happy about this development although more on weed does increase the consumer base. They it becomes a battle for the lowest price goods. With government involved the lowest price will not be in the legal stores. So maybe nothing will change after all except more going around stoned and looking for money for that next high. Bet the penalty for illegal weed will higher. Got tp protect the legal supply. Will be fun to watch from afar.

Well, then I guess it's a good thing that marijuana is harmless, right?

Cannabis users' syndrome made woman vomit 30 times in one day || NY Daily News || Jan 24, 2019
It was a medical mystery for a Calgary woman who vomited more than 30 times in a day, spent months hospitalized with a feeding tube, and dropped to 98 pounds. ... Then she found out the reason: a little-known but increasingly occurring condition, cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, that is showing up in some chronic, heavy pot users.
~~~snip~~~
Doctors in both Canada and the U.S. are seeing more and more of this, given the increasing acceptance and legalization of recreational marijuana.
[Full Article at Link.]
So it appears that pot isn't exactly 'Harmless'. But that's kind of already been proven by now. Besides this new illness, there's the documented evidence of damage to the brain due to long term use. Doubters can just google it.
I bet that if I gave a shiny new dime to everyone who got a “misdemeanor marijuana conviction” in Chicago over the past ten years, it wouldn’t cost me more than five dollars.
While marijuana odor has probably been repeatedly used as PC for a search that found more “expensive” charges (PCS heroin, PCS meth, felon in possession of a firearm, etc), I seriously doubt that there have been more than a handful of times when there was a trial for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
I’d be willing to bet that most (if not all) misdemeanor marijuana convictions were pled down from more serious charges.
Obviously they haven't done their research on what has happened in Colorado since pot has been legalized....tax revenues are 50% of expectations, children's overdoses have skyrocketed because the kids eat the parents edibles, traffic crashes by impaired drivers have increased dramatically and crimes of violence have increased because today's marijuana is much stronger than years ago and doesn't have the "mellowing" effects as in year's past. In addition, medical science has proven that long term use has extremely detrimental effects on the brain and it is suspected that it leads to dementia and other diseases later in life. But yeah - go ahead and make it legal! Plus these dumb asses will probably set a price so high that it will still be cheaper to buy it on the street!
Couple of comments:
1. A number of years ago, G. Soros decided that the way to "change" society was through the elected DA. He has funded numerous DA (State's Attorneys) throughout the country.
2. What is interesting about each of the G. Soros DAs (State's Attorneys) is there complete disregard for the Constitution. Each DA (State's Attorney) does not recognize that their sole JOB is to ENFORCE laws. If they want to MAKE laws, they should run for the legislature.
3. This is what FOXX is doing. Enacting laws through her decisions to NOT prosecute. She has completely ignored the mandate of her office.
Let's talk susie again, this woman when she took over the city clerks office immediately terminated white Caucasian managers and brought in her own peoples (Oh and yes they are talking to the guys with the straight ties), she bitched about the comptrollers office not having monkey and as soon as she won with mike madigan and burke pushing her she bought a new suv to cart her ass around compliments of the taxpayers. Let us not forget when she became city clerk the previous clerk did not need the police detail but she had it reinstated. What about the "scared susie" commercial how her family fled the city due to a shooting was this another lie? can she produce paperwork? Now she thinks that playing soccer makes her tough and like the wild west she will be cleaning up crime she needs to go away!!
But she did donate danny solis money to a black veteran organization (ultimate pandering), and the great part is danny solis sister is running her campaign and blood is thicker than water bet she was wired up also to help her brother susie says what?
Yes, cannabis is a non violent low level drug. Tell that to the kid that was murdered in the 6000 block of 63rd St during a weed transaction. Or better yet, tell that to the kid murdered during a weed transaction at Harlem & Higgins two years ago. Can't wait to deal with even more impaired drivers too!
1/25/2019 06:28:00 AM
It actually is a low level drug. The Violence from the Dealers is a different issue.
Remove the profit margins from Illegal sales by legalizing it for Recreational as well as Medicinal purposes and watch tax revenue flow into the City and County and State. Colorado has harvested half a billion dollars in taxes and fees since it legalized recreational weed in 2014.
Let that Sink in. 500 million in 4 years from 1 type of tax. Now, it's not a golden, fix everything solution. But it is not a bad idea.
If the STATE legislature wants to go ahead and vote to legalize this (subject to the usual restrictions: No driving, or operating heavy machinery while stoned), that's all well and good.
But since when does Crimesha get to pick and choose what laws she will and won't prosecute? This is a straight up abuse of Prosecutorial Discretion if I ever saw one. She ought to be in jail.
As for expunging records - ummm, why isn't she a defense attorney?
It's high time (har) to legalize weed; I've yet to hear an argument against it that distills to something other than old white guys upset that their social drug of choice might get some competition. Treat it like booze and focus on some real problems! But this is supposed to be handled by legislators and voters, not prosecutors. As usual, Foxx shows that like most lefties she doesn't give a shit about rule of law and just wants to worship at the altar of unchecked state power. It will not end well.
I for one think it is a good idea that has been too long in coming. The consequences of trivial infractions last way too long and make it really hard for anyone caught up in them to get out. It is long since time to start focusing criminal justice resources on violent crime rather than easy arrests and fines.
That is the problem.
You can't tell, currently, if the usage was 10 minutes ago or 10 hours ago or 10 days ago with the current testing methods.
Most over the counter test kits can detect it 2 to 5 hours after ingestion; but the drug stays in the system for a very long time and depending on frequency and amount used, the test may still detect even 7 to 45 days later.
At the current time...there is no Court Level accepted Road Side testing kit to determine if you are impaired by THC.
You wouldn’t. Police would not be allowed to use marijuana. If a court forced it, then if you were suspected of being under the influence of marijuana, they would administers a field test just like they do when you are under the influence of alcohol
Your logic is faulty. These kids were murdered exactly because weed is illegal and you have to buy it from some shithead in a shady environment. You should be able to walk in and buy it in a store legally just like you and everyone else does with booze. We are wasting our time and money trying to enforce marijuana laws just like they did with Prohibition.
