One Set of Federal Charges
- A South Side man is facing federal charges alleging he threatened the lives of Jason Van Dyke and his family over social media during the former Chicago police officer’s historic trial for the shooting death of Laquan McDonald.
A three-count indictment made public in U.S. District Court on Thursday charged Matthew Ross, 32, with making threats with online posts that allegedly began last August in the run-up to Van Dyke’s trial.
Ross, of the 8000 block of South Sawyer Avenue, was initially arrested on Oct. 4 when he arrived at the Leighton Criminal Court Building to attend closing arguments in the trial. He was charged then with county offenses of electronic harassment and disorderly conduct and released on a recognizance bond, records show.
So that's one. Now, how about the "bounty hunter" down at Emory University? We've done everything possible except draw a road map. Maybe this will help:
Might as well boost that conviction rate - it's as good a slam dunk as this one.

You missed a big part of the story. A judge dismissed the original charges at his first court hearing. They never named the judge. Would be interesting to know the name of the judge
that university student was referred to the office of student affairs for sanctions and any disciplinary action.....
Kim Foxx wanted nothing to do with this case. She ignored the pleas of Van Dyke’s family and FOP. Preib called FBI and they picked up the case. Hopefully this jagoff is punished somehow.
Wtf is going on? The feds are actually doing their job lately. Though only one offender of many, this is great news.
