Federal Law Violation
She upped the "bounty" to $600, including Mrs. Van Dyke for daring to testify in support of her husband. In case anyone was wondering, here's the pertinent Federal Law that was broken:
- 18 U.S. Code § 875 - Interstate communications
(c) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
That's five years Federal time. Does anyone know if US Attorney John R. Lausch, Jr is currently swearing out a criminal complaint for one Jasmine Annise of Emory University (605 Asbury Circle Atlanta GA 30322). She's a sophomore at Emory University Class of '21 and went Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights Class of '17. She's from Matteson, Illinois and has a heavy social media presence on twitter (@JasmineAnnise) and college email (jasmine.annise.bovia@emory.edu)

Ms Annise's actions are also a violation of the Clery Act, most specifically, VAWA, Violence Against Women Act. And if these threats were transmitted from campus, by a student, then the Security Department at Emory is obligated, under the above cited Federal Acts, to make a written report, including interviewing Ms. Annise and advising the appropriate disciplinary organ of that University. And once again, let's not ignore the issue of Race and Irony. When the Civil War broke out in 1861, "all" the student body of Emory enlisted in the Confederate cause.(Wikipedia) Many of the students lost their lives fighting for the South, and much of the campus was damaged. I hope Ms Annise is not representative of Emory University values, though she does clearly reflect Rahm's "Chicago Values". Perhaps, she would do well to quit college and seek employment in Chicago or Cook County Government. She sounds like she would fit in, working for Preckwinkle or any Black Alderperson. Stay Strong. So a follow up text was sent to the show while he was on air referring them to SCC for further information but no further comment was made on air. They got it, let us see what may result. I'm writing to report a student of your committed a serious crime. Jasmine Annise Bovia offered $500 to the first person to beat up Kaylee Van Dyke, a minor child of 17 years of age. Jasmine later raised the price she offered to $600.
The twitter posts are below, at the end of my comments.
Please be aware you are required by law to investigate the crime which is being alleged. Your requirements are found in the The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (“VAWA”), also see the Jeanne Clery Act.
Under VAWA, colleges and universities are required to:
• Adopt certain student discipline procedures, such as for notifying purported victims of their
rights;
• Report domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking, beyond crime categories the Clery Act
already mandates;
. “Stalking” means a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would
cause a reasonable person to fear for her, his, or others' safety, or to suffer
substantial emotional distress
Furthermore, your student committed a Federal crime.

It might be Jasmine's view (and anyone's view for that matter) to believe Jason van Dyke is guilty and deserves to be punished. So it is her right, under the Constitution to share that view in any way she chooses. However, calling out and offering to pay someone for committing violence against another individual, in this case the child of Jason van Dyke, is NOT protected speech. It is a crime.
Last but not least, she's upset thousands of police officers and others who support police. Police officers feel abandoned, and many in the community feel abandoned as well. How does Jasmine's comments help that situation? It doesn't. I'm ashamed of Emory University if you choose to do nothing. Others are already reaching out to media to make this story widespread. Other officers are going to see this nationwide. Please condemn this - if anything for the sake of morale among police officers and for the sake of healing the divide between police and community members.

I called Emory Police Department 404-727-6115. Spoke to a PO, emailed a screenshot, and got a case #. I asked for a follow up call and he said he would let me know.

The account is down now: I would appreciate a cached copy if anyone made one.
I will contact the school when it re-opens tomorrow. I urge the PBA to do the same. Among trustees, Thomas D. Bell may be most responsive. University President Clare Sterk researches drug-addicted prostitutes. I met her when we had overlapping projects decades ago, and while I have no idea of her politics, her research relies on some sort of relationship with police.
Many of the trustees and school money are Coca-Cola executives and Coca-Cola cash.

There's a good chance that everyone reading this gave Jasmine Bovia some money.

I just reported her to the school and the school's police department. This is totally unacceptable behavior for anyone to do, no matter how unacceptable something is. Also typed up a nice paper and mailed it to the school and the school pd. She needs to be locked up for a very long time for this.
