- According to a board member, Squire Graham received a phone call from Special Ed who asked the Squire to cancel the protest. The Squire has ordered the VP’s to not talk to the press. A vote of no confidence in the Squire is being discussed. He screwed up big time on the consent decree, and might be the worst President in the history of the FOP. He’s starting to make Dean look good.

The only real representation we have at the lodge now is Greg Bella, John Capparelli and Jay Ryan. All the others are either idiots or out for their own agenda. The city will run over us in this contract.
The union has been run for a long time by idiots. It's served a simple purpose to give the rank and file a voice. However politics at city hall have always held the union guys by the throats while telling them what to say and how to say it. City hall gives them enough room to look like like they are in charge but really in real life the union are just a pesky mosquito that can be swatted dead at anytime. Being a police officer is the most impossible job in the history of man especially in Chicago. Everyday you carry the power of life an death and your expected to wear many hats. The expectation of police officers is to be able to handle thousands of possible situations within seconds or a few minutes. God forbid if you make the wrong choice you are tarred and feathered and hung out to dry in the court of public opinion.

Just an observation from a civilian:
Why does CPD keep electing an FOP board members who only care about themselves and not the CPD officers? It baffles my mind to keep seeing the same type of useless reps elected over and over again while watching the officers get screwed over and over again, year after year. The men and women of CPD are hurting themselves by electing people who do not have the CPD's best interest in their plans.
Why do I as a civilian care,i t doesn't directly affect me. It affects me and my family each and every day.
When officers are overworked, railroaded, used as punching bags by the wretches of society who go unpunished the officers are less able to protect me and my family.
When officers are used as political pawns by elected officials at the city, county and state level who prey for months and years on every life endangering decision an officer has to make in a second of time, then expect those officers to continue to put their lives on the line for us civilians, well the officers are less inclined to do that.
When the leadership of CPD continues to promote an incompetent leadership who care more about pleasing their political masters than protecting the citizens then the officers in the middle damned if they do and damned if they don't. Leaving the rank and file to do bare minimum to protect themselves.
FOP is there to Protect and Serve the men and women of CPD. Officers are smart enough to know who will actually do that. Please band together, have each others backs, elect who you know will represent you!
We the law abiding civilians of this city fully support our officers but you have to act now or this city is lost. You are our last line of defense.

The machine does not want this protest to happen. The corruption runs deep. Rahm has spoken with the Obamas regarding this incident. They has assured Rahm that the city will be compensated so that Rahm looks like a a politician who stands for what’s right. The reimbursement will be paid and Rahm will ride off. After the city collects restitution this will become a dead issue. This will assist in covering up how high up the ladder the corruption ran. Kim Foxx will be the one who ultimately pays the price, although they are hoping that the voters forget, BLM still maintains the leftist following, and Foxx can get re-elected.
This protest will draw too much attention to the situation, almost ensuring that this cannot be swept under the rug. The vote of no confidence is coming and Foxx and the machine (AKA Preckwinkle) are nervous. Rumor has it that there a couple politicians who have suburban law enforcement contacts and have asked them to chime in. Suburban police departments are fed up with the incompetence of the Cook County States Attorneys Office as well. This poses a problem for LiL Kim and the machine. They cannot control the suburban chiefs or agencies, and they have a large voter base, that has stayed relatively quiet. They are fed up of being double victims, 1st by the offender, 2nd by the incompetent, broken, unjust, system.
The Smollet case and this protest will open a lot of eyes that the machine and the leftist want to keep shut. Preckwinkle is already creating distance from Foxx. Calling on her to explain. Foxx’s health is in the tank, the stress is wearing on her, you can hear it in her voice and see it on her. She knows that she got sucked in to a vacuum and can’t get out.

It WAS a screw up and it was ONLY Graham. As a party directly effected in the consent decree, it gave us standing. The problem, as noted by the judge, was waiting to long. Just because we could have intervened doesnt mean anything coming would have changed necessarily but the job of Lodge 7 is to fight for its membership. We should have had a voice in the matter but didnt primary because of weak leadership. Kevin is a nice guy pers9but a terribly weak leader. He doesnt want to cause waves, take stands or piss off the powers of the city. It's been a recipe for disaster. I suggest every member flood the FOP with calls Monday morning and demand Kevin allow board members to speak freely because I know that I will and they should have the same rights.

The legal defense has been completely revamped . That did not come without a lot of struggle with members entrenched on the Board . Year after these persons are voted in because the majority of police officers are not involved . Until that changes many of these on the Board will continue the same old thing . The next election will be about two things ; 1.) consent decree , and 2.) legal defense . Police officers are gonna need good representation and fortunately that has gotten much better . We need to continue to become stronger on statements at IAD and COPA . The new attorneys must stay and the future candidates must be held accountable to ensure this happens !

I'm well aware the March is this morning. The point was simple. The President gets to decide who speaks on behalf of the lodge. That puts board members in a tough spot if Kevin says he will be the single voice. If you call and voice your objection to silencing the very people who organized this rally, it will get back to him at Daley plaza. Pat Murray put this together, not Kevin.

Can we PLEASE STOP voting for someone because they are "A Nice Guy" or a "Good Copper". Could we possibly find someone in our membership that knows how to negotiate a contract? Someone that knows contract law? Someone (or ones) that can keep our membership TOGETHER, and not fragmented as it is. (Old vs young / Dist vs Unit, Det's vs Patrolmen..) Can we get a Treasurer that knows how to invest OUR MONEY wisely, and not a "Good Copper" that knows how to work a calculator?
Until WE can find that, be happy with your 0% - 0% - 2% - 2% - 0% and having an OUTSIDE BODY determine your discipline.

That you again rahm? Can’t give it up? One last shot!
We need a retired P.O. to run for president. One that has no connection to city politics.One that kisses no ones ass, and sincerely cares for the well being of all Chicago Police Officer. A President who will hire a professional contract negotiator, not a person who beliefs he or she can negotiate. Enough is Enough.

You will never find an officer that can negotiate a contract. What you need is an officer that is willing to hire an attorney that specializes in contract law and has a good track record.

Mike Shields would have never backed down or crumbled. He would have done right by us. Deano and Heavy K have been an embarrassment. And I am not Mike Shields or a member of his family, but I hope Shields runs again so I can vote for him.
The only people who think this way are the Shields crew (mostly Northside cops) who work his security gigs for Rahm Emmanuel backers.

Let's trade insults. It is always so productive. (sarcasm) You are an idiot. Now, that's out of the way.
You must not pay attention or you are addled. The boys set Shields up with the letter thing. They wanted to get him and they did not care what it would cost the membership.
Anybody they ganged up on is okay by me because that means the game-players do not want the straight-shooter around. I'll vote for Mike Shields if I ever get the chance.
