- State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has asked Cook County Inspector General Patrick Blanchard to review her office’s handling of the Jussie Smollett case.
The request for an investigation by the county’s watchdog agency comes two weeks after Foxx’s office dropped all charges against the “Empire” actor for an alleged hoax hate crime attack, with the actor turning over $10,000 from his bond to the city and making no admission of guilt. The deal, and Foxx, have been blasted by police and prosecutors organizations, and a petitions seeking appointment of a special prosecutor to review Smollett’s case will be heard by Chief Criminal Courts Judge LeRoy K. Martin Jr. next month.
Foxx has promised “total access” to her office to probe the Smollett case, Blanchard said Friday.
The damage being done to Prickwrinkle's Cook County Machine is unknown at this point, but if you watch closely, you can see them attempting to slap a coat of racial paint all over it.

When sessions used the recused fox learned a new word. Didn't have a clue as to its meaning but could not wait for the opportunity to use it.

Guys just sit back and watch. When Blanchard starts to do his interviews and asks, do you have knowledge of any other investigation into this matter. And the subjects state just the United States Attorneys Office. She has problems but most likely linked to other investigations.
The county IG should have immediately and totally recused himself from the case as they have worked together and kimmie should ask a judge to appoint a special prosecutor. The judge then should appoint one from Guam with us hoping that they never heard of Chicago or this criminal defense attorney who is ghosting as the sa. Just remember how Taxwinkle has used Two Crook County Judges to throw out criminal charges against Taxwinkle’ Son Kyle for battery and assault. The pair only use the resources that are beholden to Taxwinkle and the Machine. The IG will find the ASA who’ Been leaking information from the office. Someone must be sacrificed. IG Pat Blanchard is an outstanding, experienced attorney of the highest esteem,with high ethical standards and common sense. He has been Cook County IG for about 10 years.
He is also a former Supervisor in the CCSAO. (Well before Foxx) Expect him to find major irregularities in the way Smollett was handled, but also expect Preckwinkle to tie the IG's hands to do anything about it.
He uncovered fraud in JB Pritzker tax scams, but look where that went. Gov.Spalding paid back some money, did not have to admit wrongdoing, and became Governor.
KIm Foxx requires an outside investigation not connected to Cook County.
Foxx should be ashamed for putting Pat Blanchard in this position.
Anything less than the “Feds” investigating the incident will be considered unreliable by the public. Period.
If Blanchard is smart, he would recuse and send this turd down the line. If he came back with a “there’s nothing to see here” determination,

Best advice ever given. You deserve a department commendation for this. Do the bare minimum. Anything more will just complicate your life more than it already is.
Outside Prosecutors should be doing this investigation. Or the Feds, not a system who already picks and chooses what they will find guilty or not, like the lieutenants Exam.

If we had an actual curious reporter or journalist in Chicago it might dawn on them that Foxx was acting on orders from Preckwinkle from the get go in the Smollett debacle. Cook County Inspector General indeed....Classic Chicago way....His assignment? make this all go away before the Feds come to any conclusion (which in typical Fed fashion will take years)

Agreed, no one has our back in this city, except for the rare, good citizen, of which, more and more are fleeing the city. Just do your job. Be professional and discerning while giving them the police department they want. Survival is the goal. Act accordingly and do not become a sacrifice for them.

There is no shame in any quarter of the State's Attorney's Office. Foxx will use and abuse anyone for her benefit and their expense. You go along or get fired or leave cause your conscience won't allow you to work in a corruptive environment.
The IG may have the best of intentions to find and document the truth about the corruptive practices in the SAO. We all know that if the truth ever comes out he would loose his job sooner or later. Toni is not going to allow the whole truth to be made public. Foxx is Toni's product and will not expose her to public humiliation or face any significant disciplinary action. Toni just got her ass kicked by Lightfoot and she won't get embarrassed again.
The IG is between a rock and a hard place. These are ruthless people who get what they want, no matter what the cost. The IG may be an honest man but in Cook County and Chicago honest men/women have short public career's. It's the Chicago Way.
