- Over the decades, Chicago police have labeled at least 134,000 people as gang members using byzantine data collection that had little or no oversight and put many of the people at risk of a severe sentence, high bond, deportation or a lost job.
These are among the key findings of a report by Chicago’s inspector general released Thursday that gives the most detailed analysis yet of the Police Department’s broken gang classification system.
The department’s gang database has been widely criticized over the past year — by community groups, lawsuits and the news media — as racially biased and unconstitutional, with African-Americans and Latinos making up the vast majority of those placed on the list.
Remember, this report is from a blind man who couldn't find even a modicum of evidence in the Lie-tenant cheating scandal, despite being given dates, times, lists of attendees and copies of e-mails with attachments of testing material and payments.

The new name is the “Criminal Enterprise Database” no more talk of Gang Database. In it the hang card is automatically purged after 5 years if there is no activity (not including prison time). In order to qualify for a gang card the subject must either admit affiliation on BWC or off BWC plus another factor listed in the order. Then the card is approved by the supervisor, then verified by the DIO (who doesn’t have access to the BWC videos), then it gets approved by Gang Investigations, then the DOC. Only then will the card be added to the database. Just another reason NOT to ask them their gang affiliation.
Ex-Alderman Ricardo Munioz, the Latin King, probably still has his gang card on file maybe they can use it for his sentencing for wife beating. Nah, I’ll bet Criminal Kim drops the charges and some sap judge seals his records too.

Could it be because the calls for service and crimes are occuring in those demographic groups? The way to easily remedy this situation is to pull the police out of these areas and put them in another demographic area. Now watch how the crimes and gang members go down in the first two groups goes down but goes up in that other demographic area. Problem solved everybody happy!!

The real question to ask is why there was no supervision of the Gang Crime Data Base. It didn't happen yesterday. Where was Special Ed and various Administrative and Operational Commanders who allowed the system to deteriorate. Where are the Inspectors, LT's, SGT's who supervised the Data Base. Was anyone written up for malfeasance over this. No, none of these occurred. Special ED and his command staff were not paying attention and allowed the Department to once again be needlessly and publicly embarrassed. It's the he Chicago Way.
The new GO was wiped out on the quick. Too bad Special Ed isn't smart enough to stay on top of this situation and preclude the embarrassment. But that again would require senior management oversight. Lightfoot is anyone in the Department gonna get disciplined for incompetence over this mess. We already know the answer.

Way way to complicated, time consuming and dumb. Simple solution. Don’t ask don’t tell mixed in with a whole lot of who cares. Process the arrest and move on. Denies gang. Don’t want to get sued.

Worked the ghetto-90 march. ISP stood there and didn’t do a damn thing. Flagger walked up to the ISP line, PUSHED two of the troopers out of the way, breached the line, and grabbed Johnson by his collar. Johnson was pulled into the crowd like a rag doll. I was in the bike line 2 feet behind ISP next to all the merits. We(troops) all looked at each other sort of shocked. Thinking isn’t this AGG BAT to PO, pure defeat in everyone’s eyes(ISP and CPD). At that point I knew ISP was nuetered. And yet, right before the march started I asked if they’d be willing to arrest Flagger if need be. I was told “just point him out.” Man, I was hoping that was the case but it was far from it.

Yes I did! Received a response within 24 hours stating that the City of Chicago's IG is exempt from responding to FOIA request by city ordinance, because their investigations are confidential. I was told that my avenue of redress was the Illinois AG, who we all know is Kwame Raoul. What do you think my chances are of getting a fair shake with him?
Data is not racist... It is information and nothing more.
What pisses me off is how these liberals and activists try to make information (valid data) be transmuted into some charge of racism. Total bullshit!
