Ryan retiring was about the only one that a bunch of us knew for certain. He was actually set to go before Rahm announced he wouldn’t run again, which was going to open a spot for Kennedy, and the commander of 010 was likely to slide back over to Gangs.
Once Rahm let that cat out of the bag, Ryan actually had a horse in the mayoral race, so he changed his mind about pulling the pin just yet. I guess he figured he’d hold out to see if the person he threw his support behind could slide into the king’s chair, and he could get that one last bump. When that didn’t happen, he realized there’s no point sticking around.
As far as I’m concerned, good riddance.
And we now figure that the commander of 010’s undying love and devotion to merit Sgt RG of 010 may have finally been the kiss of death for his career. Still not sure why he allowed that continuous cancer on the department to act with such impunity. Friend or not, if someone I knew was acting in such a way, sometimes you just have to take the kid-gloves off and sit them down for a lesson in the ways of the world.

Dana O’Malley is PHENOMENAL! She was at Corp council and represented me with members of her team and were fantastic. She is so unbelievably pro Chicago police and always looked out for our best interests. If I could have had her on every lawsuit I had I would have, can’t say enough about here. Just got an email from the sgts association. They had a meeting with the city a few days ago, the 18th meeting. After the meeting the sgts attorney declared that negotiations are at an impass and filed a motion to the city declaring the impass. The sgts association is now waiting for the city’s response to its letter which will then select a mutual date for arbitration hearings. With arbitration on the horizon I see the contract for sgts settled sometime in October with it getting voted on near December.
I don’t know why Leo Panepinto has not been dumped from CPIC. That little man has no idea what he is doing. If this department is looking for progressive change it starts with taking Leo “the paper lion” out of CPIC. I know he tells funny jokes and his officers love him because they get away with plenty because it’s easy to take advantage of his stupidity but lets start taking this job seriously. Bottom line, he had his fun for a while now lets replace him with someone who is more professional. Believe me it won’t be that hard to do.

We hold the collective power on are own measured actions associated with summer violence as managed by the Special Ed's new staff. He's been told to by Lorie to fix the crime problem this summer. Remember we have no contract. The SGT's Association may go to arbitration. City Hall and Department leadership has no respect for us. Their plan is make us do the heavy lifting while management sits on its fat a$$ and blame us for Community self inflicted murder and mayhem. None are their to aid, manage and assists us in a serious situation. We take all the legal and disciplinary risks. They hid and we suffer the ramifications.
Don't be a fool and accept any undue risk because of managements ineptitude and potential for Department disciplinary actions. No contract should equal measured actions by all offices. The recent management changes will have little impact on the collective patrol operations. Its the institution administered by City Hall and the Machine that really run things. Initiate meaningful negotiations on a fair contract. Otherwise bear the full heat of summer.

Good riddance then. In 025 if you work hard then you are recognized and taken care of. I can't believe how lazy some people are. Just bring in the numbers (blue cards, isr's, arrests, tickets and parkers) and you will be taken care of. I am a young guy and I don't know why some people make our commander to be a bad guy. I guess some people like to complain in the roll call room all day long. You know who you are. So full of opinion and hot air. Newsflash- none of us young guys are going to be influenced just because you keep saying negative stuff. We all know right from wrong and we do our jobs within the legal parameters. In 025 3rd watch we have like 3 to 5 big time complainers. Professional whiners and cry babies. If you think this job is hard then you are extremely delusional. Everyday in the roll call room it's the same ones whining and complaining.

She barely supervised the Tact Teams and she has favoritism which she didn’t hide. You need to observe and learn from the veterans sitting next to you at roll call before you learn the hard way. Not everyone is your friend and definitely can’t trust anybody in this department.

He killed a guy who was wanted for the murder of a 14 year old. The guy pulled out a gun and Valadez killed him. Clean shoot so no reason for him to be “fighting” for his job. He’s probably the only one on the current command staff who understands what PO’s go through.
So glad Jimmy Sanchez from 010 did not get promoted or moved to a better spot . He has been promoted way past his ability.

Listen here buddy I do respect my elders but one thing I learned is age doesnt bring wisdom! I have a few years on the job and I worked in 024 and got dumped to the Southside I'm not going to say where because that might give up my identity as I'm kinda known on the job, but look buddy I'm not saying she is a good supervisor I'm just saying 024 is a retirement district plain and simple she will be ok it's not like 011 or 005! My buddy was the man in 024 I looked at his stats and I was better or on par with him in every category and where I was at I was just one of the guys no honorables ,merit promotions, or DCs...i ended up making it off score anyway so I'm good not salty at all and guess what I'm enjoying being back on the north side coasting!
