Easy to explain. She got 73.6% of the vote. What world are you living in that the mayor needed the police vote to get elected?
What was real surprising to see the Sun Times had a negative editorial about Lightfoot’s rumor comment. They even discounted her ways of trying to explain it.

She can’t even hide her disdain for CPD and especially FOP..... as evidenced by her comments about FOP during today’s City Council meeting.
If our contract negotiations were a trial she’d be classified as a hostile witness.
If Kimeesha and her attorneys won't prosecute people who desperately need to be prosecuted, why not lay off every one in the States Attorneys Office? They're not doing what they are paid AND obligated to do, so cut them loose. The money saved can be used to pay for all of the big CPD overtime coming when the thousands of unprosecuted violent felons reach critical mass and the "community" purge begins on the west and south sides?
The mayor will be looking back at 50 people shot with 10 fatalities on a weekend as the "good old days."

I would like FOP to explain to us what exactly has the Mayor proposed that the FOP continues to veto and disagree with? She keeps saying that FOP says NO to every item that she presents, yet I have never heard about FOP ever meeting with the Mayor - not once. Can anyone clarify?

I see there’s already been about 4 previous responses to how stupid your comment is, but allow me to pile on. The city has approximately 2.6 million residents. CPD is made up of approximately 11-13,000 members. Depending on what numbers you choose, we are approximately 0.0046% of the population. Also consider there are some liberals on the job, some flat out progressives, ones who didn’t vote. And don’t forget the biggest factor, we live in a city with a majority of the population being extreme left wing people and a ton who identify as socialists. With all that said, how in the fuck do you figure, making up 0.0046% of the population, that a mayor in this city needs police support. Where historically are you speaking? Mayberry?
