- For Chicago residents lulled into believing the May 20 coronation of Lori Lightfoot as mayor is a harbinger of sweeping change, dramatic reform, an end to bureaucratic corruption, and a decline in violent crime, think differently. Although Ms. Lightfoot avoided overburdening her inaugural address with pompous language, her fifteen-minute speech evoked memories of the former mayor, Rahm Emanuel, who, while manipulating facile rhetoric and serving up hollow promises in two swearing-in ceremonies in 2011 and 2015, droned on endlessly about a better Chicago, inclusiveness, equality, opportunity, education, and reducing crime. Well, welcome to 2019, where little has changed.
While there was nothing original, creative, or interesting in Mayor Lightfoot’s vision for the Windy City, when the former Police Board president addressed the scourge of crime and violence, she spoke of bridging the divide between Chicago police and residents. Boilerplate rhetoric to which she appealed throughout the campaign, Lightfoot was coy in her oration, but did mention her administration’s aim to offer further training and wellness support for police officers. When confronting the ongoing debate over policing, Lightfoot opaquely referred to her intent to lend support for a proposed police oversight panel as providing the “best-quality supervision available.” A colloquialism for turning the screws on Chicago police, Ms. Lightfoot’s alluding to “supervision” over police is a potent signal she intends to sanction the creation of the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability.
It's a lengthy read - eight or ten minutes - but thorough. Groot is prepared to destroy the Department in a manner never before imagined and a cost that will be measured in hundreds of millions of dollars....and thousands of lives.

Lightfoot appeared on TV less than an hour ago for a 7-minute interview with host Stephen Colbert. You didn't miss a thing. No mention of the CPD or any controversial statements.
Colbert did ask her about the dichotomy of Chicago's strictest gun laws and all the murders. She blamed it on easy access to firearms brought in from Indiana and Wisconsin. Otherwise, all fluff. (yawn)
LL thinks she is Superman's girlfriend but without the co-operation of the Police Department I see nothing but higher crime, more shootings, more violent crime and of course rising murder counts! This POS has NO IDEA of how or what a Mayor is supposed to do! The city is doomed! You have probably seen this joke already as it has been around for years. I happened to come across it again and thought how it applies to the police. Some liberal left politicians and the "community" hate the police and think they are assholes. Some politicians think they are the brains and the most important, and want to control everything including our lives and profession. You can assign groups to the other body parts as you read through it. Since these politicians and the "community" want to think we are the assholes, read below and find out what body part is the most important. Think of the possibilities!!!

I turned on this Stephen Colbert show to see what our dear leader, Mayor Lightfoot had to say. Viewing it was a rather grueling experience, Colbert was not funny with his cue-card jokes bashing the President. The band looked and sounded like one I saw in the subway the other day. It was a lackluster interview with part of it showing a photo of Lightfoot & spouse at the home of Okra Winfrey. The experience sounded like the second coming of JC. Ms. Lightfoot came out in a rust colored suit with black uniform shoes and black beads. The show lacks any intellectual or comedic value. They sure needed the applause and laugh signs, they could use a moan and barf sign though.
Everbody wants to tell the police how to do their job. There is no other profession that suffers from this syndrome or from the constant interference. Well maybe, sports, the fans are up in the stands all jacked up screaming at the players. But they get really really big bucks for that. But the fans know if they weren't separated from the players they would get their asses kicked if the players were right in front of them. Tell a construction worker how to do his job and he will show you how his tools work on you. If this grassroots group gets their way the police will more restricted that a prisoner in Stateville.

Time for the Feds to exert their authority........
Keep your powder dry and wait for the next public move by the Murder Mayor. FOP start putting together a great legal team and hire a PR firm to represent the rank and file. We are entering a new phase in the long war to be fought in the courts and in the media. The city is in lockstep with LA, Seattle and NYC. Chicago that's your future under the guise of reform by Democratic Socialist running the City, County and State.
The summer body count will speak volumes as to her failing socialist policies. The police will be blamed again while nothing is said about the Community responsibility and accountability for murdering their own. Some days, I can’t tell if Light-brain is doing this because she is cluelessly following what other leftist progressives are doing or if she has a plan to “crash the system”. Today, I’m leaning toward “crash the system”...
This is a ploy long advocated by “radicals” like Alinsky and his fellow-travelers. They take their cues from the “success” of the Russian revolution (a “success” only in the sense that Lenin came out on top, after millions of deaths); the lesson they claim to have learned from that disaster is that people will passively allow you to “remake” the state in any way you want IF you first reduce society to utter chaos and anarchy. Of course, with the Russian revolution, WWI (and the German Army) did most of the “heavy lifting” to create chaos, with the local “worker’s soviets” creating anarchy and Lenin popping in at the last minute to take control (shipped there from Switzerland by the Germans).
Light-brain may be hoping that, after Obama and the local “activists” and “community organizers” have stirred up resentment in “the community”, that hamstringing the police will provide the conditions for utter chaos this Summer. She will have been seen to try to “reform” the police in the face of “righteous anger” from “the community” - and being black, she will be (she hopes) immune to the anger of “the community”. Thus, more pressure will be brought to bear to further contain and restrict the police.
All of this will inevitably lead crime, violence and disorder to explode out of control, at which time, she and her cadre of leftist progressives hope the voters will give them the power to legislate, tax and spend their way into a socialist paradise.
There’s only one problem with that plan: it won’t work.
It didn’t work in Venezuela, where leftists took a country rich in oil and turned it into an economic basket case where the majority of people are losing weight. It didn’t work in North Korea, either. In fact, it didn’t even work in Russia, where the government had to starve, execute and imprison tens of millions of people in order to maintain control for 70 years.
What Light-brain and her minions don’t seem to understand is that society - even just the part of society that lives in Chicago - has a great deal of momentum. Once it is moving in a certain direction, it takes time to change direction or stop. And the processes begun at the start of the Obama years - the denigration of police and the rule of law, incitement of “the community” against the police (instead of against the politicians who caused the problems) and the fanning of racial resentment - has built up momentum over the past ten years.
Once the chaos and violence starts, Light-brain won’t be able to stop it. She may THINK that by “breaking” the police she will appease the mob and get them to follow her “social justice” banner, but once the mob forms, it is rarely satisfied until it gets blood. Police officers know this (although the CPD “leadership” largely lacks the “street” experience to understand this). Light-brain is toying with powers she doesn’t understand and can’t hope to control.
A wise politician once said, “The mayor is elected by the people, but can govern only with the support of the police.”

I too have been wondering the same thing, not just about her but the entire regressive movement. My theory, although very extreme, is that they will continue to destroy police departments across the country with so much non sense and supervision from extremist communist civilians, that we will be left unable and/or unwilling to effectively police. Once this goes on long enough, they’ll point and say how ineffective we are, how incompetent, and there’s no reason to fund us anymore. We’ve already heard these extremists calling for defunding of police across the country. Now I don’t think this will happen anytime soon. But you have to remember, whoever comes after Lori, will have to be more “progressive” than she is just like she’s more “progressive” than Rahm. Has to be, because when their plans inevitably continue to fail and continue to send Chicago (and cities like Baltimore, Seattle, etc) into the depths of oblivion, they won’t admit their ideology is wrong, the next person will say “we weren’t progressive enough and that’s why we are failing”. Because there’s no conservatives in government in this city to blame. It has to be they weren’t progressive enough. So as bad as Rahm was, and Lori worse, the next mayor will be even worse than this, it’s the only logical outcome, because again, they’ll never admit that they’re wrong and that their policies did this to a once great city. The only two other outcomes are the voters of this city will wise up, which will never happen which leads me into the 3rd outcome of these people will die progressives, they’ll destroy this city and state, and just get up and move to a conservative state that’s running well and ruin that state.
