Is This Something Cool?
- Police officers, military and security personnel all need to wear bullet resistant vests which are mostly made from high density materials such as kevlar. While effective for stopping bullets, it is also completely airtight, causing heat build up and sweat (skin rashes and chaffing for some!) This combination can lead to a very uncomfortable shift for the wearer. Supporting this campaign is one way you can make a huge difference in the daily lives of those who provide protection for all.
[...] Those who wear protective vests are all too familiar with the feeling of sweating through their shirt and having to wear it, wet, all day. This campaign will allow me to bring to market an effective product that will help alleviate that problem and to provide it at an affordable price for all police, military and security personnel. It is the first of it's kind that is removable, washable, extremely light weight with a very low profile. It's simple yet highly effective. Inflate when needed, deflate when not. By supporting this campaign you will help to greatly improve the daily lives of thousands of Officers who put their lives on the line to provide protection for all.
Jump over to the link and check it out. Interesting to say the least.

How about shorts...they were ok once. Bike officers look ok. What about the guys answering the call on the 3rd floor. Its always the third floor. Shorts for patrol.
Gave what I could afford. It is the least I can do for all who have to wear and protect!
Pretty good idea if it works. He should get some real world input as to its effectiveness. I am a citizen and if this actually works I would be willing to buy a few for a couple buddies who are CPD.
Hmmm...
It all begins with an idea, doesn't it?
Good on you Office!
Don’t need this if you never step out of the car. #stayfetal
Years ago we saw "Stoker Tee Shirts" in some
long forgotten catalog...
100% Cotton with an open weave like crochet.
Sleeveless too.
Wear a wicking tee shirt next to your skin,
then the crochet weave and finally your
body armor?
Idle thoughts.
Less involved but the "MAXX-Dri" undervest already exists to create ventilation, if not cooling, under there. Haven't tried it personally but on of the guys I know liked it. I worked in a hot city with no external carriers allowed and I used to tightly roll up a piece of paper towel just under the chest that would allow air to flow in from the top that felt great on a foot beat.
Does it affect the balistic resistance property of the vest if the vest is not against your body? Any testing done?
Suggest that Campaign provide a Donate option so individuals in supporting the Police could provide funds without receiving a Perk.
strapping young men going sleeveless and in shorts?
vapors anyone?

Thank you, sir!!
Similar products are available in many motorcycle shops.
If you ever hit the deck wearing shorts, you will wish that you were wearing your grown up pants.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
From an anti 2nd Amendment gun grabber. But, keep it kool, fools
Two things. He’s soft as whipped puppy shit. Turns every job into a major thing. Second, anything that moves the vest farther away from your body decreases stopping capability and increases space for a round to slip under the vest.
Soft body armor is antiquated. With the advent and proliferation of ar pistols, and ak variant pistols officers need to have better protection. One can buy an ar15 for less than the cost of a glock pistol nowadays and criminals are well aware of this. Ak and ar pistols may be more difficult to conceal, but 30 round magazines provide a good trade off. It’s time officers switch to steel plates or rifle rated ballistic protection. They may be a bit more bulky and uncomfortable, but they last decades and can provide protection from both rifle and pistol rounds.
Maxdri is what I've used for the last 9 years, works for me

Wait wait wait... for those of us with the INNER vest carrier, I have no sympathy for those lucky enough to wear outter vests at work!
Armorvent already does that.
Unfortunately, the vest needs to be against your body to provide the most protection. Being an "old dinosaur", I wear mine under the shirt not in one of the outer carriers. But, I would like to smack all the guys in the head that wear the outer one and open the flaps or walk around with their hands stuck in the vest. I see guys pumping this thing up and leaving the vest an inch off your body, even further with the outer cover.
Interesting concept.
Seen a device that hooks up a hose to a dash vent and then into/under the vest cover to direct a/c underneath.
Might not pass the COPA community first muster.
The inflating of protective gear may be as commurnity insensitive as pulling out weaponry.
On another hot air note -
We have an inflatable, high volume low psi Superintendent.
Boxing the clown Jugghaid seems to self inflate for every Accountability Monday, repeat his same drivel (illegal guns, trust, accomplishments so far, blah-blah-blah), then takes a bow, someone come up pulls the plug, flattens, folds and puts him back into a drawer until the next weeks charade.
I utilize a Leo brand called tacvent. Works great and support a law enforcement owned company check them out on Facebook or their website

I have (6) 6” x 10” gel cold packs in a cooler of ice purchased on Amazon. I tuck them under my carrier between the armor and my body. One in front, one in back. They are not plastic but a green neoprene material, very comfortable and soft. I rotate when the cool wears off. They are nice bc I can also just pull one out of the cooler, fold it in half, and put it under a baseball hat. Which is the only time I wear a baseball hat. It’s a pain, bc I have I lift up my carrier and undo the Velcro and shove them up there. I have to take the best off or have a partner do the back one. This simple hand pump would be much more convenient.
None of this is meant to thwart the efforts of my German inventor colleague. Just putting another idea out there. I wish him good luck and much success.
Loos like a great idea. make sure you get a patent. You are about 4 years to late for me. I hope you make millions with this.
cool concept. but i think tacvent works better with our outside vest
carrier.
When do the K-Mart ads begin?
Thanks for all the comments guys, even the one from spineless ‘anonymous’ who said I was soft. no need to be scared sweetheart, put your name up there with it.
Nice guy but yea kind of liberal and anti gun fella. Then again new guys love wasting money on all this stupid gear. Gun, cuffs, radio and a pen. Anything else is just wasting money.
How about you just open your fuckin vest cover when you sweat? Keep it open in the car. Jesus, all is extra gear is getting ridiculous.
"...Vapors anyone?..."
It is quite the head rush. Don't forget to breathe into a paper bag that now costs seven cents.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
I have always found that if I have a strapping young man apply talcum powder to certain parts of my body before applying body armor, I keep very cool.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
