How High Mayor Groot?

  • Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson fired a full-throated defense of a controversial city database at the county’s public defender Thursday, saying an online listing of alleged gun offenders offers a legally protected and “good and transparent practice”.

In a five-page letter, Johnson repurposed language used by public defender Amy Campanelli this week to denounce the Police Department’s use of a web-based “Gun Offender Dashboard” to publicize court files of adults charged with firearms crimes in Cook County.

Campanelli said she was “deeply troubled” by the department website, which aims to document who is arrested on suspicion of gun crimes, the specific charge and whether they posted a full cash bond, 10% of that amount or were released without posting any money. She called for the website’s immediate removal, describing it as a “red herring” meant to distract the public from the Police Department’s inability to arrest shooters who contribute to city violence.
Obviously, the war between Groot and Prickwrinkle is heating up, and this online database is one of the flashpoints as to which branch of the Machine will control the future (what there is of it) for Chicago and Cook County.

Special Ed is playing his part perfectly - the willing tool to a larger political picture.

(note: yes, we're aware of the unlikeliness of Special Ed writing five pages of anything cognizant.)

What the Public Defender doesn't want to admit is that this portal shows that the fine officers of the Chicago Police Department, despite being treated like unwanted bastard stepchildren by the City administration for that last 8 years at least, is VERY capable and willing to apprehend these pariahs of society and put them in a position to be held accountable by the courts.

It is the prosecutors and the courts that are refusing to do their jobs and prosecute.

They are scurrying from the light like cockroaches.

SCC. I am writing to you because our Union is worthless. You have to address the issue of Probable Cause and when to arrest someone. We are fielding multiple calls from Po s and Detectives that are confused about when to arrest someone. The ruling and directive that came out affects Investigative Alerts ONLY. People are calling and asking, about if another officer witnesses a crime and gives out a flash, can they arrest?? YES. If a Detective calls you and tells you about his case and tells you there is Probable Cause, You now know about the case, and can arrest someone. We ve talked with legal affairs, we ’ve talked with felony review. They all agree. It affects Alerts only. YET our Legal Affairs Dept isn’t putting anything out clarifying any of this. This affects Officer safety as well. When there is Probable Cause to arrest someone, and you don’t or aren’t made aware. Yesterday we heard a certain Capt from the Inspection Division walked into the 018th Dist SDSC room and told them that if they witness a crime on the cameras, That they cannnot put out a flash message!! That is one of the stupidest things I have heard on this job, and that Capt needs to be talked too, who probably never put handcuffs on anyone in her career. This needs to be addresses and our FOP and the Dept is failing to do so and someone is going to get hurt.

Think about this for a minute: A person get arrested for a Weapons Violation (possession, use etc.) the arrestee goes to court and gets a bond for the offense. The department then post the facts on a web site. The Cook County President and the Cook County Public Defender complains about it's fairness. My question is, "who does this website embarrass". It does not embarrass the Police Department nor does it embarrass the Mayor. It embarrasses Cook County President, it embarrasses the Cook County Courts System, and it also embarrasses the Black Population of the County. How many Blacks, Hispanics, and Whites are arrested?

The fact that someone is charged, appeared in court and bonded out is a matter of public record. You can go on any clerk's computer at the courthouses and get the information. F**k Amy Campanelli and her rotten Office. Ask her about the underhanded unethical tactics her office pulled in the shooting of PO Del Pearson case. Her Assistant PDs should be disbarred and locked up. If it wasn't for ASAs Groth and Mahoney, the shooter would have walked. She was appointed by Prickwinkle and she's another puppet just like Crimesha Foxx. Interestingly, both Groth and Mahoney left the SAO and wouldn't work for Crimesha.

His reply was "at least 3" genders. Then this young SJW asked what they were. She was irritating but he's a career politician and used to such types. Perhaps if he would have had time to sniff her hair he might have been more kind. The closing line to his speech included the strange but very democrat type phrase, "We choose truth over facts". Truth as they see it that is.

Another loon (Elizabeth Warren) stated 4K Internet streaming is a human right and government must provide it. F-R-E-E for some. Can you think of anymore taxes, Groot? In Tennessee there is a tax on all litigation. Does that include the ghetto lottery winners too?

The portal will not be worth much, if the overwhelming majority citizens of Chicago don't bother to even vote for their Mayor they are certainly not going to look at this portal of data on arrests for gun possession. It is a pointless debate. Near 81st and May Street there was a local block club that guarded parked cars on the street and watched homes for break inns for years, several times members of the club pulled guns on those breaking into cars. These older guys are all gone now, there were block club signs that were intimidating to young thugs are fading and the newer cops don't even know this history. There are still community policing meetings via the CAP program, that is worthless. There were no reports of gun fire from that block back in the day, there were no drug dealers on the street back then, because the community policed itself with the tacit support of local cops. Call it vigilante justice, but it worked for years.
