- Cook County’s top public defense attorney called for the immediate removal of a new Chicago Police Department website that broadcasts adult gun-related criminal charges, citing what she described as inaccurate data and a “blatant intrusion” of defendants’ privacy.
“This is another example of police using a list of people who are presumed innocent as a red herring to distract from the real issue of the day: the CPD’s failure to arrest the individuals who are shooters and who continue to wreak havoc in Chicago,” county public defender Amy Campanelli said in a statement on Wednesday.
Actually, it's a pretty accurate list of people who have been arrested. Just because they haven't been convicted yet (or released without charges by Crimesha) doesn't mean they aren't the people doing the shooting.

But Lightfoot, a former federal prosecutor, has joined Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson’s public campaign arguing that the criminal justice system allows too many alleged gun offenders to stay out of jail while awaiting trial.
And if Evans and Prickwrinkle ever have a "come to Jesus" moment and realize that people behind bars don't get to commit crimes against (mostly) innocent people, Chicago might see a year without 400+ murders.
In the meantime, it's good to see the Public Defender's office is annoyed with something that makes their job more difficult, seeing as how Crimesha has been making it easier and easier.

How bad is it that when I read “Cook County Public Defender”, I think to myself, “oh yeah- I’ll bet Kim Foxx is REAL pissed off.

You shouldn't be surprised that City Hall didn't really do anything to punish him. Look at Anthony Escamilla the Commander of 025. The Inspector General recommended job termination for his corruption and all he got was a 7 day suspension. Stealing, lieing, and breaking laws is all just par for the course when you are a CPD Exempt.

I saw that video. Why in the F#%K are my tax dollars being spent on an officer to play Uber for Hulk Hogan and his associate????? Driving him from the airport to Rosemont for some kind of engagement with the siren on to get thru traffic faster - is that what constitutes an emergency these days? And then to film it and put it on social media like high school kids would?? Why isn’t that officer patrolling the airport if assigned there or wherever it is he might be assigned? And is his sergeant really “ok with it” like he says when Hogan asks about using a CPD vehicle as a taxi??? I RARELY see a squad car on my block even after calling 911, but a washed up “pro” wrestler from the 80s gets carte Blanche treatment because he needs a ride to an autograph signing event? This disgusts me and needs to be addressed.

Of course they are allowed to escort important people anywhere they damn well please. They are the police.
So how is it that all of the little town papers can post the names of arrestees in their police blotter for DUI,possession, etc. prior to any conviction or court date yet - and have been doing so for as long as I can remember (without anyone from the public defender's office complaining) and the PD puts out a list of those arrested for gun offenses they go berserk? What a double standard.
Austin is holding fund raiser for her run for mayor next election. With the incitement she has become the most qualified crook to run the city. The community loves their crooks so she will win in a landslide. Next Democratic President will commute her jail term so she can be sworn as The next Chicago Mayor.
The black caucus in Springfield and the black politicians in Cook County will never allow any law to pass that would put black people away in prison for long terms. They already claim that we have locked up way too many black people. It is their discredited theory of " mass incarceration". You can see in the democratic debates how Biden is being hammered for his support of tough laws way back when.
The laws back then were made stiffer because everyone that tried crack went crazy nuts! It was actually a worse reaction than PCP, which in my experience, was crazy. Crack cocaine was way more addictive and faster spreading! It ruined more families and created a whole bunch of fucked up crack children too!
what I don’t understand, is why do people believe that selling drugs is a victimless crime? They must have never seen or dealt with a drug addicted junky! If they knew or were related to a junky, they wouldn’t be saying that. It was the right decision at the right time!
Stevie boy over at mcpier? Currently spending time in a city job until he turns 55, at which time the deputy chief job will disappear and he'll do the same thing in a civilian role. Oh please. Every blue shirt on this department is tripping over themselves trying to do anything to get a take home car. They think that is the perk of all perks. These kids would sell their partner down the river if someone said they could take home an “unmarked” Explorer with steel wheels and MP plates, because they just think that means you’ve made it.
You guys should have been Sheriff’s Police or Troopers if that was so important to you.
“Waste and corruption”. Lol. Two words that have zero meaning to any Chicago cop as soon as he’s offered the same perks he whines about others having.
Time to replay the tapes that caught Blago and his foul mouth wife, plotting the next attempt to sell the senate seat. They could be like the other Chicago celebrity couple, the Jackson jr.s. When he gets out, it’s her turn to go to jail! “Fucking Golden”.

Hypocrite Lightfoot is bashing trump over this saying he doesn’t respect the rule of law. Funny coming from the same person telling everyone to not help ICE and ordering the CPD to not assist in any way. She also disregards the law making Chicago a sanctuary city for law breakers.

When I worked in the HQ for a few years, the 1st Deputy kept a list of people who were authorized to take a department vehicle home . The list was long and there were many civilians who worked in the building on that list, not just sworn, and many police officers, not just people of rank. It was used as a political plum. In the Inteligence Division there were a few wives who had unmarked cars to use to include surveillance cars, confiscated and rentals. Cars assigned to the Intelligence Division were used by people ( never found out who) outside of the Intelligence Division. I don't know if things have cleaned up any since then, but I doubt it.

how about a take home marked car for all beat officers , face to face relief on the beat , it would look like Chicago has a few thousand more police officers . Allow officers to use vehicles while off duty , shopping in Chicago , picking up kids from Chicago schools , why not ?
