- New York City police officers are demoralized after the city’s termination of Daniel Pantaleo, the police officer involved in the 2014 death of Eric Garner, said former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik in a Monday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.
“I’m disappointed in the decision,” stated Kerik. “It’s not the decision I would have made. I’m disturbed, more so, by the commissioner’s comments surrounding his decision. If it was him, and he was in that position, he may have made a similar mistake. He would have told Garner, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t resist arrest.'”
Kerik added, “This was a lawful arrest. How much backup do you need? You had three or four cops there. You need more than three or four cops to make one arrest? I don’t think so.”
Kerik rejected characterizations of the maneuver used by Pantaleo on Garner as a “chokehold.”
Someone who claims they "can't breathe" eleven times is by definition, breathing.

The offender, Garner, was morbidly obese, had a heart condition (no doubt from his fat laden diet) and resisting arrest was probably the most exercise he’s had in the past ten years. But it’s the cops fault for arresting him? Who can justify such logic? What exactly is the end game for SJW’s that condone this anti-police sentiment? If lawlessness does eventually prevail, as that is what they appear to want, who will fill the void? What’s the real agenda? Who will take control? And to what end?

Officer Pantalejo should hire some good attorneys and appeal. He will get his job back.
Another option is for President Trump to intervene and offer Officer Pantalejo a job with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The libs and minorities would lose it.
I've seen the video, as many have. Garner was so fat that the officers one arm barely went halfway around that fat asses neck. How is that a chokehold?

Terrible but expected seeing as their orders say you can’t use chokehold. Doubt any of what our joke of a Dept would call “less lethal” would’ve worked on that guy. Hope Officer sues and gets his job back. Hate that he has to go through this.
Reminds me of our own “use of force class” that one hour says we are all racist and all of our actions stem from our “implicit bias” to the next hour that says our uncontrollable biological FF or F reaction causes our response to situations. Add on top the fact that the “instructors” gave examples of kicking someone to save your parters life (in real life that Officer was stripped) to guys and gals in shootings not remembering how many rounds they fired when asked afterwards (hello??? JVD). The entire thing was a joke.

What is it that causes certain people to always do the wrong thing? I respect the police, but being entirely honest, I do not like authority. I am not a legal scholar, and in fact, I have never studied the law. However, this much I know: When a duly sworn law-enforcement officer informs you that they are arresting you, it's over. You submit. Time to tell it to the judge. There's no legal system in any other country, anywhere else in the world, that's going to deal with you as fairly as the one right here in the United States. But as for resisting arrest? Yeah, just don't do it. You won't win, and you might lose big. Sorry for this cop, who really was just doing his job, which is still considered legal by most. I think he'll win his appeal.

I’ve watched the entire video repeatedly. NYPD came out looking pretty good.
While there’s room to disagree about the ordinance being enforced, that’s not up the police. The laws get passed, the political leadership set priorities, and the police are set out to enforce them, without fear or favor.
No police department in the USA would have walked away from this. We pay our police to win. Nobody is allowed to decide whether or not they want to go to jail once the police tell them they’re under arrest.
The hold was excessive, lets get that straight. Also, you could argue why even bother with loose cigarette arrests? Seriously, who gives a fuck. Or maybe he needed a "head' for the day. Now him being fired? That also seems excessive. The hold was not ruled to be a cause or contributor to his death so then suspend him and move on.
