The outrage would be palpable. Charges of racism flying around everywhere. Claims of preferential treatment for certain people (or folks) based on connections.
Oh, who are we kidding? That happens already. Still, to base a legal argument on this is pretty arrogant.

3. Don't you WANT the police to do a thorough investigation in ALL cases? Otherwise why would you call in the first place?
