A few days back a few Tac guys in 007 took the initiative and self transported a 3 year old Boy to the hospital with a gun shot wound to his head. Rumor has it the ambulance arrived after the P.O’s got the baby to the ER. These Officers single handily saved that boys life and gave him a chance to grow up. Sounds like not a peep from the bosses in 007. How sad. Oh that’s right... they only show there faces when they wanna rip an officer or Sgt open for allegedly F****** up. Outstanding work Officers.

There are also no words to ever express the disappointment at the current Chicago Police Department. Once the most respected department in the entire world. It is a disgrace to hear and see what has become of the department as a result of promoting officers into supervisory positions they have not earned by merit as a “real” officer or by testing. Merit promotions began years ago and have lost merit. The officers in patrol are the hardest working officers in the entire department. Those in patrol earn and deserve the respect of every boss, especially those on merit promotions. Most people in our country hold the upmost respect for police officers. To all of you on the job in Chicago, hold your heads high, you are doing work that is indescribable and difficult, yet you attend to it every day. You are respected by many and known as heroes by many. Hang in there until you can leave and live the rest of your time knowing you served well.

I wore one too and carried a revolver. I also carried a blackjack (Some called it a slapjack) and kept a cattle prod (hotshot) in my car. Cameras were a rare thing for thugs. We were actually respected by tax paying citizens and many of the trouble makers.
Our cars didn’t have ABS brakes, so we had occasional “brake checks” when we had unruly backseat passengers.
If you had to fire a few rounds, no big deal or report unless you hit your target, and some of the old timers before me didn’t necessarily report a hit.
There’s tons of fun stories. Thank God I survived.
Last good Commander was Leo , before that maybe Art Thompson .a lot of great Sergeants ,Lieutenants passed through there and most blue shirts are top shelf , aggressive police officers . Entire CPD needs to protest , demand two man cars , in every assignment .

They would add their names to the bottom of other coppers arrests hung on the clip board in the tact office and then recopy them and rehang them in order to get credit. Both of them have been taken care of by the former CPD boss & University of Chicago former police chief Rudy Nimocks. Way over promoted and neither could know how to lead a one car funeral if assigned. Absolutely disgusting what this job has become. Douglas or Parker couldn't find their ass with both hands.

SCC, I was one of many Sargents on Scene at the hospital from a neighboring district. These officers seemed not even phased. Stepping outside the box and making a spur of the moment decision that saved that kids life. There direct supervisors should be proud of the job they did. Great work Men and Woman!

You see you have to keep in mind that it could always be worse. Imagine having to work for this idiot, Detective Chief Constable Julie Cooke. And everyone celebrate for today is international pronouns day, "which is a day particularly important to people who identify as transgender or gender nonconforming. Being misgendered can have a huge impact on somebody and their personal well being, it also can be used as a form of abuse for somebody and that just isn’t right". And they will arrest you for said "abuse". Imagine having to do that? All while real crime is rampant. Earlier this year, a 38-year-old woman was arrested in front of her own children and locked up for 7 hours after referring to a transgender woman as a man online. How about we send them butterball Ed and Wheezie to fight the "abuse" and crime. Really why would anyone even want the job today. So be thankful as elsewhere things are even more upside down.

He's never had a bad job. Has he ever worked south of Diversey? As a former member of his tact tram in 017 I assure you he is the weakest link.
