016 Out of Control (UPDATES)
As of a month or so ago, 016 and 020 were the only two Districts without a single homicide in 2019. Now 016 is up to something like four or five, rivaling 011 for the worst September/October citywide. Things like this aren't helping:
- A suspect is in custody Saturday in connection with a shooting that killed one person and wounded four others at an apartment in Dunning on the Northwest Side, police said.
About 5:30 p.m., the five people at an apartment complex in the 6700 block of West Irving Park Road, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.
Four adults were taken to hospitals in serious-to-critical condition and a fifth adult was pronounced dead at the scene, a Chicago Fire spokesman said.
Domestic related? Dope house?
We haven't seen the words "mass shooting" yet.
UPDATE: Four dead (fifth is looking poorly), vaulting 016 into the October homicide lead and the Homicide Hall of Fame. We can't remember the last quadruple homicide off the tops of our heads, it's been so long.

With a recent quadruple murder in Brooklyn North's 77th (Crown Heights) precinct, this precinct currently holds the 2019 citywide record among the NYPD's 78 precincts with THIRTEEN (13) murders. Writing about districts "Out of Control", at last count, the CPD's 11th District has SIXTY-ONE (61) MURDERS, 24 more than the closest runner-up (6th District).

The only time the 'Press' would use the term 'Mass Shooting' in Chicago would be if it happened on a Sunday in a Catholic Church.
Make sure you tell everyone you know what phonies the Media is and how much they despise working Chicagoans. Some have yet to figure it out, especially the boomers.
According to FBI standards, mass shootings do not include gang or domestic related incidents.

Latest report is that all 5 victims have died from the attack. Prayers for them and their families and friends. Horrendous crime and very sad for those involved. The shooter lived at the address for 15 years according to the news. Who knows what made him go tilt now and commit these horrific crimes.

Dunning is still a good area especially west of Harlem ave.

The suspect had a history of getting into it with everyone in his complex ; arguments and fights etc. no one reported his ever having a gun before
Strange case. Most of the time when a guy goes postal they just kill themselves. Sad for those families.
Lived in that area for 21 years. Was a great place. I felt the neighborhood was changing for the worse 4 years ago. Started hearing shots fired in the area.You never know about multiple unit buildings.

I live very close...a stone throws away actually....i cant believe I actually told this turd to stop leaving furniture outside our apartment complex’s garbage dumpster costing us dearly in garbage fines. Plus he would use my neighbor and others designated parking spots. He had a vile personality and alot of barking but not physically aggressive.I was sleeping and was awaken by all the sirens. Thank God i carry whenever i throw out my garbage. This is still a great neighborhood but this incident just proves anything can happen at anywhere to anyone. Thank God St. Michael was watching over me.
Heard this on the news this morning.
Sounded like the Riccio statement was attempting to downplay the incident as just a localized random act of domestic craziness by an angry neighbor. So that may be the obvious case, declaring it as “don’t worry, it’s an innie” sure sounds calming.

Wife watched the national ABC news at 5:30.
This five bagger was NOT on either.
2 or 3 dead in Nowhere, South Carolina or
Liberalville, California gets hours of coverage.
Murder is common and expected in Chicago
and not news worthy.

I don't blame you for having that mentality, but this is a pretty different situation than the run of the mill scumbag on scumbag shootings. Hopefully the victims' families can find peace in some way.
