Shouldn’t the compliance report be 100% for everyone? What’s up with IAD? Aren’t they the standard of going by the rules? The consent decree says “lead by example” Bla Bla Bla. We all knew the “special people” would blow it off and work 5 hour shifts because of their connections. This department is one big LIE and double standard. No one should swipe again. Just print out this report and FOIA any future reports for your defense if they try to punish you. Joke

SCC, the important number is not actually the ones you highlighted. Those just show the in and out swipes. The last number, the percent compliance is the important one. That is the number that shows that you swiped in and out within the 7 minute window. So if you got to work an hour or two late and still swiped, it still counts for swiping in. And if you left early but still swiped, it counts for swiping out. But that last number the percentages are way lower because the personnel is not actually in compliance.

I wonder how this job would be if we got paid hourly? What would the swipes look like then? This job makes me laugh how one day someone works 5 hours the works 12 hours the next day then gets overtime pay for it. I had a coworker who routinely did that crap when she worked at FBI Task Force. If she couldn't finish up in 5 hours and had to stay 8 hours she was staying 12 hours.
The people who think they are better than the average working copper always finds a way ....... example:

Some people on this job just aren’t cut out for working a full tour or being “the police”. Doing it right under Lori’s nose and not a thing will be done about it.
For 21 years on and spend 19 at HQ, happens every summer and I’ve never spent more than a week in a squad and never had to answer a job that I didn’t volunteer to take (operation closed market, operation safe schools, then operation safe summer) I’ve seen it all, and ain’t gonna go nowhere. I can’t remember the last time I had to bid for a watch or furlough for that matter. Ain’t nothing gonna change. Gotta love this place.

When they run the report are they only looking for 2 swipes per person?
Is it 2 swipes per day?
What about if you swipe after midnight for 3rd?
What about extra swipes? OT?
Do they put in a specific times to run it?
How would they check if someone swipes out 7 mins before or 8 mins? Since we can swipe in up to 30min before the shift, not just 7min.

Read the order & Don’t listen to this nonsense. You are required per general order to swipe in and out in a certain time window. There is No allowance for anything outside this window except CU time or OT time.
The system flags anything outside that -7/+7min window and creates a color coded compliance chart for the bosses to quickly identify the non-compliant. That is why the order was changed and the swipe IN when you arrive to the building was rescinded.
They will make examples out of people who swipe early/late & we all know it won’t be the people in those specialized units with 20% compliance

You all should be dancing the happy dance for the opportunity to collect overtime without having to curry favor with your bosses and have them sign your slip. On that lunch time that most coppers overlook, go to the station and request to see your swiping history for the period. Make copies of it. Then show it to the judge if your pay doesn't equal your swiping. By refusing to swipe, or inconsistently swiping, your giving the powers that be another weapon to use against you and your union. Report every payroll screw up to the department of labor. Have FOP develop a database that tracks the clouted. FOIA everything you can on them, not anecdotal stories. A goof that gets a merit bump or joins a clouted unit and then doesn't tow the same line that a blue shirt pushing a beat car has to should outed. Publish their histories. Use them to document how merit hacks and clout has devastated the functionality of the department. You all know the arbitrator is going to be shown how the city has to rein in you out of control coppers. You will only win what you deserve by showing the arbitrator how much the city screws with you, that the clouted and merited are being treated differently than you.

I’m ok with swiping. At least the DAILY ducks stopped and the suckasses are forced to handle late jobs on their beat. You want to go home 2 hours early because that’s what you’ve always done? Put in a slip, suckass. That late DOA on YOUR beat is no longer assigned to another copper. Groot, the working officers appreciate the changes.
Keep 4-2 but let’s rotate watches every 2 periods.

Ferguson only goes after unconnected people. All the people blowing off the swiping order are working for connected people. IAD can do whatever they want and also only investigate the unconnected. We have all accepted swiping. In fact, I think a majority of the department welcomes it. We all pay taxes and expect other officers to earn their paychecks. This isn’t about swiping. It is about accountability starting with the top & their entitled friends/family.
Well there you have it and this is just a tiny snap shot of the total disregard and double standard. Now no one can be disciplined for not swiping. Wait a little longer and FOIA all the swipe reports. They can’t discipline some people and not the others just because they’re connected.

No swipe out, no proof you were there. Paycheck comes up short. Non sworn personnel in another building will do your payroll. No swipe in/out, no pay for that day, week, pay period. When the paycheck is zero ask your clout for money. You will have to document that you were there all day to get paid. Union can't grieve it.

The superintendent wants everyone to know the rank of deputy chief is a useless position even in patrol. Mayor to eliminate all deputy chiefs as part of a cost saving department-wide restructuring.

Please be careful with the swiping machines, they are delicate. Large Neodymium, grade N42 magnets can render the mechanism unusable. True with most electronics.
People, you cannot be disciplined in any capacity for not swiping. This was never agreed upon by our Union. If a boss wants to Spar you, let them. Two Spar’s in a year now it’s a suspension. Easy lawsuit.
There should be no reason that every single unit should be at 100% Just like the order says. If you’re at work you swipe in and swipe out. If units are under 100% that means people are still sneaking out PERIOD! What a joke

They chickened out just like the Storm area 51, 2 million persons signup. About 150 souls actually showed up, and no one approached near the gates. Lots of talkers, and not enough Naruto runners. But the guy who came up with the idea got his 10 minutes of fame.
In the Patrol units there are lots of talkers, and lots of kerfuffled feathers, but very few to go up against the bean counters. Swiping is here, and we will now swipe in for the rest of our careers. Even when they come up with a new timekeeping system, like eye retina scanning, we will still swipe, because that's how this asylum is run. We always add the new, and retain the old. Nothing goes away. It's like paperless reports. We still print out 5 copies of everything. Nothing like redundancy....

They got us real good here. No more getting taken care of for numbers, arrests, working late w/o submitting slip, going above what is required, etc... the Sgt.s and Lt.s had discretion to reward those who worked and also as an example to others that bringing in the numbers had its reward. Now it’s all over. The discretion to run a Watch, a sector etc... is over. Punch in, punch out. That’s what the CPD has come to. No incentive for arrests and numbers since there’s no reward, no stick and carrot. Like the old CCCP or for the millennials out there the former Soviet Union, were whether you worked or not you all got treated the same, no reward no incentive. That’s why there was a food shortage, if farmer A is planting crops and working sun up to sun set and farmer B does nothing and both farmer A and B get paid the same well guess what. No one does anything. What’s the point. And it all implodes on itself. So what do we do??? Bid to the district where you live. Conduct all your personal business and get work done around your house while working. Consider it a 9 hour day to get paid to take care of your personal business and affairs. Take an on line class , read while at work, have a cigar, go grocery shopping, find something productive to do but by any means don’t stop anyone. Never get out of the car, you will only regret it. We are stuck here and it ain’t changing. Patrol basically got a play of 15-30 minutes when checking off, that’s about it. No one was being ghost payrolled or working 2-3 hour days in a district. When your tied to a radio you can’t just disappear but then again considering the command staff hasn’t a clue what goes on at the district and watch level I’m not surprised that Patrol gets dumped on again. Remember do one job at a time and take your time, no rush, no hurry cause you ain’t going anywhere. Spend as much time as you can on paper jobs, traffic accidents, etc... cause there always a job waiting and no reward for working. It’s all over.....

I saw Supt Johnson on the news this morning saying that the first time he saw the Laquon McDonald video was 2 weeks after the incident.
Page 213 of the IG report says that DC McNaughton briefed Chief Gulliford on the McDonald shooting days after the Oct 22 post shooting briefing because Chief Gulliford was unable to attend. If Chief Gulliford was unable to attend the Oct 22 post shooting briefing, who would have went in his place? Maybe the Deputy Chief who was below him in rank at the time, who was Eddie Johnson? If true, this would have been like 36 hours after the Laquon McDonald shooting not 2 weeks after? Maybe an investigative reporter should look at CPD A and A's to see if Deputy Chief Eddie Johnson worked on Oct 22 and Chief Wayne Gulliford didn't? It might help to figure out if there was some type of notification to report to this Oct 22 post shooting meeting, like an email request or something like that to see if Eddie Johnson was requested and acknowledged to be at the Oct 22 meeting. If Deputy Chief Eddie Johnson was at this Oct 22 post shooting meeting, then why didnt he brief then Chief of Patrol Wayne Gulliford about the Laquon McDonald shooting and Deputy Chief McNaughton had to do it? Is it that Johnson didnt care, thought it was justified, had a poor relationship with Chief Gulliford, was completely inept and out of touch, or all of the above? Per FOP this is correct. Since discipline was never negotiated in regards to swiping (like the cameras), any discipline will be tossed. Can a boss spar you? Sure they can. Just take the spar and file a grievance since there is no uniformity in regards to discipline across the board. Ask the guys who have never activated their camera how much suspension time they’ve taken.
They have a camera installed to make sure the correct person is swiping in and out. Be careful.
OT: Marilyn Hartman arrested at Ohare airport for trying to sneak on a airplane again. This is after a, stern, Cook County Judge warned her 3 times to stay away from the airports!

Sure, not everyone will have a Sgt who will care or maybe it’s super busy that night and you just got to deal with it. But lots of times in the dead of winter a Sgt can cut you a break. Maybe you worked until 4pm from midnights the night before and your Sgt cut you early to go home because you were up for 28 hours straight and then only slept for a few hours before coming back to work. Lots of reasons why you could be cut early. Lots of legit reasons too. Would you rather cut a guy early and continue to get productivity or tell him to eat shit at every corner like the department does now and end up with rock bottom morale and an entire department of fetal officers doing nothing but working the full tour? Sometimes you got to give your guys a pat on the butt and help them out if possible. Not as easy on a beat car, but those cold winter nights always allow for lots of wiggle room. Or they did. So shut up house mouse, sometimes when you’re pushing a beat car, you want a supervisor who will help every now and then.
The Integrity Unit, led by Lt. Karyn Murphy, should be the first investigation conducted by the Inspector General.

OT: Marilyn Hartman arrested at Ohare airport for trying to sneak on a airplane again. This is after a, stern, Cook County Judge warned her 3 times to stay away from the airports!

Sounds good but in reality the system matches up the times we swipe in and out with A&A's. That's how they can tell if we are compliant...so in other words, if you work 0500 hrs to 1400 hrs as your schedule and its on A&A's and you swipe in at 0515 and swipe out at 1330 hrs you are NOT compliant. Then the system will highlight you in the red marking as non compliant. Trust me...ive seen what it can do for my own eyes.

People, you cannot be disciplined in any capacity for not swiping. This was never agreed upon by our Union. If a boss wants to Spar you, let them. Two Spar’s in a year now it’s a suspension. Easy lawsuit.

Per FOP this is correct. Since discipline was never negotiated in regards to swiping (like the cameras), any discipline will be tossed. Can a boss spar you? Sure they can. Just take the spar and file a grievance since there is no uniformity in regards to discipline across the board. Ask the guys who have never activated their camera how much suspension time they’ve taken.

Leave the workers alone for Pete sakes. Administration house mice, caps office and tact are where all the special people are above all rules. Any inspector with balls would leave the very visible beat guys alone. Start walking into Commander offices especially on Friday and weekends and see who’s NOT there . Better yet watch admin people go home and come back to swipe in their sweats.. It’s sickening.

The department may not discipline an employee for failing to swipe but the employee could get jammed up for theft of time. It's not hard to catch people who don’t work a full shift. The IG’s office has investigators checking residence violations and they will soon be conducting time and attendance violations to see if they can establish a pattern of practice for time theft by flagged employees. Please keep thinking it’s ok to steal time and you can kiss your job goodbye. It’s not about swiping in and out boys— it’s all about the hours worked. Don’t be an example!

Yup you're right. I used to be able to look up everyone's but not anymore. How sad this department is. Oh well I'll just find a backdoor to get it and expose more of the hypocrisy.
Word is the IG has been trailing a certain 4th floor hq detective for months. Soon to be the poster child for why swiping is needed. Not good. Criminal charges to come. Watch out folks.
