Why do we even have merit anymore ????? If Lori is trying to make every thing legit, which is impossible, because she is a fraud too, why even have merit anymore? Merit are jokes, and we should all laugh at them, in training and even in the field. Eliminate merit promotions, how do they even look people in the eye? Pathetic. I'll stay a blue shirt, at least I can keep my dignity, and not have the need for knee pads.
When do we stop the multiple merit promotions? It's one of the biggest moral killers on this job.

She barely passed the academy but intervention from her sister and starks they cleared the range of all personal and she miraculously passed qualifications. She incompetent, dumber then shit and has a hard time completing a basic case report. I feel bad for the district she ends up in, but she will probably land a spot in HQ due to her connections and incompetency.

1. Police family
2. Academy
3. HQ
4. Unit (insert phone call unit # here)
FTO would make number 5. but there's too many top notch FTO's who try and try to make merit but are left to rot on the watch.

Merit packets were submitted long before the "dump." And maybe his pick got made because that person was considered better than the remaining merits (which, if I read right, isn't saying much).

And you post this anonymously. People aren't being bashed simply because they made it and others didn't. It's because they made it while others who are much more qualified didn't, simply because they're the right race, or know the right person, or have some dirt on the right person, or suck the right dick, etc. If you don't understand that, it's because you're either really dumb, or you're pretending not to get it because you've benefited from it. Melissa palmers promotion proves without a doubt that Rahm still calls the shots. Lori is also subservient to Rahm as he still has his detail and his crooked friends are still on loris staff: fat head ed, Janice Jackson at CPS, phony Kelly at the park just to keep c3 and lollapooloza in the game because Rahm wants, Ferguson who sold his integrity for a contract by allowing the permanent victim class to fix the lieutenant test, and phony Steve Berlin at the board of ethics who does loris bidding and before her, Rahm’s. A total joke.
It's disappointing that if you congratulate someones promotion as I did McCruddens, the haters come out en masse. Although Brendans detractors were few, so apparently he must be sort of OK.
In the business world, merit is how promotions are always made. There is an element of who you know there, also, just not as bad as government employees. In private business, you nominate enough fools it eventually tarnishes you, so they don't get carried away. The reason they make us take tests for promotions is because of the abuse of the past. I'll be damned if these idiots have their organizations objectives in mind when they nominate people. They just have foolishness in mind, are you the right sex, color, who are you friends with, who are you related to and on and on. These bosses jobs are important to the organization and they just screw the pooch every chance they get and the blue shirts and the public get screwed each time they fail us.

Don't worry, they'll keep a seat warm for Nomellini to go right back to the Academy. He'll do a few months tops in a place like 007, 010, 011, etc. Then, he'll be ready to make his triumphant return with wild tales of the hood, perfect for new training scenarios for real street coppers to go through. To the asshole posting about Melissa Palmer-you are a clueless tool! She worked in 007 and 011 her entire career before she bid to 019. She was on the list before she bid to 019. You are probably one of the many who have worked in 019 your entire career babysitting the Cubs—she knows more about police work than almost every cop in 019—she will be an excellent sergeant!
I don’t care who sucked who sucked off or if someone’s mom got her two daughters in or if someone’puts in their brother in law for merit. The Merit System is broken. The thing is that it should never have been 30% merit. That number is ridiculous; you might as well just make it 50% since it appears it’s an invite for friends and family only. Why isn’t anyone stepping in and saying NO! Detective is 20% but that’s an “assignment “ and not a supervisory position. Merit Is so blatantly abused that it’s not even funny. Someone needs to step in and put a kabash to it and lower this number. It’s truly stealing from some deserving person, but it’s never going to happen. It’s the Chicago way.
I have not been on the job for a while are used to work in old 13 and I got to say that Lance was the biggest useless piece of shit ive ever worked with in my life it finally paid off for him and he got promoted. So sad good luck for whoever haa to work for him
There will be one last class from the old list. Bank on it! Not sure of the amount yet, but I will let you know. Originally was to be one more 50 but not set in stone.

After the diet began and ended, 017 has now about 160, the manpower of the Chicago Police Department is reported at 13,500, once again. Working in a "fast district" is exhilarating. Working in 017 and having less cars total than these "fast districts" has as 06 cars, tell me about how hard you work? The character of the work you do is the same as any other ghetto district and you have what, 500 police working in your district? I've worked in busy districts and I've worked in the slow ones, they both suck now. Quit slapping yourself on your back, Ms. 4 year wonder about how hard you work.

He’s inside at Headquarters doing limited duty secretary work for 2 years cause he was thrown from a horse during Mounted Patrol Class 2x and broke his back. He had surgery. He originally told us he’s inside for rest of career. Last 4 months he’s back in uniform, running on gym treadmill. I guess he’s healthy, not practicing his hate for women on the job comments, not practicing his I hate people and their problem speeches and over his jealousy of his LT wife. Now we will all benefit from his Sgt leadership. Do you think it’ll be on the streets or back inside with a reoccurring back issue?? Meritorious wonder

40 made it by score and score alone so 30% is 12 merit but the city is so corrupt they magically determine the total number in the promotion class and then tke 30% of that number giving them a boost. the poster above thinks logically 40 on score so 40% merit is 16, i think a judge would agree someone should sue and stop this nonsense.
