What Conflict of Interest?

  • The special prosecutor appointed to look into the politically charged case against former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett will remain in that post despite revelations he had co-hosted a 2016 fundraiser for now-Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx at his high-powered law firm and also cut a $1,000 check to her campaign.

Cook County Judge Michael Toomin defended his appointment of Dan Webb, saying in a court hearing Friday that donating to political campaigns was a routine practice for lawyers in Chicago and Webb’s contribution should have “no affect on his ability to be fair and impartial” in the hot-button case.
But let something similar happen on the national stage and watch democrats screech to the rafters about conflicts and recusals and conspiracies.

How's this for an idea --- get a special prosecutor from outside Chicago, outside Cook County! Like they did in the Laquan McDonald case......

Then you don't have to be concerned how many politicians the special prosecutor donated to!

Built-in appeal. Don't care so long as they spill the beans on masterminds: Kamala Harris, Corey Booker and the Obama family..

Kim is going nowhere; Soros is thrilled with his $400k investment. Never ceases to amaze me how inexpensively he can hasten the destruction of America- $14 Billion he donated to Open Society.

“Webb, however, told the judge he simply had no prior relationship with Foxx and that even calling it an appearance of impropriety was a stretch.
“I don’t know Kim Foxx. I’ve never met Kim Foxx, to the best of my recollection,” Webb said.” (Chicago Tribune)

Hosted a fundraiser for someone he doesn't know, signs a check for someone he has no prior relationship with and never met. Why would anyone do that? Why is he doing this? He sure as hell doesn't need the money. Now it does reek of impropriety!

===============================================================================
Appeal?? There will be no appeal process for his "findings." He will be portrayed as an impartial person who came and found out that Jussie and Kim didn't do anything wrong and it was the racist police who made him look bad. If you think he will "find" any links to Harris, Booker or the Obama's, I have a bridge to sell you. Even though there is a direct link to MO's Chief of Staff, he will say that didn't have any impact. Then following his "impartial" findings, his law firm will go back to getting city business and lining their pockets. He will have done his job. Give them cover for their activities, keep Kimmy in place and allow the SJW to change the narrative to fit their agenda. Welcome to "impartiality and transparency" the Chicago way!!! By the time the 2020 election rolls around, the story will be back to some white Trump followers with MAGA hats attacked him. Check out the Dave Chappelle Netflix special segment about Jussie.

This is 100% a conflict of interest. A special prosecutor should have no connection or ties to either side. And once again, Smollett deserves the full sentence of falsifying a hate crime just to further his career and push a false political narrative. It was an absolute disgraceful act and needs to be dealt with harshly and swiftly. If he gets anything less then people should be outraged. The Feds should have taken this case over awhile ago because Crook County has proven itself to be shady, corrupt and extremely biased yet again.

It has been proven in Webb’s prior conduct during Koschman / Vanenko case. His actions are to protect the Democratic Party......
He could find no connection between the Vananko battery which eventually killed Koschman. And the Daley family controlling the investigation. The impropriety is all over that case. And they still tried to seal it up!

Anyone else out in real world who had a child die from a crime then wait years for any answers or court will tell you the truth.
Webb is brought in as Mr. Clean, the guy who will find the truth as long as it goes with the Democratic Party lines.
Webb stands at the Microphone saying how extensive his investigation will be and then find no misconduct. All done for free?

A workmen is worth is wage! Do not trust Webb doing this for free! Then saying he never met Fox!
You can bet good money there are photos of Webb shaking hands with Fox just like the photos of Webb hanging out with Daley Family......back in the day.

Mr. Webb time to step down.
As for the retired Judge who requested the special prosecutor,
you should not take this without going to media and court!
It smells like the fix is in and they already have closed the case.

They need a new leader of this investigation. I do not want it, but find a non connected retired prosecutor or judge.

This is bullshit. Whether it “matters” or not - personally, I don’t care; professionally, a judge should care - both Webb and Foxx lied off the bat (omission of information is a lie), both knew the other was lying, both accepted each other’s lies, and thus starts a new ethics case in Chicago, with the judge setting and accepting the stage for a case starting in lies. Why is everyone surprised? It’s how we roll in the Windy City.

Not a fan of Webb, but giving him the benefit of doubt. Companies are constantly donating to people all the time and the big guys and gals don't know about, it's SOP. It's just that his name is on the company. His group probably donated to every democratic and republican person running and he was unaware....with this said, this may help. He may feel he has to come to a decision now to uncover wrong doing and not cover it up. He needs to finish the investigation before the election and post results. Just what the MSM is reporting we all know she committed a crime....let's see what happens.

No one wanted to take on this pack of racist arses when Toomin shopped it around. All the State’s Attorneys of other counties did not want to get involved and be nationally called a racist if he or she re indicted Smollett or found fault with Foxx. Other private attorneys didn’t want to get involved for the same reason. So, he offered it to liver lips Webb who jumped on it. Webb’s lying about not remembering his $1,000 contribution to Foxx. Toomin has now decided that the contribution does not create a conflict. That is just plain wrong factually and legally. Watch for the big whitewash coming before the end of the year. It will be phrased in some legal gibberish about double jeopardy and the argument that prosecutorial decisions on charging are not reviewable.

SCC History Corner
Q. How is Chicago like Washington D.C.?
A. Chicago was built on a bog; D.C. was built on a swamp.

Q. Why is jacking so endemic in Chicago?
A. Industrialist George Mortimer Pullman got his start raising buildings
using hundreds of men and hundreds of jackscrews. Mr. Pullman is
perhaps best known for his railway cars, but he got his start elevating
sinking buildings. So I guess you could say that Pullman, who once
elevated a hotel without disturbing the guests, was an expert par excellence.
