Cops Hurt in Crash

Both out of the hospital now:

• One of two Chicago police officers who were hospitalized following a Wednesday afternoon collision in Oak Park had to be extricated from the vehicle, but neither suffered serious injuries in the wreck, officials said.
  
  The T-bone crash happened when an SUV and a four-door police car collided at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Harlem Avenue about 12:30 p.m., said Oak Park Deputy Fire Chief Peter Pilafas. Pilafas said he was unsure if the four-door car was a marked or unmarked police vehicle, and said one of the car’s front doors had to be pried open. “We used extrication to open up a door and get one of the patients out,’’ Pilafas said.
  
  According to Oak Park village spokesman David Powers, the CPD car was traveling northbound on Harlem and was “not on an emergency response” when the other car, traveling west on Jackson, collided with the police vehicle.
