Most Dangerous Street?

You'd think it was in 011 right? The most dangerous beat for a few years now has been 1133 or 1134. The Sun Times did a big story on it a few years back. The District itself sits on 1134's beat, so that would be amusing that even a two-story police station housing four-hundred cops can't deter homicides, but we're wondering if there's an even more dangerous road in Chicago far away from the west side:
  • An Elmwood Park man ambushed a fellow chef in the kitchen of a Portage Park restaurant during the dinner rush Sunday, fatally stabbing him with a 9-inch fillet knife for several minutes as he fended off coworkers trying to stop him with cutting boards and a chair, prosecutors say.

Jesus Martinez, 37, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the murder of 35-year-old Cory Neill, who both worked as chefs at the Foundation Tavern and Grille, 5007 W. Irving Park Rd., according to Cook County prosecutors.
Irving Park Road seems to be attracting more than its share of homicides this year. Just about every single homicide in 016 has happened on Irving, including the five dead in a mass murder, the bank robbery that ended with a cop shot, another bar fight/homicide in front of a bar.

Someone ought to do something.

Prime example how shit can jump off no matter where you go or what time. Carry and carry an extra mag. If for no other reason, you can’t take the bad guy out, then to keep the asshole away from you and/or your campion/family. Restaurants, stores, hospital, Walmart’s, gas stations, shopping for food, etc, there are no safe places anymore. There was a time the police off-duty out alone or with family just had to worry about a bad guy trying to rob us, then came the terrorists with firearms or butcher knives, and now we have carjackings with a gun and wackos and domestics wanting to kill everyone cuz they were fired or dumped by the SO. Crazy world now. Better to carry and not have to use it, then to need it and not have it.

Adjoining Beats 1133 and 1134 are bounded by Jackson Blvd. to Roosevelt Rd. and Springfield Ave. to Sacramento Blvd. The beats are split by Homan Ave.

From personal experience, I disagree. I believe the most violent and deadly part of Chicago is West Garfield Park between the Ike and Lake St. and Hamlin/Independence Blvds. to Cicero Ave. This area centers on the intersection of Pulaski Rd. and Madison St. in the 1110 sector.

Just Austin migrating North. Won't be long before Belmont Cragin makes the Hay Jackals most violent list with its own listing rather then being grouped in other category. Lived in Austin during the 60-70 white flight and watched a great area go to hell when the racial demographics changed. It only took a few years before you couldn't drive thru without feeling unsafe. Anyone who thinks that Section 8 housing in in area is a good idea has absolutely no common sense. Arena I am talking about you.

Groot doesn’t allow good neighborhoods to have a legit amount of police officers patrolling them. God help 016 and 017. It would be nice to have some rapids, 06, a wagon and 10-4 units but no, good people aren’t allowed police service in groots eyes. Send all the cops to 011 and 006 as usual.

God help this City

What's up with the latest onslaught of comments directed
at Baby Boomers? They received NO national news as
they entered into the workforce with sky high interest rates
rendering home purchases null and void. They all got 2nd
and 3rd jobs just to survive the rampamt inflation.
No bitching, just working. They also didn't need a National
Father Figure like Dave Ramsey to nurture them and point
the way. No brainer. No money = Work More Jobs.
Problem solved.

025 is busting at the seams.
They could redraw District boundaries southward to level the crime infestation fields, something a Census gerrymandering might include when Wards are redrawn. One or the other, 016 or 025 could be written off the map entirely.

What’s the ratio of innie murders to outies murders in 016 so far? I think there’s some wiggle room for argument.
It was always a matter of time that Irving’s State Highway 19 in 016 had to answer to 011’s Roosevelt’s Road.
I can remember when westerly arteries North, Grand, Fullerton Aves started to turn, then Diversey, Belmont, Addison.

Tolerant and welcoming, Democrats spreading the blight on thoroughfare at a time.
Section8Arena’s contribution to Portage Park: courtesy exchanges, dollar stores and shirt laundry macks.

Not to worried about 016. Retirement is great, neighborhood fine A few murders that have nothing to do with the neighborhood. Some good kills 5 people in his apartment building while they were eating dinner and I believe an OD officer witnessed it and two chefs fighting in a restaurant don’t mean the area has gone bad. Edison Park, Wildwood , Sauganash, Jefferson park are still fine

No police in 016/017. Beat cars routinely unmanned for entire tour on 1st watch. The place is wide open like a candyland for shitheads. Look at the theft and burglary numbers. Wake up in the morning in your castle with the 8,000.00 dollar a year property tax hit and your catalytic converter is gone or your car is sitting on blocks minus all 4 tires. Garage burglaries, atm burglaries, auto thefts............ etc...
