What's with the 2019 CPD weekly Murder count and Index Crime stats ending December 1st? They're a week overdue at the above CPD web site. Has CompStat gone on strike?
Just hope the Mush from A Bronx Tale doesn't chime in and take a crack at a couple bets on 500. Put 'em in the bathroom!!

500 is not some mythical number that the Democrats can celebrate and point to saying 'look! We are below this number! Good on us!'
Those numbers represent dead persons (homicides). Timmy Evans can be called out on a dozen in that 450+ count due to his policies. Bad guys caught only to be let free to go and kill.
Being below the 500 line, should 2019 wind up that way, does not let him nor Kim Foxx off the hook. Cook County needs to improve the courtroom side of matters and fast.
If Chicago had decent courts, 250 homicides a year would be normal in this VERY large city and not advance past that mark too often. That should be a goal.

Legal Pot is much different than you think. The dispensaries are loaded with old people that have a little arthritis pain and don't want to screw with insurance and Docs. You will be surprised at the crowd at the medical dispensaries. Blue hairs, not dreds. The recreational stores are always packed with tourists willing to pay high prices and high taxes. Nice, the dispensaries sponsor the roads. Our only toll road is to the airport.
I can't say what will happen in Chicago. Hopefully, it will keep people home more often. People won't have to go driving around the ghetto trying to score some weed. More than likely though, the denizens of the ghetto will figure out a way to ruin any positive points.
