Later Wednesday evening, a man was shot by Chicago police during a chase in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
Officers responding to a disturbance before 8:30 p.m. near Springfield Avenue and Wilcox Street tried to stop the man during an investigation, but he ran away, according to Ernest Cato, deputy chief of Area North. The officers got out of their car and chased the man, who then turned toward the police and showed a handgun, Cato said. An officer then fired shots, striking him in the leg.
The suspect, a man in his 20s, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Cato said. He was expected to survive his injuries.
Officers are all okay. Good job.

Central Detention are the fucking worse. I have been denied there with my prisoner at least 60 percent of the time. They even on several occasions try to deny a prisoner that we sat at the hospital for hours before even heading their way. Being a wagon unfortunately I had to deal with them a few times a week. The civilians there absolutely horse shit.

Running from police is NOT reasonable suspicion of anything. Every reasonable person runs from the police, so say CC judges.
Even if the those involved in the original disturbance shout, "He got gun", "He kilt someone", etc, Who hangs onto these witnesses.
Dude displays gun, POs shoot, hitting him in the leg. No mention of how many shots fired.
Since we are taught to hit center mass, 5X, a leg hit is actually a miss. (Legs are outside the 21 needed of 30 to qualify.)
Behind the offender, at that hour, how many women were going to church, kids playing outside, etc

what happened, if any crime was committed, get dudes name, nickname, crib address, etc.
If dude committed a crime we send a flash and write case report.
Could a Monday morning review of us cause us a problem? Absolutely yes!
We could watch the grandson's of Richard Speck, John Wayne Gacy or HH Holmes etc ,
while they continue in the family business , run from us while we interviewed witnesses.
