Impersonator
- Chicago police said a man dressed as a CPD officer robbed a currency exchange in the city's Streeterville neighborhood Monday evening.
Police said that at about 7:40 p.m. a man wearing a Chicago Police Department uniform, including a baseball cap, long-sleeve button-up shirt and reflective vest, as well as a surgical mask, entered a currency exchange inside the North Bridge shops in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue.
The man approached a 22-year-old woman who worked there, implied he had a gun and announced a robbery, police said.
The woman gave the robber an unknown amount of cash inside a bag, and the man fled.
Now you'd think that everyone, cops and citizens would want to catch this guy ASAP, especially as all impersonators have the potential to do real damage. Here's ABC 7's description:

That's really really fucking helpful, seeing as something like half of the Department falls into that description.

Well you can eliminate the other half of the Department who don’t fit that description. Bet they are breathing easier!! But the question that should be asked is, “ Did his appearance command respect!” Have you noticed the proliferation of of dirtbags walking around in yellow safety vests/coats. It gives them some cover as some people think they are construction or emergency workers.
Is there a reward for this guys capture? Because I shit you not, I am working with this guy right now!!

May I add, the perp was BLACK, around 40, etc.? Doesn’t help much more, but I’m sure that is what was left out of the description in the media.

His picture was shown on TV this morning; he's black, wearing a CPD uniform. Looks authentic. But he wasn't wearing a surgical mask as previoiusly reported.
Breaking news. An anonymous tipster has identified a theft ring of organized police impersonators operating out a building at 35th & Michigan. The anonymous source joking related to investigators that more loafers are located at this facility than a shoe warehouse. Additional shotspotters, plate readers, post police impersonation missions, adiitional pods & associated missions with events numbers will be deployed in these ongoing investigations.
The 40 years of age 180-200 lbs, 6'00'' should be easy to find. Most of the occupants of this building are overweight as they have spent almost all of their careers eating bon-bons outgrowing their desk chairs. The results of this investigation will be subject to ComStat and integrity unit accountability silliness. Arrests are imminent as the phone call scholarship-appointed intel unit is now required to swipe in and out as required by department directives.

According to police, the bank robber passed a note to a teller that stated, “This is an attempted robbery. Give me all the cash you have.”
Who uses the word "attempted" on a bank robbery note?

I’ve always removed patches and cut up my old uniforms to make them unwearable even the pants before tossing them out. But it’s not that difficult to mock up a security guard outfit and just blame it on CPD.

Not exactly true. They did show surveillance video of the guy so his race was out there for everyone to see.
