Are You Fucking Kidding?

  • When the mother of former Chicago Police Cmdr. Kenneth Johnson died in 1994, she left behind a bank account she shared with her son — the one where her monthly Social Security benefits landed.

The one Johnson described in court Tuesday as “the sword of Damocles.”

Rather than tell the Social Security Administration his mother had died, Johnson let the money flow until 2017. He spent it on hotels and airfare. He rose quickly through the ranks of the Chicago Police Department, committing a federal crime every month.

In total, Johnson stole $363,064. But U.S. District Judge Manish Shah refused to send Johnson to prison Tuesday, instead sentencing him to two years of probation that will include six months of community confinement.

Shah did so after Johnson told him “I am replete with misery and shame” — and after his attorney said Johnson feared losing his job with the CPD if he ever confessed the theft. Johnson called it “the sword of Damocles that has been over my head for 23 years.”
So just to summarize:
  • commit a felony, every month, for twenty-three years
  • pocket over $363,000 and spend everything except fifty-nine cents
  • not a single penny of interest charged for the taxpayer funds stolen
And he walks? What kind of lesson is this? He got what amounted to an interest free loan, vacationed on it, purchased cars and clothes on it, wined and dined on it. And he doesn't spend even a weekend in prison?

Blago never saw a dime and he got fourteen years.

I read another article that said this deal was already set in stone one month ago. Would that indicate that KJ is snitching...cooperating with the feds? He better be, because there is something extremely fishy about this entire situation. The drunken lying cheating former superintendent protected KJ by giving him the heads up to retire before KJ got arrested. Someone better be connecting the dots and expose the corruption within CPD exempt ranks.

From the story:
Johnson will likely spend his period of community confinement in a halfway house, though those details were not clear Tuesday. Michael Clancy, Johnson’s defense attorney, told reporters after court that Johnson had expected the judge to give him jail time, instead. The judge also ordered Johnson to pay the full $363,064 in restitution.

HE HAS TO PAY BACK THE MONEY. That is what matters 'most' for resolution of this ill. Yes, no interest but he at least has to pay it back.

276 checks. And 59 cents left? It's clear this was a calculated
scheme for blow money, not I need to eat money. This Judge

Does this mean his lawyer was stiffed too?

So what, does his probation house Arrest at the gubmint sponsored Salvation Army B&B (JJJr-Ryan suite?) only forbids him to engage in anymore family related Social Security check fraud ?

And another kick in the taxpayer nut sack is that if Dart or other gubmint agency doesn’t give him a overpaid job, he’ll get to soak the gubmint for his own share of entitlements.

The judge on Kenneth Johnson's case was Manish Shah, an former U.S. Attorney appointed by Barack Obama.
Shah is a University of Chicago grad, and friends with a lot of Hyde Park big shots.
Scuttlebutt is Johnson, who was in charge of the Obama house security during Barack's term, was the beneficiary of a favor from the Obama camp.
Hence, the light sentence, as Shah won't bite the hand that fed him.
Kenneth Johnson makes no secret of this, as his family is juiced up, and he kept a signed autographed picture of him and Barack Obama prominently displayed in his former offices.
Makes you wonder if a Obama lawyer reached out to the judge, a la Jussie Smollett?

Federal judges are not elected by the people, they are nominated by the state's senators.

Government pension plans should have a provision that prohibits a pension from increasing after the date that a crime is committed, not when it is discovered or prosecuted. The current policy allows the criminal to amass huge pension increases if he or she is slick enough to hide their crimes -- one might think that law enforcement would have an edge in this concealment.

Trump and the Republican majority US Senate have been busy nominating and appointing federal judges including US Supreme Court judges. To become a federal judge, one has to have mega political clout b/c your name has to show up on the US President’s desk who ultimately nominates you. Guess Shah owed someone big time. There is plenty of blame to go around. Start with government incompetence at the Social Security Administration (SSA) for continuing to send the checks. Next, as 12/04/2019 @ 3:53 am says, the funeral director is supposed to inform the SSA of the death. Throw in the county that issued the death certificate for not informing the SSA. Hell, I don't blame sonny boy. You know damn well you would do the same thing, at least for a month or three. Yet another example of government doing what it does best: Fucking up and pissing away money.

Makes you wonder how many other bassholes are drawing free checks based on dead relatives.

Welcome to America, Have no faith in the government you are working for.Because it is not looking out for you or the rest of the working citizens. Most politicians and many public servants and social workers rely on the societal dysfunction of the worthless and criminal underclass to even have a job to suck money off the system to do so..

FUGGEDABOUTIT, thinking about it will just make you more jaded

last i heard the irs charges 25% penalty and 20% interest on tax fraud. i think the irs would have to go after him seperately. if they charged him thusly and prevailed the fines and interest over 20 years would be huge. thats why i dont cheat on MY taxes. will this be like the juicy episode where the french actor sends fake anthrax to himself and the feds ignore it? those fines and interest are there to scare you and insure compliance. no penalty its just a 360k no interst loan recieved over 20 years and repaid over 20 years. not very scary in my book. sign me up i could use that kinda dough working in my portfolio and six months in a halfway house with cable, a.c. and three hots and a cot doesnt sound bad. i doubt that money will ever be repaid, and like he did with the s.s. checks, he will spend or hide every dime of his pension so his estate will be zero when he dies. thanks obama, the best president ever. reward bad behavior get more of it indeed. no more white privledge for me, where do you sign up for nobel?
