First Seat on the Bus
- Former state Rep. Luis Arroyo appears to be preparing to plead guilty in his federal corruption case, a new court record indicates.
Federal prosecutors filed a charging document Friday known as an information against Arroyo that repeated allegations first made against him in October. The filing is significant because an information typically means a defendant plans to plead guilty.
If Arroyo does enter such a plea, it would be the first conviction secured against an elected official as a result of the feds’ multiple public corruption investigations that became known with the November 2018 raid of Ald. Edward M. Burke’s office.
So who gets the second seat? Because the sentencing starts getting measured in years rather than months at some point. And these are not young men by any stretch - who wants to die behind bars?

I saw Burke in lake Geneva shortly before the new year. Asshole was actually doing his own shopping in the Walmart and drove himself, albeit in a phony squad car. Didn't know the prick had a drivers license as I've never seen him operating a motor vehicle.

Especially if one is up there in years, has some health concerns, and is drawing a sweet salary or pension. In this case, waiting em out is often an effective strategy. If I was 75 or so I would wait em out

Jimmy Dvorak former under sherrif took the plea and kept his mouth shut and his wife ended up with a nice job at the Illinois Secretary of State. They take care of their own.

Burke has a license as he appeared at the drivers license facility in Bridgeview in November with his bodyguard driving a city vehicle. Bypassed all the lines and had the security guard with him standing by his vehicle waiting for the examiner to come out and take him for his road test.

Keep going. You forgot to mention that the Forest Cop that wrote the ticket had a history of targeting Latinos. The County made the ticket go away because the Forest Preserve Police couldn't handle the bad press that would come.
